Ling Tian Sword God

With that thought, Ling Chen also manipulated the flying puppet to suddenly change direction, darting into the vast forest below.

In response to this sudden maneuver, the black-robed elder in pursuit halted above the forest, frowning as he watched Ling Chen disappear into the trees.

”What’s this kid trying to pull?”

He wasn’t sure if the kid was doing it deliberately, as the forest was full of obstacles, making it difficult to track him down.

However, he didn’t believe Ling Chen could detect his presence; a mere Sky Apex Realm Third Layer youngster shouldn’t be able to sense him.

”Thinking this can stop me, dreaming.”

The black-robed elder chuckled coldly, flinging his sleeves out to release puppet bugs the size of hornets.

These puppet bugs had a special sensitivity to human presence; each one acted as an eye for him, making it impossible for anyone to hide from their spread.

With these puppet bugs locking onto Ling Chen’s position, the black-robed elder swiftly closed in on him.

”He’s catching up so quickly.”

Ling Chen sensed the black-robed elder’s approach, surprised at the speed. His intention in leading them into the forest was to shake off his tail, an ideal outcome, but if that failed, he aimed to gain some time to prepare a big move to show the elder his prowess.

The Human Emperor was his trump card, unnecessary to use until the final moment. At this juncture, battling wits with a Saint was an invaluable exercise, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

At this moment, Ling Chen tightly grasped an item in his right hand—not anything else but the Peacock Plume, while the item in his left hand was a scarlet iron plate imbued with Flame Essence.

Activating the Peacock Plume requires an enormous quantity of True Qi, and the power of the Peacock Plume is greater the more propulsion is infused into it.

Ling Chen had a bold idea to use the power of the Nameless Iron Plate as a driver to unleash the full power of the Peacock Plume.

He couldn’t even fathom how large this power would be.

There was a chance he could keep the opponent back and directly slay the Saint.

Ling Chen’s eyes gleamed fiercely with resolve.

If anyone knew his thoughts, they would certainly think Ling Chen was mad—how could a mere powerful being of the Sky Apex Realm Third Layer dream of killing a Saint? It was sheer fantasy, a crazy dream.

”Kid, you’re quite the madman, but I like your wild spirit.”

The Human Emperor was taken aback by Ling Chen’s plan, smiling before his voice took on a solemn tone, ”But doing so carries certain risks, if it goes out of control, it might cause an explosion...”

”How can you know without trying? If I can break through this person, and then Master, you can take the chance to strike, perhaps we can kill him.”

Killing intent flickered in Ling Chen’s eyes. Being repeatedly pursued had fueled a fire within him, and he resolved to end it by killing the pursuer this time, to deter all those targeting him.

”Alright then, give it your best shot.”

The Human Emperor didn’t object; after all, the opponent was a Saint, his specific power still unknown. Although his will could repel the opponent, killing him would be challenging.

Therefore, if Ling Chen could severely wound the opponent, there might be a chance to kill him.

As Ling Chen sped through the trees, he rapidly infused True Qi into the Nameless Iron Plate, which quickly shone with a layer of red light, an extremely violent aura spreading outward.

A vast, pure flame power spiraled outwards, entering the Peacock Plume strand by strand, activating the engravings on the Plume piece by piece.

This seemingly peaceful process was actually quite perilous; Ling Chen was conscientiously controlling the intensity, otherwise, if it exploded, it would not just be minor injuries.

Even with the Human Emperor’s protection, losing a limb would be unavoidable.

Swish! Swish!

Two figures darted through the forest, one ahead, one behind; Ling Chen touched the ground with a foot, leaped from the flying puppet, and landed in a hollow, stopping.

Swinging around suddenly, Ling Chen found a shadow standing in the sky ahead, gazing at him gloomily.

”Your Excellency, who are you? Could you at least let me die knowing why?”

Ling Chen asked the airborne shadow in a clear voice.

”Humph, sly kid trying to pump me for information. You’re about to die; you don’t need to know much.”

The black-robed elder snorted, lifting his hand where ink-colored True Qi surged. Amongst the tide-like Qi, were extremely fine poison needle hidden weapons, hard to see with the naked eye, like living creatures - squirming in the void, hard to sense without Ling Chen’s keen perceptions.

”So you’re from the Tang Sect.”

Ling Chen’s eyes flickered; those adept at using hidden weapons so skillfully could only be from the Tang Sect.

”You must be after the Green Lotus Sword Song.”

Ling Chen’s eyes turned, speaking, and the elder’s attack paused. His words exposed the elder’s intention, halting immediate action.

”Let’s not beat around the bush; indeed, the Green Lotus Sword Song is in my possession.” Ling Chen flashed an innocuous smile.

”Oh?”

The elder’s eyes brightened; originally they only had suspicions, inferred from Ling Chen’s swordsmanship, wondering if he obtained the Green Lotus Sword Song. Ling Chen’s admission saved him a lot of trouble.

”Hand over the Green Lotus Sword Song and I can consider sparing your life, how about it!”

The elder grinned.

”That’s not possible.”

Ling Chen shook his head, ”After obtaining the Green Lotus Sword Song, I destroyed it. The incantation resides only in my mind now.”

”Heh, smooth-talking kid, do you think I’ll buy your nonsense?”

The elder sneered coldly, ”After I capture you, I have a hundred ways to extract what I want from your mouth.”

With that, he flung his sleeves, the tide of True Qi interspersed with countless poison needles surged forth, shooting fiercely toward Ling Chen.

Ling Chen held off numerous poison needle hidden weapons with the Red Sky Sword, yet some needles hit his body, burrowing into him like worms.

”Hehe, kid, hit by my Ant Biting Needles, your inner True Qi will soon be devoured cleanly, making you a useless shell anyone can control.”

The elder withdrew his aura, seeing Ling Chen as a captive now, devoid of resistance.
