Ling Tian Sword God

Chapter 594: Chapter 592: Matters of the Saint Witch Religion_1

After defeating the two great masters of the older generation, no one challenged Ling Chen for a month.

Ling Chen could finally settle down and focus on his cultivation.

Cultivating at the Cyan-robed Guest’s residence, Ling Chen felt his cultivation speed was indeed faster than that of ordinary people. Moreover, within the Cyan Robe Association, there was a place similar to the cultivation rooms in the City of Thunder.

But that place was not called a cultivation room, but the Gale Cave.

Like the Slaughter God Cave in the Black Market, the Gale Cave was also an ancient strange land.

In the Gale Cave, a potent, violent gang wind could form. If one could withstand the body tempering from this kind of wind, the True Qi in their body could achieve excellent cultivation effects.

WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH...

Deep in the Gale Cave, the wind was intense. Ling Chen, caught in its midst, felt as if his body was about to be torn apart and had to sustain his Protective True Qi to resist the wind.

The gang wind here seemed capable of penetrating Protective True Qi, infiltrating deep into the body and affecting the internal organs.

It really is an ancient strange land.

Ling Chen held a Wooden Sword and began to practice within the Gale Cave.

At first, Ling Chen could not adapt to the environment of the Gale Cave and was often injured by sudden storms. However, this situation naturally disappeared over time.

「Half a month later.」

Ling Chen stopped his cultivation; a visitor had arrived.

The visitor wore a black dress and possessed an extreme charm, her features alluring, exuding an air of mature grace. She was Lian Ji, the person in charge of the Saint Witch Religion in the Black Sand Land.

Upon arriving in the main hall, Ling Chen greeted Lian Ji with a salute, ”So it is Elder Lian Ji.”

He then waved his hand at the others, signaling for them to withdraw temporarily.

Only after all members of the Cyan Robe Association had departed did Lian Ji bow to Ling Chen, ”Your subordinate pays respects to the Saint Child.”

”No need for formalities.”

Ling Chen helped Lian Ji up, then asked in surprise, ”Why has Elder come here? Is there something you wish to report?”

”I cannot hide it from the Saint Child.”

Lian Ji nodded. ”Indeed, I have come this time to report an important matter. I’m afraid it may require the Saint Child to return to the Holy Church.”

”You want me to go back? What happened?”

Ling Chen’s expression changed slightly. He had originally thought that with Xia Yunxin’s ability, she would be able to feign compliance and manage the situation for the time being. He hadn’t expected a problem to arise.

”Could it be that old ghost, Sikong Yi, making a move?” Ling Chen asked with a grave expression.

”Not Sikong Yi. Sikong Yi hasn’t shown his face for a long time.”

Lian Ji shook her head. ”It’s said that Sikong Yi originally planned to deal with Yun Xin, but he has made no move for a long time. Now, it’s not just us; even those demons from Skypiercing Peak probably haven’t seen Sikong Yi in ages.”

”Oh? Sikong Yi has disappeared?”

Ling Chen was slightly surprised, then he frowned. The Master of Cyan Robe Association had also disappeared recently. Could there be a connection between the two?

In the Martial World, few could contend with Sikong Yi. Ling Chen didn’t believe Sikong Yi could have perished; he was more likely just caught up in other affairs.

”If it’s not Sikong Yi, then what is it?” Ling Chen asked.

Lian Ji’s beautiful eyes flickered. ”It’s Sikong Yi’s disciple, Xie Zhiqiu.”

”What? Xie Zhiqiu?”

Ling Chen was startled. Xie Zhiqiu had been possessed by the Undying Old Demon in the Bottomless Demon Abyss back then. How could he appear now? If this person truly appeared, he would be a hundred times more troublesome than Xie Zhiqiu himself. After all, Xie Zhiqiu was merely someone he had defeated before, while the Undying Old Demon was a demon at the Holy Realm level. Xia Yunxin is in danger.

Ling Chen wasn’t overly concerned about the survival of the Saint Witch Religion itself, but there were people within it he cared about; he couldn’t simply ignore this.

”Today’s Xie Zhiqiu is not the man he once was. The strength of the Skypiercing Peak Lineage cannot be underestimated. Give me some time; I need to gather the experts from the Cyan Robe Association.”

Learning his lesson from the last incident at Sky Void Palace, he wouldn’t act alone this time. He had the considerable backing of the Cyan Robe Association, a force that could undoubtedly be well utilized.

Lian Ji nodded. ”Alright, Saint Child, shall we set off early tomorrow morning?”

”Good! We depart early tomorrow morning.”

A glint flashed in Ling Chen’s eyes. This matter cannot be delayed. With Xie Zhiqiu possessed by the Undying Old Demon, the threat is likely immense. If they don’t set out soon, Xia Yunxin could be in danger.

Leaving the Law Enforcement Elder and a group of other Elders to guard the mountain pass, Ling Chen set off with Liu Feiyue and the two strongest Branch Masters of the Cyan Robe Association.

These two were named Duan Qingxu and Mo Shangke. The former possessed a cultivation at the Sky Apex Realm Third Layer, while the latter had also reached the Sky Apex Realm Second Layer.

Neither of these two had made a move during Linghu Yi’s attempted coup. However, Ling Chen didn’t hold it against them. After all, his position had been weak at the time; if he were to truly settle accounts, he feared sixty to seventy percent of the Cyan Robe Association’s members would have to be expelled.

Ling Chen’s group of four, accompanied by about a dozen Great Master Level Powerhouses, plus Lian Ji and her contingent, departed swiftly at dawn, heading towards Magic Fog Mountain in the Earth Country.

「...」

「Magic Fog Mountain.」

Since Xie Zhiqiu returned to the Saint Witch Religion two months ago, the entire Saint Witch Religion had fallen into turmoil.

Xie Zhiqiu had some unknown fortuitous encounter that greatly enhanced his power, allowing him to break through to the Sky Apex Realm. After returning to Skypiercing Peak, he gained the support of Sikong Yi’s former subordinates and killed the defiant Ghost God Honorific. There were indications he might become the next Sect Leader.

Struggling for control of the Saint Witch Religion, Skypiercing Peak and Saintess Hall were at each other’s throats. A war was imminent.

In this power struggle, Saintess Hall was clearly at a disadvantage. Xie Zhiqiu’s strength was terrifyingly formidable. The Ghost God Honorific, an expert at the Sky Apex Realm Third Layer, was nevertheless killed by Xie Zhiqiu on the spot.

Rumor had it that Xie Zhiqiu had received the true teachings of a Magic Way Saint. His strength progressed by leaps and bounds, enabling him to slay a Sky Apex Realm Third Layer expert despite having only just broken through to the Sky Apex Realm.

Despite the prevailing atmosphere of fear, Xie Zhiqiu suddenly announced he was entering secluded cultivation. However, Skypiercing Peak’s campaign to absorb other branches of the Saint Witch Religion did not cease.

「Sadness Hall.」

Numerous neutral branches of the Saint Witch Religion converged on Sadness Hall. Elders and Deacons gathered in large numbers to discuss important matters.

The Heartbroken Elder was the leader of the neutral faction in the Saint Witch Religion. He sat upon the Nine Dragon Throne, looking down at the assembly below, his brow deeply furrowed.

They were undoubtedly preparing to discuss the recent internal strife within the Saint Witch Religion. The conflict between the two major factions, Skypiercing Peak and Saintess Hall, was imminent. With increasing pressure from Skypiercing Peak, it would be exceedingly difficult for them to remain neutral.
