Chapter 560: Chapter 558: Expelling Linghu Yi_1

The upper echelons of the Cyan Robe Association and the people in the square all stared at Ling Chen, surprise written on their faces. This guy had actually announced his intention to expel Linghu Yi, the Vice Sect Leader, from the Cyan Robe Association.

This was madness.

Linghu Yi was the number one expert in the Cyan Robe Association, with deeply rooted power. Ling Chen was merely a nominal Sect Leader who had not even fully secured his position. For him to dare voice such audacious words, wanting to depose Linghu Yi, was utterly reckless.

”Haha, ridiculous! A child still wet behind the ears dares to speak of deposing me.”

After his shock, a mocking expression appeared on Linghu Yi’s face. He spread his hands disdainfully, saying, ”Let’s see who will listen to you. So what if you have the Green Emperor’s Order? Your words are like farts. In this Cyan Robe Association, they have no effect.”

”Is that so?” Ling Chen laughed noncommittally. At this moment, the number of people gathering behind him continued to increase. The number of his supporters, initially only about a third, had now grown to over half.

Damn it.

Watching as more and more experts of the Cyan Robe Association rallied behind Ling Chen, Linghu Yi’s expression grew increasingly sullen. His double-crossing actions earlier had clearly tarnished his credibility. Most members in the Cyan Robe Association were still righteous, and his recent actions had undoubtedly offended many.

Were it not for his absolute strength, capable of suppressing the entire assembly, even more people might be standing behind Ling Chen now.

The Elder of Law Enforcement had always supported Ling Chen, and after the latter defeated Meng Qi, this conviction had only grown stronger. He said, looking scornfully at Linghu Yi, ”Linghu Yi, you’ve already been expelled from the Cyan Robe Association. What are you still doing here? You should leave and go down the mountain.”

”Hmph, if you want to remove me, I will remove you first!” Linghu Yi ignored the Elder of Law Enforcement. He suddenly sprang into action, reappearing not far in front of Ling Chen, and thrust a finger towards Ling Chen’s brow.

”How dare you! Linghu Yi, you dare to disrespect your superior! This is rebellion!” The Elder of Law Enforcement stepped in front of Ling Chen, his gaze turning cold. He summoned his True Qi, condensing it in his palm into a Yin Yang Fish-shaped Palm Seal, which he thrust towards his opponent.

”Get lost!” A fierce glint flashed in Linghu Yi’s eyes. The True Qi at his fingertip grew increasingly powerful. The next moment, a beam of energy shot from his finger, striking the Elder of Law Enforcement’s Palm Power.

CRACK!

The Yin Yang Fish-shaped Palm Power was punctured, creating a hole. The finger attack struck the Elder of Law Enforcement’s palm, piercing straight through it.

A scream echoed as the Elder of Law Enforcement quickly withdrew his hand. Despite his cultivation at the Sky Apex Realm Second Layer, he was no match for Linghu Yi. He had thought that he would at least be able to contend with Linghu Yi for some time, but to his surprise, he was wounded in a single move.

This guy is tougher than I thought. Ling Chen was taken aback. The Elder of Law Enforcement was the strongest on their side, yet he couldn’t even handle one finger from Linghu Yi. Now, who could stand up against Linghu Yi?

”Hehe, kid, if you want to compete with me for the position of Sect Leader, you are far behind. Within the Cyan Robe Association, nobody can challenge me.” Linghu Yi finally revealed his true nature. He hadn’t wanted to take action himself initially, as it would inevitably give rise to suspicions of usurpation. But now, seeing that Ling Chen had already torn away all pretense, he couldn’t care less.

”If you had accepted my proposal, at least you would’ve been able to save your life. Now, you can’t even save your own life,” Linghu Yi sneered, his voice chilling.

”Linghu Yi, you dare to rebel! If the Cyan-robed Guest were to find out, do you know what your fate would be?!” Ling Chen drew a deep breath and then shouted sharply.

At the mention of the Cyan-robed Guest, a flicker of apprehension crossed Linghu Yi’s face. In the entire Cyan Robe Association, there wasn’t anyone he feared, except for one person—the Cyan-robed Guest.

He had previously sparred with the Cyan-robed Guest; the Cyan-robed Guest had used only a tree branch against his full strength, yet he was utterly defeated in three moves.

This incident had always cast a shadow over him. He dared to defy anyone, but not the Cyan-robed Guest.

If the Cyan-robed Guest really returned to the Cyan Robe Association and found out that his designated successor had been deposed, he might truly fly into a rage and even take action to eliminate him personally.

”Master, what are you afraid of?” Meng Qi, seemingly noticing Linghu Yi’s hesitation, quickly said, ”The Master of the Cyan Robe Association disappeared this time and even appointed a successor; he certainly won’t be coming back. If you don’t kill this kid, he’ll become a serious threat in the future. Given this kid’s potential, once he steps into the Sky Apex Realm, you might be powerless to kill him even if you wanted to!”

”You’re right.” Linghu Yi nodded, his resolve hardening. At the same time, a chilling killing intent emerged in his eyes.

”This kid, he must die today!” As his words fell, Linghu Yi’s aura suddenly erupted. His body seemed to generate a tempest, and a storm of Air Energy swirled around him as the epicenter, kicking up countless fragments of stone and debris.

”Protect the Sect Leader!” Liu Feiyue drew the Treasure Sword from his waist, standing in front of Ling Chen, fully on guard.

”Fei Yue! Even you insist on protecting this kid?” Linghu Yi frowned. ”You’re a veteran of this Cyan Robe Association. How have I treated you usually? Why are you also siding with an outsider?”

”My apologies, Vice Sect Leader Linghu.” Liu Feiyue was unmoved. ”For Junior Brother Wuchen to succeed as Sect Leader was my master’s command. I’m sure you know I have never violated my master’s orders. Moreover, this is his final command.”

”’In that case, I have no reason to hold back.’ Linghu Yi considered Liu Feiyue: strong, with infinite potential, and the Cyan-robed Guest’s direct Big Disciple. If he could win Liu Feiyue over, his claim to Sect Leader would be more legitimate, and his position more stable. Otherwise, never mind Ling Chen, Liu Feiyue alone would be a major threat.”

In that case, he might as well eliminate them both here.

A chilling murderous intent condensed in his eyes. A scabbard suddenly appeared at Linghu Yi’s waist. His left hand held the scabbard while his right rested on the hilt. His body crouched slightly, and behind him, the currents of air stirred by his imposing presence gradually took the form of an enormous True Qi Giant Wolf. Its green eyes fixed their gaze on Ling Chen’s location.

”Sword Drawing Style, Heavenly Net!”

Having locked onto Ling Chen ten li away, Linghu Yi abruptly drew his sword. Streaks of purple-gold sword light burst forth. This purple-gold sword light contained the ultimate profound meaning of splitting gold and severing jade, possessing unparalleled piercing power. Countless strands of purple-gold sword Qi intertwined, creating spatial ripples that spread throughout the area, resembling a vast net. Anyone caught within this net would be severely impacted, like a trapped insect.
