I Stopped Simping and the Heroines Lost Their Minds

Arthur sat in the desk chair exactly as Chloe had ordered.

She crossed the room and pulled the curtains shut before returning to the washbasin. The water clouded faintly as she scrubbed the remaining courtyard dust from her hands, wrists, and face.

Arthur watched her rinse the cloth twice.

”Are you all—”

”I spent the entire afternoon answering that question for other people.” Chloe dried her hands and left the towel beside the basin. ”I don’t want to answer it again.”

Arthur closed his mouth.

For several moments, the only sound in the room was water dripping from the cloth. Chloe rested both hands against the basin and breathed until her shoulders stopped trembling.

Arthur stayed where she had put him, his hands resting on his knees while she steadied herself at the basin.

When Chloe finally faced him, her healer’s coat was still hanging from the bedpost where she had left it. She crossed the room slowly and stopped between his knees.

Her fingers settled around the plain support band on his wrist. She checked the edge near his thumb, loosened one strap, and fastened it again.

”You’re still working,” Arthur said.

”I’m deciding whether you are fit to remain in my room.”

”And?”

Chloe looked at him for a long moment. Her hands were steadier now.

Instead of answering, she placed one knee beside his thigh and climbed onto his lap. She caught the front of his coat, pulled him toward her, and kissed him.

Arthur caught her waist as the kiss deepened. Chloe opened his coat and worked several buttons loose from his shirt, but when his hands hesitated at her sides, she took both wrists and guided them beneath her blouse.

His palms closed around her breasts through the thin fabric of her bra. Chloe pressed closer, moving slowly over the erection beneath his trousers while his thumbs rubbed across her nipples.

She broke the kiss long enough to pull off her blouse and bra. Both joined the healer’s coat on the bedpost before she returned to his lap.

Arthur bent to her chest, drawing one nipple into his mouth while his other hand worked over her breast. Chloe’s fingers tightened in his hair. The slow movement of her hips became rougher each time his tongue passed over the sensitive peak.

Arthur shifted forward as though preparing to stand.

Chloe pressed him back with both hands on his shoulders.

”I haven’t finished.”

She opened his trousers and wrapped her hand around his cock. Arthur slipped his fingers beneath her skirt, brushing aside her underwear until his thumb found her clitoris.

Her strokes remained steady, but her breathing turned uneven as her hips pressed into his hand.

Arthur slid two fingers inside her when she opened her thighs wider around him. He kept the movement slow at first, rubbing her clitoris with his thumb until she stopped stroking him and gripped his shoulder instead.

Her forehead dropped against his. Arthur felt her tighten around his fingers before the first broken sound escaped her.

Chloe held herself against him while the orgasm passed through her, her thighs closing around his hips and her breath warm against his mouth.

When the shaking subsided, Chloe caught her breath and stood up.

She unfastened her skirt and let it fall, then sat on the edge of the bed to pull off her boots and stockings. Standing again, she slid her underwear down, gathered the discarded garments, and left the neat pile of clothing near the washbasin.

Arthur moved the open medical books and loose pages from the bed to the desk, keeping Chloe’s notes together in the same order. By the time he turned back, she had opened the bedside drawer.

She retrieved a small glass vial containing a standard contraceptive draught and drank it in one quick swallow.

She took Arthur’s hand, guided him to the bed, and pushed him backward onto the mattress.

Chloe climbed over Arthur and settled across his waist. She drew his cock slowly through the wetness between her thighs before guiding the head to her entrance.

She lowered herself in stages. The stretch made her stop halfway, both hands pressing against his chest while she breathed through it. Arthur kept his grip loose at her hips and remained still until the tension left her face.

Chloe sank down the rest of the way and stayed there for several seconds, adjusting to the fullness before she began moving.

At first, she controlled every rise and fall herself. When Arthur tried to follow her rhythm, she pressed one palm firmly against his chest and made him wait. Only after she found a pace that suited her did she allow his hips to meet her downward movement.

Arthur reached between them and rubbed her clitoris in time with the slow rhythm. Chloe’s movements gradually became less measured. Her thighs began trembling against his sides, but she continued until the pleasure finally forced her to stop with him buried fully inside her.

Chloe slumped forward, dropping her forehead against his shoulder, her breath coming in ragged gasps.

”My legs are tired,” she admitted quietly. ”Move.”

Arthur wrapped his arms around her and rolled them over, pressing her onto her back. He reached up, grabbed a spare pillow, and slid it beneath her hips to correct the angle before resuming penetration with a steadier, deeper rhythm.

Chloe kept one hand tangled at the back of his neck and slipped her other hand between their bodies to rub her own clitoris.

Arthur held the steady pace, waiting for her cues. He only increased his speed and force when Chloe pulled his head closer and asked for more.

The harder rhythm pushed her over the edge. Her third orgasm hit, and she wrapped both legs tightly around his waist.

”Don’t pull away.”

Her legs tightened around his waist when Arthur slowed. She pulled him closer by the back of his neck, making the request impossible to misunderstand.

Arthur drove deep and came inside her. Chloe kept him close until the final pulses passed and the tension gradually left her legs.

Arthur remained close until Chloe’s legs loosened around him. When he finally withdrew, she stayed on the bed for several breaths before allowing him to help her stand.

By the time the bed was ready again, Chloe was struggling to keep her eyes open.

Arthur retrieved a clean nightshirt from her drawer and helped pull it over her head. She managed the first button before her fingers slipped from the second, so he fastened the rest for her.

They settled beneath the blanket, facing each other in the dark.

Chloe’s hand returned to the support band around his wrist.

”What happened in the courtyard was not a game,” she said. ”When I tell you to leave something alone in the field, I need you to listen.”

Arthur covered her hand with his. ”I did.”

”This time.”

”I’ll do it next time too.”

Chloe studied him as though deciding whether the answer passed inspection. Eventually, her grip around his wrist relaxed.

”I was terrified when that worker stopped breathing properly,” she admitted. ”I kept thinking I had forgotten something.”

”You hadn’t.”

”I could have.”

”But you didn’t.” Arthur moved closer without pulling his wrist from her hand. ”You kept him alive until Beatrice arrived, and then you kept working.”

Chloe closed her eyes. The tension that had survived the washing, the sex, and the silence finally left her shoulders.

She fell asleep with her fingers still wrapped around his wrist.

Several minutes later, she stirred against the pillow.

”Morwenna’s cross-squad exercise begins next week,” she murmured. ”Don’t arrive exhausted.”

Arthur looked at her closed eyes. ”You are the reason I’m still awake.”

”Stop complaining.”

Her breathing evened out again before he could answer.
