Chapter 408: Xiao Xiʼs Request

After Feng Ruxue told her about Ling Yunʼs request, Long Qiu immediately contacted her mother and persuaded her to talk to her father, for she knew that Long Wei listened to Xiao Xi more than her.

However, Xiao Xi was not immediately willing to help her, especially after she found out that Ling Yun was Feng Ruxueʼs husband, and she suspected that he was the one who gave the beauty returning pill to her daughter. She then asked Long Qiu to get the pill; if she managed to get one, she would help her talk to Long Wei.

Long Qiu was irritated by her motherʼs request, but she thought Ling Yun should not have a problem. If he really wanted to help the Zhang Clan win the battle for the position, he should be willing to give it to her mother.

Feeling that she had no other way, Long Qiu agreed to Xiao Xiʼs request and asked Feng Ruxue to tell Ling Yun about it.

Feng Ruxue directly relayed the matter to Ling Yun, and she also helped Long Qiu convince him.

After thinking about it carefully, Ling Yun agreed to Xiao Xiʼs condition, especially since the beauty returning pill wasnʼt too expensive for him now, and the advantage of gaining influence from the Zhang Clan was far more beneficial.

Long Qiu heaved a sigh of relief after Ling Yun agreed to that, and she directly contacted her mother again and told her about it, making Xiao Xi overjoyed.

After Feng Ruxue left their sight, Huo Ye asked. ”Hey, Qiuʼer, why does Ling Yun want to help the Zhang Clan?”

”How would I know?” Long Qiu replied with a shrug. ”You have heard that Big Sis Ruxue doesnʼt want to tell us about the reason behind Ling Yunʼs decision.”

”I think I know why Ling Yun wants to help the Zhang Clan.” The two women turned to Lei Lin with curious looks; she laughed at their reactions and explained. ”Hey, you already know that he used to work as a male prostitute; even Wen Qing was one of his old customers, right?”

”What does that have to do with his decision?” Long Qiu asked with a raised eyebrow.

Lei Lin then raised a few fingers. ”Several of Ling Yunʼs women are former customers of his, and I believe one of the women from the Zhang Clan is a former customer of his as well.”

”I see.” Long Qiu nodded in understanding.

However, Huo Ye suddenly said to them. ”How is that possible? The only young woman in the Zhang Clan is Zhang Xingcai, who already has a husband.”

Both women turned to Huo Ye and laughed out loud; Lei Lin then said. ”Yeye! All of Ling Yunʼs old customers already had a husband before, so do you think he wouldnʼt dare touch Zhang Xingcai?”

Long Qiu nodded in agreement with Lei Lin and was sure that Ling Yun would dare to do such a thing.

Huo Ye was speechless after hearing Lei Linʼs words but didnʼt doubt it either, especially since Ling Yun had so many women; even Feng Ruxue and Lian Bing also fell into his arms. ”So what are we going to do now? Are we still waiting for Ling Yun here?”

”Well? If I return to my clan empty-handed, my mother will be mad at me and lock me up.” Long Qiu replied with a low sigh.

Lei Lin also answered Huo Ye. ”I want to wait for my big sis to come back here. If you have other business, you can return to your clan first.”

”No, Iʼm too lazy to return to my clan.” Huo Ye shook her head. ”If my mother sees me coming back, she definitely wonʼt let me go again, and itʼs really boring to stay in my clan.”

Both women laughed at Huo Yeʼs answer, for she knew that Chen Qing was always like that, and she always felt worried if her daughter wandered outside.

Lei Lin then looked into the distance and shook her head. ”That Wen Qing is really stubborn; it would have been better if she stayed and waited for Ling Yun here.”

”Just let her be.” Long Qiu also shook her head, for she knows Wen Qingʼs character well.

Meanwhile, after Long Qiu told her that Ling Yun was willing to comply with her request, Xiao Xi immediately went to meet Long Wei. ”Husband! I want to talk to you about something.”

”Hmm?” Long Wei looked at his second wife, and he was surprised to see her expression. ”What did you want to talk to me about? And why is your expression so cheerful?”

Xiao Xi giggled at that, sat beside her husband, and hugged his arm. ”I want to talk about the Liang and Sun Clans with you.”

Long Wei was surprised to hear that, for he remembered that Xiao Xi never wanted to talk about the affairs of other clans. ”Whatʼs wrong with them?”

”I want you to stop supporting them.” Long Wei immediately frowned upon hearing that, and Xiao Xi hurriedly explained to her husband. ”I know you will react this way, but I have a better path for our clan.”

”A better path?” Long Wei asked in confusion.

”En.” Xiao Xi nodded to him. ”If you stop supporting the two clans, and you turn to support the Zhang Clan, then-”

”What?” Long Wei screamed and interrupted his wife. ”Are you crazy? Do you want me to support the Zhang Clan? This clan has had a good relationship with the Liang and Sun Clans for a long time, and they had a lot of trouble with that clan, but you asked me to support them instead.”

Xiao Xi sighed after hearing that and spoke to him again. ”If the Liang and Sun Clans were compared to the Feng Clan, which would you choose between the three of them?”

”Hmm?” Long Wei frowned at that. Of course, the Liang and Sun Clans were incomparable to the Feng Clan, and if he were to choose between them, he would naturally choose the latter.

”If you support the Zhang Clan, then we can have a better relationship with the Feng Clan, and that is a better path for our clan, right?” Xiao Xi said it with a confident smile.

Long Wei nodded in agreement with Xiao Xi. Although their clans have never been enemies, their relationship is not that good either. If they can establish a better relationship with the Feng Clan, then it will be beneficial for them, for Feng Ruxue is the best alchemist in the cultivator realm, and their younger generations depend on her pills.

Long Wei took a deep breath and asked her. ”Did the Feng Clan intend to support the Zhang Clan? But why did Feng Ruxue suddenly decide to support them?”

”Qiuʼer told me that Feng Ruxue will support the Zhang Clan, and she is on her way there to meet Zhang Wei.” Long Wei was surprised to hear that but still couldnʼt believe her sudden decision. Seeing her husbandʼs expression like that, Xiao Xi immediately explained again.

”Honestly, she agreed to support that clan because of Ling Yun, but Iʼm not sure about his reasoning because our daughter doesnʼt know about it either.”

”Ling Yun?” Long Wei was surprised again; he didnʼt expect a woman like Feng Ruxue to listen to a young man like him, especially since he was still inexperienced.

”En.” Xiao Xi nodded to him. ”What do you think about it? If we support the Zhang Clan, we will have good relations with Feng Ruxue and the Feng Clan. Besides, our daughter has often dual-cultivated with Ling Yun, it would be best if we pull him over to our side, and we can marry them off in the future.”

*Tap... Tap...*

”I think Sister Xi is right, Husband.” Yu Die said as she walked over to them and sat beside Xiao Xi. ”Although we have good relations with the Liang and Sun Clans, we should think more about our clanʼs future, and Feng Ruxue and the Feng Clan are much more beneficial for us. Moreover, Qiuʼer can also get a husband, so you donʼt need to worry about her future anymore.”

Although he knew that their words were true, Long Wei didnʼt immediately answer his wives and thought of the pros and cons first, and the two women also didnʼt bother him to think about it first.

After a while, Long Wei exhaled lightly and said to them. ”All right, I agree with the two of you, and I will contact Liang Kuang and Sun Qian directly to tell them about this matter.”

The two women smiled in satisfaction after hearing Long Weiʼs decision, but Yu Die glanced at Xiao Xi with a look full of curiosity, for she felt that she was hiding something from their husband.

Long Wei then stood up and walked out. ”Since Feng Ruxue is on her way to the Zhang Clan, I will go over there to discuss this matter with her and Zhang Wei.”

After Long Wei flew away from his clan, Yu Die asked Xiao Xi. ”What are you hiding from our husband?”

”Hehe, Sister Die, your observation is indeed good.” Xiao Xi replied with a chuckle. ”Ling Yun will give me the beauty returning pill in return, so I decided to help him.”

”Hmm?” You Die felt jealous after hearing that.

Xiao Xi put her arm around her and said. ”Donʼt worry; if Ling Yun becomes Qiuʼerʼs husband, I will help you get the pill.”
