Grandma nodded with satisfaction and added,

”It might help your chances in the succession.”

She smiled at me.

My eyes widened, and I immediately waved my hands in front of me.

”No, no, no!”

Before I could say anything else, Mom started explaining that I wasn’t participating in the succession.

But Grandma gave her a sharp glare.

”Seraphina, do you not want me to interact with my grandchildren?”

”Don’t you have work to do?”

Mom stopped mid-motion.

I looked at her in surprise.

This was the only person Mom couldn’t talk back to.

Even in front of the Empress, Mom was usually completely unyielding.

But now...

She was speechless.

Grandma turned toward me.

”So, what do you think?”

I scratched the back of my head and answered awkwardly.

”I’m not participating in the succession.”

Grandma’s eyes widened.

”Ah? Why?”

”You have far more talent than most people your age. Even compared to your sister, I’m sure you have a decent chance of succeeding in the succession.”

”If you’re worried about the age gap, don’t be.”

”Everyone will have an equal chance during the succession.”

I shook my head.

”It’s not my goal to become the head of the family.”

”It goes against my goals.”

Grandma looked at my determined expression before sighing.

”Okay, okay.”

”Then tell me.”

”What is your goal?”

A bright smile appeared on my face.

”To become the strongest and live a lazy life.”

Grandma stared at me in bewilderment.

Then she looked toward Mom.

Mom simply nodded with a smile.

Grandma suddenly burst out laughing.

”Oh, is that so?”

”That’s a great goal to have, Young Gray.”

”If only I had a goal like that when I was your age.”

She smiled warmly.

”And you have a clear determination to become the strongest.”

”I can see that you’re actually working toward it.”

I nodded.

Grandma then looked toward Luna.

”What about you, dear?”

”What is your goal?”

Luna blinked and pointed at herself.

”Me?”

Grandma nodded.

”Yes, you.”

Luna thought for a moment before answering.

”I really haven’t thought about it that much.”

”But if I have to say something...”

”It would be to become stronger and experience as many things as possible in life.”

”When I’ve been spending time with Gray and everyone else these past few years, I’ve experienced so much.”

”More than I experienced during my entire first ten years.”

”So I want to become stronger, discover new things, and experience everything I can.”

Grandma nodded with satisfaction.

”Hmm...”

”You two really match each other.”

”One wants to become the strongest while lazing around...”

”And the other wants to experience as many things as possible while becoming stronger.”

She smiled mischievously.

”Neither of you wants to become the head of the family, right, little Gray?”

My eyes lit up, and I nodded immediately.

Grandma simply smiled before looking at the Space Ring again.

”Hmm...”

”This looks like a normal ring at first glance.”

”I can only tell that it’s a Space Ring because of my Perception.”

She examined it carefully.

”So how is this different from other Space Rings, little Gray?”

”You said time doesn’t flow inside this ring.”

”How did you test that?”

I showed her the candle.

”Using this.”

”I lit the candle and placed it inside the ring.”

”Then I waited for a few moments before taking it out.”

”It was still in exactly the same state as when I put it inside.”

Grandma nodded.

”Hmm.”

”That’s a good way to test it.”

Then she injected some of her energy into the ring.

She carefully observed it for a moment before nodding.

”You’re right.”

”The space inside this ring contains nothing except space itself.”

”No time.”

”No gravity.”

”No air.”

”Nothing.”

I nodded.

Grandma handed the ring back to me.

By then, Mom noticed that we were already getting close and quietly left us to it.

Grandma didn’t even notice that Mom had left.

Instead, she looked at us and asked,

”So, how are you going to decorate the ring?”

”Do you need help?”

I looked toward Luna.

She looked at me.

We both nodded.

”Yeah.”

”We still need to choose a design for the ring.”

Grandma immediately raised her hand.

Ice began forming around it, taking the shape of several sharp needles.

But Luna and I immediately stopped her.

”No, Grandma.”

”We need to finish this ring by ourselves.”

”We want to give it to Amy as something we made completely by ourselves.”

”If I let you help, it would be cheating.”

Grandma smiled.

The sharp ice needles around her hand disappeared.

”Alright, alright.”

She handed the ring back to me.

”I’ll just observe from the side.”

”I already met your sister earlier.”

”She’s getting ready for the succession.”

Luna suddenly asked,

”Did you meet my sister too?”

Grandma shook her head.

”No.”

”Amy did mention that her friend had gone somewhere for some work.”

”That must be your sister.”

Luna nodded.

Grandma then looked toward us.

”So, what design are you planning to make?”

Luna answered this time.

”We’re planning to make it a leaf pattern.”

Grandma nodded.

I handed the ring to Luna while I thought about how to carve the pattern.

I could use a tool, but my Perception would make sure every carving was perfectly aligned.

Still, I didn’t want to take any chances.

So I decided to test it on a normal silver ring first.

I formed a dark claw around my hand and carefully carved the pattern into the ring.

Grandma watched my movements silently.

She observed my proficiency with Darkness and the precision of my control.

Surprisingly, my first attempt came out great.

I looked toward Luna.

”Can I have the silver ring?”

She handed it to me while watching intently.

I formed another Dark Claw and tried to carve the silver ring.

Nothing happened.

Grandma watched me for a moment before smiling.

”You used several things to strengthen the ring.”

”So your normal Darkness isn’t strong enough to damage it.”

Then Grandma suddenly asked,

”Do you know about Aura?”

”I can sense Aura coming from that ring.”

”You must know how to use it.”

”Try using it.”

I nodded.

I formed a Darkness Claw around my hand and coated it with Space Aura.

Grandma watched closely.

Her eyes suddenly widened.

”Oh...”

”You can already use Elemental Aura?”

”And not just any Aura...”

”Space Aura?”

She stared at me in disbelief.

”You’re the most talented youngster I’ve ever seen.”

I smiled at that.

Then I began carving the ring.

I used my Perception to its maximum.

At the same time, I augmented myself with Abyssal Energy.

The moment I started carving—

The silver ring felt like butter beneath my Dark Claw.

I carefully finished the entire pattern.

Then I showed it to Luna and Grandma.

They both carefully examined the ring.

Luna nodded.

”That’s beautiful.”

”I think Sister Amy will like it.”

I nodded.

Grandma nodded as well.

”It really is beautiful.”

”Alright.”

”How about we go get something to eat and drink?”

”I have a lot to catch up on with you two.”

I nodded.

I took out a small wooden ring box and carefully placed the Space Ring inside.

Then I took out several drinks and different kinds of food from my Space Storage.

Grandma looked at the pile.

”How about we eat at the dining table, little Gray?”

”This place isn’t exactly suitable for eating.”

I looked around.

Raw materials were scattered everywhere.

There were tools, workbenches, and various pieces of equipment throughout the room.

Then it hit me.

Luna and I had become so used to eating while working that we barely noticed anymore.

Grandma, however, definitely wasn’t used to it.

I scratched the back of my head.

”Oh...”

”Sorry.”

”I just got used to eating while working.”

Grandma smiled and gently brushed my hair.

”Hmm.”

”That’s not good.”

”You’re at home, so you should act like it.”

I nodded.

We left the laboratory and headed toward the dining table.

I waited for Luna to take the lead before following behind her.

I didn’t want to exclude her from the conversation.

Luna smiled and took the lead.

Soon, all three of us arrived at the dining table.

Grandma gave a few instructions to the kitchen staff to prepare some light snacks.

Once we sat down, Grandma looked at us.

”So, you two can take the rest of today off.”

”We’ll start training tomorrow.”

”Do you have any plans for today?”

Luna shook her head.

I nodded.

”Yeah.”

Grandma raised an eyebrow.

”Oh?”

”What is it?”

I answered immediately.

”I’m going to fill the ring with food.”

”And I’m going to cook.”

Grandma’s eye twitched.

”You cook?”

She asked suspiciously.

Before I could answer, Luna stepped in front of me and defended me.

”Gray’s cooking is great.”

”I’ve tasted his food many times.”

Grandma raised an eyebrow.

”Oh?”

”My grandson can cook?”

”Alright.”

”Then your Grandma will taste your cooking too.”

I nodded.

Then I looked toward Luna.

”Do you want to join?”

Luna scratched the back of her head.

”I’m clueless about cooking.”

I simply shrugged.

”It’s fine if you want to come.”

”I won’t insist.”

”But it’ll be a lot of fun.”

”I’ll give you instructions, and you can do them.”

”I’ll even make Amy cook as well.”

Luna smiled and nodded.

”Hmm, okay.”

”I’m joining.”

Grandma simply watched our natural interaction with a smile.

Then she asked,

”So, how have you two trained until now?”

”Who taught you?”

”What kinds of skills do you use?”

”What sword arts do you practice?”

”Give me a brief introduction.”

I thought for a moment before answering.

”Ah...”

”I have many skills.”

”But I don’t actually have a sword art.”

”Luna doesn’t have one either.”

”We created our own.”

”All the skills and movement arts I have were created by me.”

”I didn’t use a single skill scroll or anything like that.”

”I only used a basic sword art manual to lay my foundation.”

”After that, I began improving by myself.”

Luna nodded.

”I didn’t have a sword art either.”

”And I don’t really like the idea of learning skills from scrolls like Gray.”

”So all of my strength was created by myself.”

”I can also use Aura with all three of my elements.”

Silence filled the room.
