Chapter 3097: Chapter 3098: Intelligence Network

After hearing the Observer’s request, Angel pondered for a moment and said, ”Sorry, I can’t give a definite answer. I can’t control the specifics of the intelligence I receive. However, if I get information related to the Lofte World later on, I will notify you immediately.”

Although Angel did not give a definitive answer, the Observer could understand. When he confirmed that Angel’s source of intelligence was related to the Dalmatian, he speculated that Angel was passively receiving information. Now that Angel confirmed it himself, he wasn’t surprised.

Angel’s willingness to notify him when relevant intelligence comes in is quite good... although it still falls a bit short of his ideal.

In the following time, Angel casually chatted with the Observer about other topics.

Perhaps because the Observer had a favor to ask, he felt some guilt, and the questions Angel asked later were seriously answered by the Observer.

For example, Angel inquired about some secrets concerning the Hante World.

The Observer meticulously explained all the intelligence he knew to Angel.

They chatted quite pleasantly, at least from Angel’s perspective, as he gained a lot of insider information.

Until the stage lights in the theater turned on, and a large group of people in work clothes came in to start rehearsing ”Night Cats,” at which point their conversation began to fade.

And it was upon seeing the musical’s rehearsal that Angel realized the Observer’s presence in the theater was truly just to watch the show ”Night Cats.”

Afterward, the Observer stayed at the theater, while Angel bid farewell and left.

Though the Observer invited Angel to watch ”Night Cats” together, Angel still declined. He had watched the debut performance of ”Night Cats,” and overall it was pretty good... but not to the extent that he wished to see it multiple times.

Before Angel left, the Observer called out to him and asked Angel one last question.

Angel thought to himself, ”What’s to come is inevitable,” thinking the Observer would definitely ask about the Wilderness of Dreams, but the Observer still didn’t.

He only sought Angel’s opinion: Could his friend also enter the Wilderness of Dreams?

According to the Observer, his friend is a Wizard from the Origin World who is about to head to the North Cross Region. Currently, he is stationed near the Southern Domain.

Angel did not refuse him.

Anyway, it won’t be long before the Wilderness of Dreams becomes public, and there’s now no need to keep it under wraps.

The Observer thanked Camilleon, and Angel did not linger longer; he went offline directly.

After going offline, Angel paused to think for a moment, his mind recalling the conversation he had with the Observer.

Even if he could find a way to comply with the Observer’s request, Angel could not give a definitive answer, because linking the void network using a Void Traveler was somewhat too over-the-top.

Moreover, based on what the Observer said, Angel also learned about the difficulties in transmitting messages through the void.

Even randomly acquiring some void information is terrifying enough; obtaining fixed information from a certain location, which is also entirely real, is bound to be envied.

Even if Angel kept attributing everything to the Dalmatian, it doesn’t change the fact that he is the outlet for the intelligence stream.

He understands the reasoning that ”a treasure invites theft.”

Therefore, that’s why Angel gave the Observer such a vague answer.

But setting aside the Observer’s request, Angel’s conversation with the Observer also sparked some personal thoughts.

The Observer confirmed the accuracy of Wang Wang’s intelligence, indicating that Wang Wang’s information is useful. Perhaps he could indeed create a void intelligence network using Wang Wang?

Such intelligence doesn’t necessarily have to be exchanged for benefits; it can be used to accumulate personal knowledge and stay informed about any void changes.

Upon thinking this, Angel stepped out of the deep quiet chamber and fetched the dazed Heideland, who was outside watching ”Anomalous Fire Alchemist” with a small companion.

After bringing him back to the quiet chamber, Angel instructed Heideland to connect to the void network.

Once logged into the void network, Angel did not hesitate and chatted with Wang Wang about today’s events, expressing his thoughts.

Wang Wang was somewhat reluctant for Angel to ask him to watch over the situation in the Lofte World... Most Void Travelers are very active, while few, like Heideland, can settle down. If real-time monitoring of the intelligence in the Lofte World is desired, a Void Traveler would need to permanently reside there, which not many would agree to do.

Though Wang Wang could forcefully request a companion to do it, it is unwilling to impose such commands.

”I can ask my tribe, but there likely won’t be anyone willing to stay in the Lofte World permanently... it’s very dangerous there.”

For the second time today, Angel heard claims about the dangers of the Lofte World and couldn’t help but ask, ”Do you also find it dangerous there? Have you been there?”

Wang Wang: ”I have been to the Lofte World and sensed the power of the Evil Gods. It’s strong and chaotic... Even just observing them, you are surrounded by streams of terrifying information. Fortunately, those Evil Gods aren’t interested in weaklings like me; otherwise, if they merely used information streams against me, I probably couldn’t withstand it.”

Angel: ”Is it only the Evil Gods that are dangerous? What about the Lofte World itself?”

Angel vividly remembers that Evil Gods generally do not descend into the Lofte World but linger on its periphery.

After pondering for a moment, Wang Wang replied, ”I also don’t particularly like the Lofte World itself. Though I didn’t feel any danger within the Lofte World, I deeply dislike the atmosphere there.”

”Atmosphere?” What sort of atmosphere?

Wang Wang thought for a long time to find the right words, then said, ”A kind of despair-like atmosphere, there seems to be no hope in sight. It reminds me of... those worlds on the verge of fusion.”

”Worlds about to merge, do you mean planar fusion?”

Wang Wang: ”That’s right, those worlds about to be merged are filled with a similar feeling of despair, which amounts to an Apocalypse Catastrophe for them.”

Angel knows about planar fusion; each phase of planar fusion is tough for the world being merged.

The first phase, Vase of the Garden, involves the constant fragmentation of spaces within the merging world, causing spatial disasters in the world being merged; the second phase, the Road of Infinity, is when the World Consciousness invades the merging world, harvesting strong energy creatures there; and the third phase, Moment of Plunder, doesn’t even require explanation as its name is quite straightforward.

For the merging world, this is a joyful event; but for the world being merged, it is nothing short of an apocalypse.

Angel: ”Is the constant state of the Lofte World... an apocalyptic atmosphere?”

Wang Wang: ”Yes. There... frankly, I don’t like it.” Precisely because of this, Wang Wang does not believe there would be other Void Travelers in its tribe willing to stay there and act as intelligence relays.

Angel: ”Why has the Lofte World become this way?”

Irritably, Wang Wang replied, ”I’ve only been there once, how would I know? However, I advise you not to become interested in the Lofte World, it’s too dangerous there.”

Angel silently mused, ”Is it as dangerous as the Nightmare Realm?”

Wang Wang: ”...” Are you kidding me?

Wang Wang: ”I’ll go ask my tribe now, and give you an answer later.”

About five minutes later, Wang Wang replied to Angel, and the answer was unsurprising: ”No one is willing to reside in the Lofte World.”

Angel understood as well. Void travelers are mostly timid, and the Lofte World, to them, is equivalent to a source of danger, making it nearly impossible for any to take up permanent residence.

However, in the next second, Wang Wang threw in a caveat: ”But, in a certain area near the Lofte World, my kindred are stationed, and the information about that Blood Tree earlier was sent by them. If it’s just a distant observation of the changes in the Lofte World, I can have them keep an eye out for you.”

Angel: ”They’re willing to stay near the Lofte World?”

I thought you said Void travelers do not want to go to the Lofte World? Isn’t it dangerous?

Soon, Wang Wang provided an answer: ”The Lofte World is dangerous, but the nearby area is relatively safe. Moreover, due to the presence of the Evil God, that large area, including several surrounding worlds, seldom faces rampant void creatures, and even the Void Devourer doesn’t dare to approach.”

The nemesis of Void travelers is the Void Devourer.

Because the Void Devourer fears the power of the Evil God and dares not approach, it instead creates a safe living space for the Void travelers.

Wang Wang: ”Moreover, my kind are quite weak, and the Evil God isn’t very interested in us. We just wander at the edges of the nearby area and never encounter the Evil God, so it’s rather safe.”

After listening to Wang Wang’s explanation, Angel had reason to suspect that the Void Blood Tree, known for draining vitality as per the Observer, ignored the Void travelers probably because they’re too weak and not worth the effort to drain.

Though weakness is an original sin, being excessively weak—so much that you are akin to Dust—serves as a kind of alternative camouflage.

Angel: ”A distant observation will suffice, but do pay attention to your own safety.”

Wang Wang hummed twice: ”Of course.”

For Void travelers, safety is paramount; if the Void Devourer wouldn’t stay away from the vicinity of the Lofte World, they wouldn’t bother stationing there either.

Angel considered that he had now completed the Observer’s instructions, yet he did not intend to inform the Observer.

It’s better to let the Observer believe he can only ”randomly obtain information.”

However, if a significant change does occur in the Lofte World, he would talk to the Observer, but there’s no need to mention anything else.

Next, Angel and Wang Wang continued talking about establishing a Void intelligence network.

Wang Wang had no particular objection to this because Angel’s plan was effectively non-existent.

The so-called Void intelligence network was merely having Wang Wang and its kind transmit the information they encountered to him, which wasn’t a hassle.

Wang Wang was actually now the exchange center for information, receiving various bits of information from its kind daily; some were actively sent, and some were passed on passively. It was already accustomed to handling this massive amount of data.

Angel only asked for a copy of a portion of it; this was practically a piece of cake for Wang Wang.

Of course, Angel wasn’t entirely random; he also had some specific intelligence he was concerned about.

For example: dimensional fusion.

Angel asked the Void travelers to keep an eye on whether there were any cases of dimensional fusion nearby the Southern Domain and to notify him if so.

This wasn’t difficult for the Void travelers.

But for Angel, finding a stable place of dimensional fusion was very challenging.

And dimensional fusion was very important to Angel; it was the essential energy for the activation of the Eye of the Sky.

Though Angel’s research on the Eye of the Sky was still at a standstill, it could be reasonably concluded that if he wants to fulfill Mentor Jon’s wish of returning him to Earth, researching the Eye of the Sky was the best approach.

Moreover, activating the Eye of the Sky was also beneficial for Angel; The Gate of Void was an ability granted to Angel by the Eye of the Sky.

However, although Angel asked Wang Wang to watch for dimensional fusion, actually obtaining the energy produced during the fusion was something Angel needed to think long-term about.

After all, his strength hadn’t yet reached the level where he could intervene unchallenged.

...

Afterward, Angel received a massive amount of miscellaneous data information from Wang Wang, organized it slightly, and exited the Void network.

Currently, this information wasn’t of great use, but collecting it could be beneficial in the future.

Angel rubbed the hard-working Heideland and then, amidst its dazed expression, returned it once more to the world of ”Anomalous Fire Alchemist.”

After greeting Olao, Angel hurriedly returned to his quiet chamber.

Because the time he had agreed upon with Laplace was drawing near.

Angel took out the Indestructible Heart Mirror, but this time, he did not enter the Heart Space; instead, he entered Rabbit Mountain through the auxiliary mirror.

Soon, Rabbit Mountain sent out a ”permission to pass without hindrance.”

When Angel appeared again, he was already inside Rabbit Mountain.

Surrounded by a vast white emptiness, Angel looked around and saw Laplace and Glaipnir, who had arrived in advance, but Rabbit Girl was nowhere to be seen.

”Where’s Little Laplace?” Angel walked over and curiously asked.

Laplace: ”She’s still dealing with Eliminators in the Wilderness of Dreams and hasn’t come out.”

Angel sensed through the Ability Tree and found that the Rabbit Girl hadn’t gone offline; she was still fighting on the front lines today.

While sensing the Rabbit Girl’s situation, Angel also took a moment to sense the Dream Realm Indigenous People.

What surprised Angel was that the number of Indigenous People had almost reached five hundred, and in such a short time, Charles Palace had found so many people, which was beyond his expectations.

But thinking it over, it made sense. The reality realm corresponding to Charles Palace had at least a population of over a million, and selecting people who were dying or severely ill to enter the Crystal Origin of Dreams through Moss Stone Mirror, five hundred people was relatively few.

It’s estimated that Charles Palace had conducted preliminary screening, or else there would have been more people entering.

It’s worth mentioning that due to Angel’s prior setup, the people who entered afterward were basically all in the designated underground space.

Though five hundred people weren’t many for the underground space, for these new residents, encountering others in the cold and unfamiliar Crystal Origin World, especially those from their homeland, was undoubtedly a good thing.

However, for Angel, the placement of these five hundred people required careful consideration.

If it were just the original dozens, casually building a few houses would suffice, but for five hundred, a new design was necessary...
