Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 3057: Chapter 3058: Feedback

”Special ability?” Lucia subconsciously rubbed her chin, falling into deep thought.

After a few seconds, Lucia shook her head and said, ”As far as I remember, he hasn’t shown any special abilities. Moreover, he spends most of his time teaching in the Starry District, where fighting is prohibited. Even if he had special abilities, he wouldn’t have the chance to display them.”

”Teaching?” Angel caught an unexpected term.

Teaching is usually between teachers and students. Could it be that Aex has accepted students in the Starry District?

Lucia seemed to grasp what Angel was thinking, laughed, and shook her head, ”Not the kind of teaching you’re thinking of, but rather a teaching mission.”

Although the Starry District is ”parasite” in various Wizard Markets, its internal functions are fundamentally not much different from those of Wizard Markets. There are regular trade fairs, periodic transcendental gatherings, a public announcement stand for important notices, and a task issuance hall... and so on.

These places, in terms of comprehensiveness, surely can’t compare to similar functional buildings in the Wizard Market.

But the Starry District is spread throughout the Gumman Kingdom, and many functions are shared. For example, if you accept a public task in Starry District Thirteen, after completing the task, due to various reasons, if it’s inconvenient to submit it there, you can choose to submit the task in any other Starry District.

In other words, the Starry District has connected the task chain across the entire Gumman Kingdom.

Overall, the constraints of the Starry District are not that large; nevertheless, its diversity is certainly much less compared to the outside world. However, for some wizards who have monotonous needs, the functions of the Starry District are already sufficient.

Anyway, Aex was able to teach because he took on a teaching mission at the Task Hall.

These teaching missions are issued by Starry District Number One, and the threshold for teaching is very low, mainly to deepen attraction to the district, as well as enhance the sense of belonging for some ”aspiring individuals.”

Generally speaking, teaching missions are accepted by managers from various Starry Districts.

After accepting a mission, the Starry District will announce some teaching directions of the educator, and those interested in learning from various districts will come forward.

For example, if Lucia accepted a mission and he is willing to teach Potionology, then the Task Hall in all the Starry Districts would display: ”A wizard from a certain district will teach Potionology basics on a certain date at a certain time, and those meeting the attendance threshold can go independently.”

Usually, the attendance threshold refers to the VIP card level of the Starry District and the restrictions set by the educator.

Overall, teaching missions are a form of disguised welfare provided by the Starry District. However, not many people can actually enjoy this benefit, as the attendance threshold is quite high.

Starry District Thirteen hasn’t conducted teaching for many years, mainly because Lucia spends all his time researching new Witch’s Soup, and doesn’t want to waste time teaching.

Recently, however, there have been some changes in Starry District Thirteen... because Aex came.

Aex took on a teaching mission.

Hearing this, Angel couldn’t help but ask, ”Are teaching missions in the Starry District not restricted to outsiders?”

Lucia nodded: ”Not restricted, but hardly any outside wizards have accepted them. I also don’t understand what Aex is thinking, why he would take a teaching task.”

Angel: ”Does he have ulterior motives?”

Lucia hesitated for a moment and said, ”Probably not. I initially had some doubts about Aex’s intentions, so I secretly observed his teaching... it’s all very normal teaching.”

”I also evaluated Aex to some extent, and concluded that: his personality might just be like that, eager to be a teacher.”

Angel thought about Aex’s ”good person” persona, which seemed quite reasonable.

Putting aside the incomprehensible parts for now, Angel asked again: ”So, what is the general content of his teaching?”

Lucia pondered for a moment and said, ”The content taught isn’t fixed. He adjusts his teaching according to the students attending the class. Mostly, it’s basic courses and enlightenment on transcendental knowledge... However, he hasn’t taught technically strong subjects like Alchemy or Magic Patterns, probably since he hasn’t delved into them.”

Listening to it this way, it doesn’t really sound suspicious.

Angel thought for a moment and then asked: ”Has there been anything strange during his teaching? Or has he received any negative feedback from students?”

Lucia: ”No. His popularity is actually a big factor due to his teaching.”

Just as the words fell, Lucia suddenly remembered something: ”Oh, I just thought of one thing. Although he hasn’t received any negative feedback, I’ve heard some odd evaluations.”

”Odd evaluations?” Angel: ”What kind of evaluations?”

Lucia: ”It relates to the mystery surrounding Aex that I mentioned before.”

”Apparently, Aex has demonstrated high-level combat techniques exclusive to the Bloodline Wizards in front of some Bloodline Apprentices, which made those Bloodline Apprentices very excited... but Aex denies being a Bloodline Wizard himself.”

”The apprentices don’t believe him and spread what happened back then.”

Angel: ”Has he taught Bloodline Apprentices?”

Angel distinctly recalled Lucia saying earlier that he seemed to have a prejudice against the bloodline side, right?

Lucia also understood Angel’s implication, smiled, and said: ”He does have different treatment towards bloodline apprentices, but only ’specific’ bloodline apprentices.”

Towards specific bloodline apprentices he has a prejudice? What does that mean?

Lucia: ”I can’t specifically summarize who these specific people are; however, those Bloodline Apprentices Aex is willing to teach are either ones who haven’t integrated a bloodline yet, or those who’ve integrated abyssal bloodlines.”

”I feel he might be fond of abyssal creatures?”

More willing to teach bloodline apprentices who’ve integrated abyssal bloodlines? Is this fondness? Angel personally feels it’s more like aversion to abyssal creatures.

He’s happy to teach apprentices who have integrated abyssal bloodlines, meaning that he’s happy to see more abyssal creatures being killed, doesn’t this imply aversion?

Nevertheless, aside from knowing he may not really like abyssal creatures, Angel still can’t comprehend the deeper implications of Aex’s distinct treatment.

Angel pondered for a while and asked: ”You mentioned earlier that he has imparted high-level bloodline techniques but denies being a Bloodline Wizard?”

Lucia nodded: ”Exactly.”

Angel felt that this statement seemed familiar, and looked at Dox beside him.

Dox lightly nodded to Angel, then turned to Lucia and said, ”This technique... could it be Consecutive Slash?”

Lucia was no stranger to Dox, and he guessed that the friend Angel mentioned earlier in the Witch’s Soup store was probably Dox.

He was indifferent to Dox, but Dox’s question indeed surprised Lucia a little.

”How did you know it was Consecutive Slash?”

In other words, Dox was correct.

Dox: ”I’ve seen him use Consecutive Slash before.”

”So, you’ve seen it before, and rightfully so, you are also a Bloodline Wizard.” Lucia paused and asked curiously, ”Is Consecutive Slash really that difficult?”

Dox nodded, ”This technique... At the current stage, it’s very difficult for non-Bloodline Wizards to master.”

Lucia: ”Since Consecutive Slash is difficult for non-Bloodline Wizards to learn, why does he deny being a Bloodline Wizard?”

The crowd fell silent.

This question was something Angel and Dox also wanted to know.

At this moment, the Black Earl flew over from the side.

Angel saw the Black Earl, his eyes brightening... They couldn’t determine Aex’s association, likely because of insufficient knowledge, but Dox was different. As one of the most elite Wizards in the Southern Domain, what hadn’t he seen?

With this thought, Angel began to inquire about Aex from the Black Earl.

The Black Earl initially intended to ask Angel about their experiences in Paradise Land and to inquire Lucia about Stop and others’ intel to deduce the reason for the array’s failure.

But upon hearing Angel’s description of Aex’s situation, the Black Earl suddenly had an inspiration grasping key information.

Stop is an audio-based Wizard, skilled in Word Spirit. Witch Sharon is a Space Series Wizard, adept in confinement.

Stop’s ability is very difficult to break through the confinement array; while Witch Sharon might have a chance to break it, the confinement array set by the Black Earl was specifically arranged against Sharon’s spatial ability.

The Black Earl was confident that the confinement array would likely be effective against Witch Sharon.

This way, both Stop and Witch Sharon seemingly couldn’t break through the confinement array, leaving only one answer.

The mysterious muscular man, Aex.

The Black Earl recalled earlier in the arena, when he almost had a way to deal with Stop, yet at the crucial moment, Aex broke through the encirclement and got to Stop.

Directly in front of everyone, he took Stop away.

This is something an ordinary Wizard couldn’t accomplish. Perhaps Aex is the true key to breaking the confinement array.

With this thought, the Black Earl further inquired about Aex’s information, which was exactly what Angel wished for, gladly agreeing.

The Black Earl first inquired from Lucia.

Lucia naturally dared not conceal anything, recounting the information previously shared with Angel.

Immediately afterward, the Black Earl looked at Dox.

Dox: ”Aex’s display of Consecutive Slash—this strikes me as pivotal... It very likely involves the Wild Realm’s Wild God.”

Dox said the first part aloud, but the latter was conveyed through the Mind Ribbon.

Mainly because it concerned matters of Otherworld, and seeing the Birlos Family eager to drag others into trouble, they might think they struck gold hearing half an incomplete sentence.

If at that time, the Extreme Sect investigated, Dox would undoubtedly be entangled.

Therefore, to keep simple matters from getting complicated and to avoid involving himself in Extreme Sect affairs, he chose to communicate via Mind Ribbon.

The Black Earl understood Dox’s intent and, after listening to his narrative via Mind Ribbon, just pondered slightly, not giving much comment on Aex’s Consecutive Slash.

Finally, the Black Earl turned his gaze towards Angel.

Angel: ”They’ve said all they could, I don’t have any additional information. However, there’s an ability Aex demonstrated that caught my attention.”

The Black Earl: ”What kind of energy?”

Angel: ”An Iridescent Silk Thread emitting strange energy.”

With those words, Angel simulated the scene where Aex used the Iridescent Silk Thread with illusion technique.

”What I don’t understand is why this ability could break through my illusionary realm; most importantly, it seemed to absorb the illusion technique, but the illusion node didn’t show much disturbance in my perception... This makes me very concerned about how he broke my illusion technique?”

Angel’s remarks didn’t resonate deeply with Lucia and the others; they didn’t find it particularly remarkable.

Getting an illusion technique disrupted isn’t unusual, right? Their abilities can also be broken, not to mention, it was merely a Mist Illusionary Realm.

Yet, the Black Earl, understanding Angel’s prowess, especially in illusion techniques, knew better.

Though the Black Earl didn’t understand why the Illusion Demon Island’s illusion was so distinctive, he felt that Angel was nearing his mentor’s level in terms of illusion quality.

Sanders’s illusions were formidable enough that even the Black Earl might fall if he encountered them directly.

It was evident that Angel’s illusion skills were definitely not lacking.

The opponent casually disrupting Angel’s illusion naturally caught his attention.

After hearing Angel’s account, the Black Earl slightly pondered: Consecutive Slash, Iridescent Silk Thread, method of breaking illusionary realms, spatial ability... Aex showcased a diverse array of abilities, all quite mystical.

Could these peculiar capabilities have some intrinsic connection?

The Black Earl continuously sifted through various known associated abilities in his mind; as time slipped away unnoticed, a spark of inspiration suddenly flashed across the shallow waters of his consciousness.

”Aex... could he be a Wizard of that association?”

...

Elsewhere, in an uninhabited dark forest, an Iridescent Door appeared out of thin air.

Seconds later, the Iridescent Door slowly closed. Meanwhile, three Wizards, each dressed differently, appeared in the forest.

They were indeed Stop and the others who had left Paradise Land.

However, unlike the situation in Paradise Land, although the real injury was to Witch Sharon, as soon as they landed, before Sharon felt any anomaly, Aex collapsed onto the ground, panting heavily.

Stop seemed well acquainted with Aex, not asking about his situation immediately but instead began investigating their current location on his own.

After a while, Stop stated calmly, ”We’ve already distanced ourselves from Bilun Tree Court, no need to worry about the Birlos Family for now. But, there’s a piece of bad news; we are less than a hundred miles from the Royal Capital of the Gumman Kingdom.”

”Royal Capital of the Gumman Kingdom?” Witch Sharon frowned.

”Indeed, and according to Pagnini’s feedback, someone in the Gumman Royal Capital might have detected the spatial disturbance over here.”
