Chapter 2978: Chapter 2979: Pipi City

Angel was contemplating Yagluo’s matters as he swiftly followed Laplace through the Mirror Corridor.

Approximately a quarter of an hour later, Laplace came to a halt.

They were now amidst the dazzling Immortal Mirror Sea, reminiscent of the Milky Way, and not far beneath their feet lay the dome of the City of Hot Gold.

Wolftooth Di-Bone also saw the City of Hot Gold, his eyes lit up in an instant, and he began urging everyone to hurry inside. It was best not to worry about Little Scale, take care of their business before Little Scale arrives, and then everyone can go off on their own for fun. As for what business needed tending, Wolftooth Di-Bone had already forgotten; all he remembered was not to let Little Scale come.

From Wolftooth Di-Bone’s rambling, it was clear that Little Scale often restrains his actions, and as a teacher, he feels embarrassed, thus developing a rebellious mindset.

To put it plainly, it was a case of not accepting old age, plus being an old child, the older he got, the more he refused to acknowledge his age, the more rebellious he became, and the more tsundere he was.

However, being at this point, Laplace certainly wouldn’t heed Wolftooth Di-Bone, adopting a completely indifferent attitude, which made Wolftooth Di-Bone cross his arms, squatting nearby, sulking.

After about five minutes, Laplace suddenly extended his hand, and following the direction of his fingers, the Mirror Corridor rapidly extended.

In no time, it extended several hundred meters.

Just as Angel was wondering what Laplace was doing, ripples appeared at the end of the Mirror Corridor, causing slight spatial distortions, followed by two figures emerging from the ripples, one ahead of the other.

Leading the way was a hunched figure, precisely Glaipnir.

Behind Glaipnir was an infant-sized, winged, youthful Ancient Tooth Fairy floating in the air.

Upon seeing this Ancient Tooth Fairy, Wolftooth Di-Bone let out a humph and turned his head away. From his expression, it was clear that the newcomer was his love-hate disciple — Sharktooth Scale.

Unlike Wolftooth Di-Bone, Sharktooth Scale immediately flew over eagerly upon seeing his teacher, attempting to help the squatting, doodling Wolftooth Di-Bone up. However, Wolftooth Di-Bone fiercely shook off his hand, then proudly stood up, pacing back and forth in the corridor to show that he was hale and hearty, needing no support.

Sharktooth Scale did not argue, simply smiled and, after his teacher showcased how ”robust” he was, naturally stood behind him, both as a sign of respect and a protective stance.

”This guy is Sharktooth Scale. If you need to purchase anything in the future, you can find him.” Glaipnir slowly stepped forward, addressing Angel.

Sharktooth Scale also looked towards Angel appropriately: ”While on the way, the Astrologer already told me about you, sir. Since you are a collaborator with the Astrologer and...”

Sharktooth Scale sneaked a peak at Laplace, ”Ahem, you’re also our Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy’s honored guest. In the future, anything you need or wish to sell, feel free to contact me.”

As Sharktooth Scale spoke, he took out a tooth the size of a knuckle from his pocket and handed it to Angel.

This tooth, shimmering with a silver glow, was the identification for a guest of honor in the Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy.

Without hesitation, Angel thanked him and accepted the tooth. He intended to make contact with the Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy anyway; having VIP status, even if it might not be useful, was still better than nothing.

After a brief exchange, Laplace linked the Mirror Corridor to the dome of the City of Hot Gold below.

Everyone followed the Mirror Corridor, entering the City of Hot Gold.

As Angel passed through the dome, he caught a glimpse of a golden light from the corner of his eye.

And that single glance imprinted this dazzling golden glow into his mind.

Once inside the City of Hot Gold, Angel’s mind was still replaying that brilliant golden glow.

Angel’s dazed expression caught Laplace’s attention: ”What’s wrong?”

Angel pondered for a moment: ”When we came in, I seemed to have seen a golden gleam...”

Angel paused, thinking about how to describe the golden glow. Before he could find the words, Laplace reached out and pointed to the Void, conjuring a mirror image before Angel.

The mirror image featured the splendid Immortal Mirror Sea as the background, with a golden dome at its center.

However, unlike the dome of the City of Hot Gold, this golden dome had several tentacles extending from within, like a glowing spider swiftly moving across the Immortal Mirror Sea.

With each quick move, it left an eye-catching golden glow behind on the Immortal Mirror Sea.

”Yes, that’s it!” Angel could confirm that this was the fleeting golden light he saw over the Immortal Mirror Sea before entering the City of Hot Gold.

”Isn’t that Pipi City?” Sharktooth Scale apparently saw the golden glow in the mirror image too, but his expression carried a hint of disdain.

”Pipi City?” Angel looked at Sharktooth Scale in confusion.

Sharktooth Scale nodded: ”Yes, that’s Pipi City, home to a bunch of little tricksters.”

Laplace withdrew the mirror image and looked at Angel: ”Are you interested in that?”

Angel hesitated for a moment, then nodded.

When he glimpsed that golden glow earlier, he inexplicably experienced a spark of inspiration. It was this sudden inspiration that piqued Angel’s interest in ”Pipi City.”

Laplace glanced at Sharktooth Scale, who seemed to catch on, and said to Angel: ”If you’re interested, I can tell you about it... um, let’s talk as we walk.”

Everyone began to head towards the branch of the Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy within the City of Hot Gold, listening to Sharktooth Scale’s introduction as they walked.

In truth, almost all mirror beings who have been to the Immortal Mirror Sea know about Pipi City and the ”little tricksters” living there.

Both Pipi City and the little tricksters are nicknames, not their real names.

The real name of Pipi City is ”Pipi City,” and the creatures living there aren’t little tricksters but a type of indigenous Mirror Domain life form called ”Pirush.”

Pirush are humanoid creatures. However, if there were a humanoid content ratio, Pirush’s humanoid content wouldn’t exceed 50%. Many humanoids are hard to distinguish from humans with the naked eye alone.

But not the Pirush; the difference from humans is apparent at a glance.

Firstly, their height; they are about half the size of an average human, with those over 1.5 meters being considered giants within their tribe.

Then there’s their skin color, which only comes in two primary colors, green and red. Most Pirush have green skin, while red-skinned ones are the minority color.

As for their facial features, they resemble human distribution but with one notable feature: they have no nasal bridge. Their nose consists of two openings directly on their facial front.

In human aesthetics, Pirush are perceived as extremely unattractive.

And from the perspective of mirror beings, Pirush are deemed unsightly inside as well, because they are generally very vile... This vileness is described by Sharktooth Scale as ”unscrupulous merchants.”

According to Sharktooth Scale, out of ten Pirush merchants, eight would be unscrupulous, and the remaining two, albeit slightly better, are still stingy and calculative.

In summary, Pirush do not have a great reputation in the Daylight Mirror Domain.

However, Pirush is not completely without accomplishments; this race has two noteworthy traits.

First, unity. Pirush is a highly unified race, always living in clusters, cunning towards outsiders but very tolerant within their own.

Second, inventiveness. Pirush is extremely skilled at inventing. Though their power is weak, their wisdom is exceptionally high. In terms of overall intelligence, even the Mirror Sea Scholars cannot compare to Pirush.

Their inventions cover a wide range, from everyday items to weapons for defeating enemies, all valuable.

For this reason, although the Ancient Tooth Fairies dislike the despicable nature of Pirush, they still have to deal with Pirush’s cunning merchants to acquire their advanced inventions.

Currently, they reside in Pipi City, which was also invented by Pirush.

Speaking of Pipi City, the reason it’s called ”Skinflint City” is because it can move. It is the only dome in this Immortal Mirror Sea that can move freely.

Though the Aggregation Energy in Immortal Mirror Sea is abundant, its concentration varies. Other domes, whether in the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom or the City of Hot Gold, can only wait patiently when positioned in areas of low Aggregation Energy, awaiting the next high tide; but Pipi City is different, as it can move, it relocates to areas of high concentration when the density is low here.

Simply occupying high concentration areas isn’t a problem. The main issue is that Pipi City moves too frequently, and their internal absorption of Aggregation Energy is also very fast, as they claim they need it for inventions.

Their excessive consumption of Aggregation Energy and occupation of high concentration areas lengthens the time between valleys and peaks of Aggregation Energy in the Immortal Mirror Sea.

This is also why they are labeled as skinflints.

The main issue is that it affects personal cultivation.

Though the impact isn’t significant, if one were to say Pipi City single-handedly dragged down the Aggregation Energy of Immortal Mirror Sea, everyone knows that’s impossible, so it’s mostly grumbled about.

Compared to the Aggregation Energy absorbed by Pipi City, what irks people more is the despicable nature of Pirush.

In short, both Skinflint City and Little Skinflint are derogatory nicknames based on Pirush’s racial traits.

After hearing Sharktooth. Scale’s introduction, Angel doesn’t have much of an opinion about Pirush, his only thought is... they sound a lot like goblins in novels.

”Are you interested in Pirush’s inventions?” Laplace asked. To her, the only intersection between Pirush and Angel is likely their inventions.

Angel: ”I’m a bit interested.”

Angel is indeed somewhat interested in Pirush’s inventions, they seem akin to a race in the Mirror Domain adept at climbing the technology tree.

”Want to go to Pipi City for a look? Pipi City isn’t as restricted to outsiders as the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom.”

Angel thought it over but shook his head: ”No.”

The reason he’s so focused on that golden glow is because it inspired Angel. However, this inspiration isn’t directly related to Pirush’s inventions.

It’s connected to... the Heart Space.

Rather than visiting Pipi City, Angel wants to pursue his inspiration. But right now isn’t the time, at least he needs to meet Dragontooth. Harp first.

”By the way, you mentioned the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom prohibits outsider entry, why is Dragontooth. Harp allowed to enter?” Angel asked puzzled.

Laplace: ”I’m not sure. However, it seems there’s an Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy division within the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom.”

Beside her, Sharktooth. Scale nodded: ”Yes, the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom has an Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy division. However, usually we Mirror Sea Scholars can’t wander into other territories of the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom. This time Harp Granny could visit the library of the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom because Note Brother completed a commission from them, which granted the invitation.”

The specifics of the task, Sharktooth. Scale didn’t divulge.

Angel didn’t pursue further since it involves secrets of the Ancient Tooth Fairies.

...

City of Hot Gold, division of Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy.

It’s similar to before, bustling and crowded. However, last time no one paid attention to Angel and Laplace, but this time the division chief led them to a secluded VIP room.

They were also assigned a special attendant.

Of course, this treatment was entirely due to Sharktooth. Scale and Wolftooth. Di-Bone.

”The chief has already contacted the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom, Harp Granny should arrive shortly.” Sharktooth. Scale: ”Please wait here for a moment.”

After pausing, Sharktooth. Scale took a commodity list from a Little Tooth Fairy nearby and handed it to Angel: ”Sir, if there’s anything you want, feel free to look at this list. You can choose anything you like. As the first human VIP of Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy, I can decide to gift you anything from this list.”

Sharktooth. Scale expressed generosity, handing over a dictionary-thick commodity list to Angel, indicating he could choose freely.

Regarding its claim of ”gifting a VIP something,” Angel was skeptical, Sharktooth. Scale was clearly doing this for Laplace and Glaipnir’s sake.

It wasn’t Angel Sharktooth. Scale intended to flatter, but Laplace.

Angel smiled as he took the commodity list, but he didn’t flip through it, instead setting it aside.

Often times, free items are costlier in hidden terms than non-free ones.

This time is no different, and he doesn’t want to owe Laplace a favor.

Sharktooth. Scale saw Angel didn’t look at the commodity list, its expression showed slight disappointment, though it quickly veiled it: ”If Sir isn’t satisfied with these commodities, the offer is still valid next time when Sir visits the main division.”

Angel chuckled lightly: ”Can I choose from the main division’s commodities as well? Hmm... including the Tooth Bone Staff?”

The Tooth Bone Staff was precisely the treasure Glaipnir had borrowed earlier, derived from an Elder of Battle from the Ancient Tooth Fairy Elders Council, transformed after death.

Sharktooth. Scale’s smile froze instantly, stammering for a while, unsure how to respond.

Angel: ”I was joking; I certainly won’t ask for the Tooth Bone Staff. However, the main division of the Tooth Fairy interests me, I might consider visiting if I have the chance.”

Sharktooth. Scale quickly said: ”When Sir visits the Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy, I’ll personally attend to you.”

Angel did not refuse, merely smiled: ”I’ll count on you then.”

Sharktooth. Scale: ”Not trouble at all.”

After speaking, Sharktooth. Scale sighed with relief, it genuinely thought Angel would request the Tooth Bone Staff. As Ancient Tooth Fairies, they take their commitments seriously. If they revoke their word, it’d be disgraceful.

Fortunately, Angel didn’t really want it, otherwise, Sharktooth. Scale wouldn’t know what to do.

After this, Laplace turned to Angel: ”Regarding the Vansel family situation, what are your plans?”
