Chapter 2449: Chapter 2450: Blood Rain

The enormous Cloud Whale, accompanied by the fierce sound of whistling wind, flew straight towards position 03.

From the slightly reddish pupils of the Cloud Whale, everyone understood that this Cloud Whale had also succumbed to the allure of the Mysterious Fruit.

No one tried to stop the Cloud Whale, as the Wizards present were also speculating that the birth of the Mysterious Object might occur at the moment the Mysterious Fruit ripens. And how would the fruit mature? The sea of blood below and the scattered sea beast flesh explained everything.

The arrival of the Cloud Whale would inevitably become the nourishment for the Mysterious Fruit.

What effect would a Mysterious Object born amidst countless sea beasts’ blood and flesh have?

The unobstructed Cloud Whale roared all the way forward.

During this process, Angel noticed that due to the sea of blood obscured by waves, the route the Cloud Whale had to take to get to 03’s side would inevitably pass through their side. Given the Cloud Whale’s huge body, it was anticipated to collide with them.

Angel glanced at the Observer, hesitating whether to suggest to the Observer that they temporarily move position.

Ultimately, he didn’t speak up, after all, he had no right to instruct the Observer on what to do.

The presence of the Cloud Whale was so strong that it was impossible for the Observer not to notice it. If they needed to move, the Observer naturally would, whether he suggested it or not was unimportant.

Angel silently waited, wanting to see how the Observer would react, but from beginning to end, the Observer didn’t move, not even glancing in the direction of the Cloud Whale.

They didn’t relocate, yet the Cloud Whale didn’t collide with them.

Because as the Cloud Whale was about to approach their position, it, which had originally been moving in a straight line, suddenly took a curve, bypassing the spot where they stood.

Even though Angel didn’t see the Observer take any action, it was evident that the Cloud Whale changing its route voluntarily was unlikely to be a normal occurrence.

Angel speculated, perhaps it was due to... the Twisted Domain?

Even though Angel’s Pattern Domain could somewhat offset the influence of the Twisted Domain, the Twisted Domain was nonetheless a true Law concretization that naturally carried a certain deterrent. Perhaps the Cloud Whale sensed this point, hence it bypassed their location.

Not being crashed into by the Cloud Whale was naturally a good thing. However, this also brought about another issue.

Their position seemed to have been exposed.

...

Though the Cloud Whale bypassed the Observer and Angel, it did not bypass the few frontline recorders on the other side.

That enormous body rushed directly toward them with a whistling charge.

”Oh? Are we about to be hit? Chief Editor, why do I feel so thrilled?” Rivetta, wearing a midriff-baring magic robe, not only felt no fear but even looked flushed with excitement.

Diescher: ”...Shut up.”

The moment the words fell, the Cloud Whale passed right through them.

It took a full ten seconds for the Cloud Whale’s body to pierce through where they stood. This showed how enormous the Cloud Whale’s body was.

However, the collision by the Cloud Whale seemed to have no effect on them.

They remained unchanged from the time the Cloud Whale arrived until it left. Not only were there no signs of injury, but even their clothing wasn’t ruffled.

”The Adventures Inside the Cloud Whale, Chief Editor, how about I publish this in the next issue? Put it in the prologue as a little extra for the readers, how about that?” Rivetta’s voice called out.

Diescher: ”Do you think it’s innovative?”

Rivetta was silent for a moment: ”Hmm...perhaps not.”

In the Wizards’ Realm, forget about adventures inside a Cloud Whale, some have even built towns inside a Cloud Whale. Rivetta has heard that a vassal Wizard Family of the Song of the Deep Sea always lives in a town inside the Cloud Whale, which is also a famous moving Wizard Market of the Endless Sea.

It’s not only Cloud Whales; many other tamed gigantic creatures also have similar situations. For example, the Frostmoon Alliance tamed a moose Illusory Spirit in the Abyss—Cassiomere, whose antlers connect to a Door to the Other-dimensional Space, where a massive city is located, known as Fantasy City.

Such examples are numerous, and the locations vary, some Wizards even prefer living in slug chambers.

Overall, Rivetta’s so-called Adventures Inside the Cloud Whale might be novel to ordinary people, but to Wizards, it lacks originality.

Disheartened by Diescher’s remark, Rivetta lowered her head somewhat dejectedly, but soon she found a new topic.

”By the way, I think I noticed the Cloud Whale’s route seemed to have changed just now, right? Although it would have barely grazed us before, later it directly collided head-on with us, which is a bit strange.”

Everyone had witnessed this scene, but they didn’t speak, even Diescher remained silent.

Until Rivetta asked again, the President Zhuguang spoke up: ”It’s not important, no need to pay attention to it.”

Rivetta was puzzled: ”Really? But...”

Before Rivetta could continue, Diescher interjected: ”... I’ve told you many times, you, shut up.”

Faced with Diescher’s somewhat darkened face, Rivetta hesitated for a moment, then finally nodded and closed her mouth.

President Zhuguang exchanged a glance with Adelaide and Diescher. Though none of them spoke, they all understood each other’s intentions.

—The hidden one was right in the area the Cloud Whale bypassed.

Confirming the existence and position of the other party was not good news for them. Because the fact that the other party exposed their position without hesitation also indicated they had no qualms. Of course, other interpretations could be made, but at this level, they knew how to make interpretations. Other possibilities weren’t non-existent, but considering all the details, they seemed very unlikely.

Not only did President Zhuguang and the others determine Angel’s position, but actually, those at the back, who noticed the Cloud Whale taking a detour, all had their own speculations.

Among them, Marcus Stone, who was second closest to Angel and the others, also saw this scene. After hesitating for a moment, he silently followed the Cloud Whale’s lead and made a detour.

He couldn’t be certain what was in that space, but even the Cloud Whale, which had fallen into a frenzy, consciously avoided that area, so to be safe, he opted to take a detour as well.

Marcus Stone’s detour further solidified the suspicions of those behind regarding that peculiar space.

For a moment, they speculated over countless possibilities.

But soon these varied speculations ceased because another shocking event occurred.

Instigated still by the same Cloud Whale, but this time the Cloud Whale had become a mere background actor.

After the Cloud Whale bypassed Angel’s position, it continued towards position 03. Just as it neared the vicinity of the blood waves, several pink tentacles suddenly emerged from directly ahead.

At first, the tentacles were small and unnoticed, but they expanded like inflating balloons in the wind.

They instantaneously grew into several thousand-meter-long tentacles that directly ensnared the Cloud Whale.

The enormous strength of the Cloud Whale was rendered motionless under the tentacle’s binding.

Despite holding the Cloud Whale, the tentacles didn’t harm it but instead performed a ”bow” action, launching it vigorously like a cannonball, aiming toward position 03.

”Who told you to stick to my face. Here’s a lift, swish swoosh~” A soft voice sounded out of thin air.

Though the sound was not loud, everyone focusing on the dynamic heard it.

Everyone realized that, very close to the Mysterious Fruit, there was a powerful presence hidden...

As this news struck the hearts of everyone, the Cloud Whale, transformed into a ”cannonball,” had already rushed toward Number 03.

The power of the Cloud Whale cannonball was not to be underestimated. None of the wizards present were absolutely confident they could remain unharmed under such terrifying force, superb speed, and precise targeting.

But when this impact, comparable to a meteor’s fall, met Number 03, it caused no shockwave, not even the air changed at all.

All the impact force strangely turned to nothing.

The so-called force action, energy conservation, all directly lost their effect.

The Mysterious Fruit nonchalantly dissolved the impact and directly turned the incoming Cloud Whale into a mass of flesh and blood.

The kilometer-long Cloud Whale exploded in an instant, turning into a bloody mist. The wild sea breeze carried the blood mist to the sky, and soon, the whole sea area began to rain blood.

The sea, originally crimson, became even more profound and deep.

Everyone was speechless with shock at the scene. The power of the Mysterious Object was terrifying. Even though the true effect of the Mysterious Fruit had not yet been revealed, its mere preparation to maturity could dissolve such horrendous energy impacts, offering a glimpse of its power.

While everyone was shocked by the spectacle, Chairman Zhuguang and Adelaide exchanged a look, their eyes silently focused on a certain place.

They previously thought there was only one powerful presence nearby, but they now realized... they were wrong.

Not only was there one that had the Cloud Whale voluntarily reroute, but there was also another which turned the Cloud Whale into a cannonball with ease.

”Chairman, do you have any clues about the owner of that pink tentacle?” Adelaide asked Zhuguang.

Zhuguang’s expression was somewhat solemn: ”I’ve never seen them, but the energy wave generated when it appeared reached near-legend levels.”

”You mean... a half-step legend?”

Chairman Zhuguang shook his head: ”I don’t know, it may have already taken that step.”

Adelaide’s expression hardened: How is that possible?

Even Diescher beside them was startled by this answer: ”Is there such a presence in the Southern Domain?”

Chairman Zhuguang: ”Who told you they must be from the Southern Domain? Can you confirm that the woman with the Number 03 brand on her face is from the Southern Domain?”

Diescher shook his head with a troubled expression.

Since they’re not from the Southern Domain, they might come from the Outer Domain. If they came from the Outer Domain without triggering the World Will’s backlash, they must either be human or have countless ties with humans.

It’s very likely they came from another Wizards’ Realm.

And in other Wizards’ Realms, there are wizards above Legend!

Thinking of this, Diescher, holding a feather pen, couldn’t help but tremble a little, for the first time scribbling a turning line in his recorded text.

Seeing the uneasy expressions on everyone’s faces, Chairman Zhuguang sighed: ”Just like before, don’t mind it, our goal is merely to record, not to do anything unnecessary.”

Everyone nodded: ”Understood.”

These words aside, their mindsets subtly shifted, considering the possible presence of a wizard above Legend nearby; how could they remain calm?

Even the usually lively Rivetta remained silent, quietly recording the scene.

While everyone silently recorded, Chairman Zhuguang unobtrusively glanced at the previous location where the Cloud Whale had rerouted... In fact, more than the master of the pink tentacle, he was more concerned about this one.

He had a persistent feeling that this one’s strength might be even greater than the owner of the pink tentacle.

And indeed, that was the truth.

Chairman Zhuguang’s instincts weren’t wrong. In terms of sheer power, the Observer could crush Polo Ye. After all, the Observer was above Legend, whereas Polo Ye, although possessing legendary battle power, had not reached that level.

However, inside Polo Ye was Gluz Deward’s Divine Thought. Considering this, the Observer was at a disadvantage.

...

”Polo Ye, your actions are over-the-top.”

The Observer’s voice echoed in Polo Ye’s ears.

But Polo Ye extended a tentacle, picked at its hole-like auditory organs, lazily saying: ”Shuro? Really? I didn’t kill that Cloud Whale, just sent it on its way. Besides, it was the one that came to my face, provoking me first.”

The Observer, out of duty, had to admit that Polo Ye wasn’t wrong. But due to his responsibilities, he still needed to remind him.

Polo Ye: ”Speaking of which, don’t you think this is too slow? Anyway, those Sea Beasts can’t ultimately resist, so why not we join forces to grab those still resisting Sea Beasts from the Outer Sea and speed up its absorption process? Shuro?”

Polo Ye’s suggestion was constructive, as Sea Beasts indeed found it difficult to resist the Mysterious Fruit’s allure.

If it were someone else, they might have truly agreed.

But the Observer couldn’t comply.

”You don’t have the authority to decide the life and death of other Sea Beasts. Who can be sure they can’t escape this ordeal and be reborn?”

The Observer paused, then continued: ”If someone indeed breaks free, they might complete their transformation. Isn’t that what your City Lord loves the most, those magical creatures?”

Polo Ye: ”Shuro Shuro~ The first part of what you said is nonsense, but as for the last part... I agree. At most, it’s just an hour or two. I’ll wait.”

Having persuaded Polo Ye, the Observer withdrew his message.

He glanced at the Mysterious Fruit in the distance, which was about to glow red, and sighed softly.

The fruit was nearing maturity, but within the Mind Space, no premonition manifested.

This is either because the Mysterious Object is not dangerous or... its danger level has exceeded his ability to predict.

The Observer leaned toward the latter; after all, is there any non-dangerous Anomalous Object?

If it truly is a terrifying Anomalous Object, what would its effect be? Could these people ward it off?

While sighing, the Observer caught sight of Angel with his peripheral vision.

He noticed Angel seemed to be staring blankly in a certain direction.

The Observer glanced in the direction of Angel’s daze but saw nothing.

”What are you looking at?” the Observer asked curiously.

Angel was startled for a moment before coming back to his senses: ”Nothing, just thinking about something.”
