Chapter 2418: Chapter 2419: Bloodline Limit

Sure, here is the translation:

”...I have read the task reports you sent recently. You’ve done quite well; remain cautious and remember not to be too hasty.”

”The Quest World praises your sacrifices greatly. Among all those who have descended from the four regions, you are the only ones unnoticed. Ha, the other bases were too complacent. You performed well, being careful allowed you to complete the tasks smoothly. However, even though the Southern Domain is the end region, it is still watched by the Observer, and that one... never mind, my situation doesn’t allow me to speak much about him. Always remember, keep a low profile.”

”...Another member of the Orderly Guild has been warned, it seems they have noticed your actions. Maybe, he has been aware of you for a while.”

”Don’t feel burdened. I’ve been with the Orderly Guild for many years; I understand their rules. The Orderly Guild won’t interfere excessively. Furthermore, the Observer has his tasks, your actions haven’t exceeded his tolerance yet. As long as you maintain the current pace, without radical moves, he should turn a blind eye to you. Yet, ensure that the mainstream forces in the Southern Domain don’t discover you, especially the Extreme Sect.”

Several letters were opened by Angel.

Angel also noticed that the unnamed member of the Lacey Association, who maintained long-term communication with number 01, ought to have another identity as a member of the Orderly Guild.

As for the ”Observer” repeatedly mentioned in the letters, Angel is not unfamiliar; he saw it in Culori’s journal, indicating the Orderly Guild assigns them to various worlds to inspect things out of order in the Wizard World.

Due to the numerous worlds and planes influenced by wizards, the Observer might not be above a Legend; in some remote worlds, even an Official Wizard can be an Observer. But the Observer in a high-energy world must be above a Legend. The wizards realm, including the Southern Domain, is a high-energy world.

Because the person is from the Orderly Guild, he knows about the Observer’s information, but his circumstances prevent him from speaking much, so he only subtly hints to number 01 to avoid radical actions and proceed gradually.

Angel opened a few more letters from the ”Turbulent Caravan,” which mostly contained similar content: task progress feedback back and forth, along with the current situation report from 01. Occasionally, tasks were assigned, but these were areas that Angel was unfamiliar with and did not understand well.

The thing Angel most wanted to understand was the Lacey Association itself and the soul forces in the Quest World, which were seldom mentioned in the letters.

Since there were too many letters from the Turbulent Caravan, Angel activated the Reading Art for assistance. Through the quick reading of the Reading Art, he extracted the core points from each letter, which made it much easier.

Within a few minutes, he finished reading all remaining letters.

After reading the letters sent by the Turbulent Caravan, Angel’s brow slightly furrowed; he realized something was amiss with number 01.

In the beginning, due to unfamiliarity with number 01 and Lacey Association over there, Angel did not notice any oddities in the letters. However, as he read further, he found something strange.

The responses from Lacey Association were still normal, praising number 01’s caution, and continuing to tell him not to rush, to take it slow, maintain a low profile, to avoid ruining the group’s experiment, and not to get noticed by the Observer.

Number 01’s replies seemed normal too, reassuring them not to worry, that he wouldn’t act recklessly. From the letters, Angel even saw that number 01 had devised a mid-to-long-term plan—

”I received your last letter; the twenty-year plan you devised is feasible. They also admire it and decided to allocate one-tenth of resources from the Northern Land laboratory to your lab, including some rare magical creature organs in the Origin World.”

This ”twenty-year plan” was what made Angel realize the inconsistency.

Although the Turbulent Caravan didn’t specify when the letters were sent, from the content and the details on parchment, it could be deduced that the letter likely arrived recently.

Recent events made it odd because just some time ago, number 03 personally admitted that their experiment was reaching its end, planning to leave the Southern Domain soon.

Number 01 appeared calm and collected in the letters, but in reality, drastically accelerated the supposed ”twenty-year plan” down to just a few days.

This behavior of appearing compliant while acting contrary to directions suggested number 01 had hidden motives.

Besides discovering number 01 might be a traitor within Lacey Association, Angel also found information in the letters sent by the Turbulent Caravan:

”Didilo reminded me to tell you not to forget to maintain number 00’s core. Apart from the interval maintenance of the core, you should also ensure that number 00 remains active; keeping it in a hot load state is beneficial for number 00 itself.”

Since entering the lab, Angel always remained on high alert because of the potentially existing ”number 00,” and it proved that number 00 indeed existed.

From the content of the letters, it seems number 00 has been within the laboratory all along. What differed slightly from the initial speculation is that number 00 appears not to be a living person but some kind of Mechanical Creation?

What puzzled Angel slightly was, where could number 00 be? He didn’t find any signs of number 00 through the main control node.

Could it be that number 01 took number 00 outside for the Nest?

Angel shook his head, choosing not to delve into it for the moment, placing the ”Turbulent” letters aside, and picked up the ones from the ”Flash Caravan.”

The letters from the Flash Caravan basically belonged to intelligence types, involving some information that number 01 inquired from Flash.

Angel noticed that number 01 was somewhat different from number 03, as number 01’s communication with the ”Flash” Caravan actually started recently, early this year to be exact, as the Flash Caravan has a habit of marking letter sending dates on the envelope, allowing for clear viewing of the date on each letter.

Why has number 01 been intensively consulting the Flash Caravan for intelligence this year?

With questions in mind, Angel began to browse.

Given there weren’t many letters from Flash, Angel quickly finished reading them.

There was quite a bit of intelligence in these letters, covering a wide range, but all revolved around a central theme: Peach Heart Theater.

No. 01 inquired in detail about the known information of the Peach Heart Theater from the Glint Trade Caravan, including the circumstances under which the Peach Heart Theater previously descended, the entire process of entering the Peach Heart Theater, the currently known registered actors of the Peach Heart Theater... and so on.

From such a concentrated inquiry by No. 01, Angel could tell he seemed to be very interested in the Peach Heart Theater.

This interest, shown through his wording, seemed to have exceeded a certain limit, as if No. 01 also wanted to participate.

Rumor has it that the Peach Heart Theater is a manifestation of the will of a top-tier extraordinary life. If No. 01 wanted to participate as an audience member, that would be one thing, but he seemed to want to become an actor?

The fate of actors in the Peach Heart Theater generally ends with death.

Does No. 01 have a death wish, or does he think he can deliver a perfect performance on the stage of the Peach Heart Theater?

Angel didn’t understand No. 01’s thoughts, but the information about the Peach Heart Theater was quite valuable, and it might come in handy in the future.

Apart from the information on the Peach Heart Theater itself, No. 01 consulted more about... the Nightmare Realm.

The involvement of the Nightmare Realm was because the ticket booth of the Peach Heart Theater, according to Dororo’s prophecy on Stargazing Day, would appear in the Eternal Night Country. Currently, the Eternal Night Country already has numerous strange domes, which are related to the Nightmare Realm.

Angel was also very interested in what level of information the Glint Trade Caravan had about the Nightmare Realm.

But upon reading further, Angel found that the Glint Trade Caravan didn’t know much... or rather, they seemed to be apprehensive about something and dared not speak directly about the Nightmare Realm.

They repeatedly cautioned No. 01 not to get involved with matters of the Nightmare Realm, as unspeakable horrors existed there.

Eventually, the Glint Trade Caravan subtly mentioned: ”The Nightmare Realm itself is a miracle, yet even a miracle will wither there.”

Angel didn’t know if the ”miracle” mentioned by the Glint Trade Caravan was the same as what he imagined, but he knew one thing: the Nightmare Realm was feared by all wizards in the Southern Domain, and the same was true in the Origin World.

It was a secret world.

A world that cannot be easily known.

As for the domes of the Eternal Night Country, the Glint Trade Caravan mentioned a point: The Wizard World is a high-energy world, balanced by the world will, so there is no need to worry too much about Nightmare Realm invasion, plus there are Observers watching. Therefore, even if the ticket booth appears in the Eternal Night Country, as long as one doesn’t deliberately enter the domes, the safety issue should be manageable.

However, the Glint Trade Caravan did not mention another situation: What if the ticket booth appears inside a dome, then what should be done?

Of course, this was not Angel’s concern.

Having read all the correspondence between the Glint Trade Caravan and No. 01, Angel solemnly made a copy. There was a lot of information in there that was very useful, especially regarding the Peach Heart Theater. Lord Rhein had previously thought about setting up a temporary market along the midline between the Eternal Night Country and the Pamiji Plateau when the Peach Heart Theater docked. Although it’s uncertain whether Lord Rhein still has this idea, collecting more information about the Peach Heart Theater is undoubtedly beneficial to the Barbarian Cave.

After reading the Glint Trade Caravan’s letters, Angel turned his attention to the last few unsigned letters.

...

Ten minutes later, Angel placed the last letter on the table.

He sat in silence, his gaze somewhat complex.

The content of these letters wasn’t much, all being No. 01 consulting a mysterious unknown counterpart about secret information related to the ”City Lord.”

After reading these letters, Angel somewhat understood why No. 01 was going against the Lacey Association headquarters, and why he had suddenly become radical recently.

The storyline was actually not complicated, everything needed to start from a certain bloodline—

No. 01 is a bloodline wizard, and one of the more extreme traditionalists, a wizard pursuing the limits of bloodline. He hoped that each of his main bloodlines could be the best at that time.

To achieve this goal, during his apprentice period, No. 01 never abused any bloodline, solely seeking the most suitable one for himself.

Eventually, he found it, the bloodline of the Uya Giant. When he merged with the Uya Giant bloodline, he immediately felt his own strength and once again cemented his confidence in pursuing the limits of bloodline.

After becoming an official wizard, he reignited his pursuit of new bloodlines. To uphold the bloodline limits, he discarded many miscellaneous bloodlines.

Through the years, over a hundred had passed, and No. 01 had never encountered a suitable one.

Until, while exploring a secret relic, he discovered an extraordinary creature slumbering in a crystal coffin.

As a bloodline wizard, No. 01 clearly felt a lethal attraction coming from this slumbering extraordinary creature. He felt his bloodline boiling, clamoring, yearning.

At this moment, he realized that the bloodline he had sought for a century had finally been found.
