Chapter 2274: Chapter 2275: Traces Left in the Void

As the Crownless King of the Tidal World, Angel naturally trusts Nami Midori’s judgment.

”But if it’s not an Elemental Creature, then who could it be?”

Could it be that an extraterrestrial being has really come to the Tidal World? For thousands of years, no outsider has visited the Tidal World, and yet as soon as he arrives, an extraterrestrial visitor shows up? Is it really such a coincidence, or is it that the visitor followed him here?

As suspicion filled Angel’s heart, Nami Midori spoke up: ”Rather than guessing the identity of the other party, it’s better to continue searching for clues to see where it is hiding.”

”If the other party truly exists and has spied on you, it will surely leave clues.”

Nami Midori doesn’t know if there is a perfect concealment in the world. However, since Angel has detected the spying, unless it was done intentionally, it suggests that its concealment is not perfect, possibly even flawed.

Finding clues might just help breakthrough the predicament. As for speculating on the identity of the other party? Catch them, and you’ll know.

Nami Midori pondered for a moment, then once again delved into the memories of the Floating Flower.

This time, Nami Midori also pulled Angel into the past scenes together.

Angel kept watching the ”Angel” in the memory abruptly turn his head as if possessed, feeling a bit embarrassed even himself, but Nami Midori showed no signs of awkwardness, replaying it repeatedly. It seemed that Nami Midori’s desire to catch the observer was even greater than Angel’s.

This actually makes sense; if the other party truly exists and is spying on Angel in the Lost Forest, it is equivalent to intruding into Nami Midori’s territory. Having lived in the Lost Forest for so many years, Nami Midori’s territorial awareness is much stronger than other Elemental Creatures. Being suddenly intruded upon by a hidden entity would naturally be unwilling.

After watching countless times, Nami Midori slowly spoke: ”The perception of the Floating Flower is my perception. Within the range of the Lost Forest, it’s extremely rare for something to escape my perception. As long as there is a slip-up, even if it’s just a breath, I can detect it.”

”But the current situation is very strange. I’ve searched for anomalies from all angles but found none.”

Nami Midori fixed her gaze on Angel and asked again: ”Are you sure you didn’t perceive it incorrectly?”

Evidently, Nami Midori still harbored some doubt, questioning the truth of the matter.

Angel continued to appear candid: ”I am certain; there is definitely someone spying in secret.”

Nami Midori gave Angel a deep look: ”If your perception is true, then perhaps there is only one possibility.”

”What possibility?”

”The observer is not here.”

Seeing Angel’s doubtful expression, Nami Midori said: ”I’ve reviewed it repeatedly, there is no trace of the other party’s breath here, and the Floating Flower also perceived nothing unusual, so in my conclusion, the other party is certainly not here.”

There is actually another possibility, which is that the observer is capable of hiding from the perception of the Floating Flower. If this is indeed the case, then the observer’s strength would be above the Legendary Level. If it is at the Legendary Level, there’s no need to discuss this anymore.

Angel: ”If the other party is not here, could it be some kind of long-distance detection ability?”

Nami Midori still shook her head: ”Even if it’s long-distance detection, there would be a source of fluctuation. But I haven’t perceived any anomaly at all, so this can be ruled out too.”

”If it’s not long-distance detection, then what is it?” Angel muttered softly.

Nami Midori: ”Since I can’t find the source, the other party is very possibly not in this realm.”

Angel’s brow furrowed slightly.

Not in this realm, meaning it’s cross-realm spying.

The only person Angel could think of was Shava from the Nightmare Realm, but Angel was relatively familiar with Shava’s behavior patterns, and Shava shouldn’t engage in this kind of peeping behavior. Even if she did spy, Angel would certainly be unable to detect it.

Moreover, the observer’s presence didn’t feel like Shava.

But if it’s not Shava, who could perform cross-realm spying?

Additionally, to achieve cross-realm spying, at least Legendary Level prowess is needed, right?

Nami Midori seemed to catch Angel’s thought, saying: ”Cross-realm spying doesn’t necessarily involve two worlds’ affairs. It could also be a matter within one world, and if that’s the case, strength doesn’t necessarily need to reach Legendary; even some special means could suffice.”

”One world, how can...” Angel was about to say, ”How can one world involve cross-realm spying,” but before he could finish, a sudden idea struck him.

”You mean the observer is spying from the Void?”

If spying from the Void, then it’s indeed not a matter of two worlds.

”Yes.” Nami Midori nodded affirmatively this time.

Angel: ”But even in the Void, cross-realm spying should be difficult to achieve.”

”If the other party is in the Void corresponding to the Tidal World... or, to be more specific, if the observer is situated in the Void corresponding to your position, then it may not even require a very strong ability; heightened senses alone might allow them to perceive you in the Tidal World.”

Nami Midori’s words are not unfounded. If Angel wants to return to the real world from the Void, the first thing he would do is sense the coordinates between the real world and the Void, corresponding to the position where you entered the Void in the real world.

Suppose that with heightened perception, it is possible to sense the real world behind the coordinates through the current coordinates.

However, Angel is currently unable to do so, only barely sensing the coordinate position. Yet, if Angel advances to a True Knowledge Wizard or specifically trains spatial perception abilities, achieving this would not be difficult.

Angel pondered for a moment: ”This is indeed possible, but achieving this scenario is not easy. Most importantly, the observer must know my real-world location.”

If spying from another place, Angel might say there is a traitor among Cubic, Dangross... feeding the observer Angel’s exact coordinates in secret.

But now, being in the Lost Forest, those who know Angel is in the Lost Forest and are aware of Angel’s coordinate range are only Nami Midori and Parry Mountains.

Nami Midori has already been ruled out of suspicion, as for Parry Mountains, even if it could go to the Void, it couldn’t lock Angel’s coordinates. It’s known that this spying has occurred more than once; the first time they were spied upon in the Gentle Wave Sea, Parry Mountains was in the Green Forest Domain, making remote spying impossible then.

”How to obtain your current coordinates is surely a problem.” Nami Midori: ”However, even the idea of the other party spying from the Void is just a guess of mine. Whether or not this hypothesis is correct can actually be verified by checking the Void; there may be clues left there.”

If traces are really found, it can be concluded that the other party must have some way to find Angel’s coordinates. As for how it’s done, that’s a thought for later.

”Okay, let’s go to the Void.” Angel nodded, realizing that mere speculation without evidence leads to confusion, better to see for themselves.

After Angel finished, he waited for Nami Midori to open the passage through the Void.

However, Nami Midori made no move, silently gazing at Angel.

Time passed second by second until the wind had blown the drifting petals back and forth twice before Nami Midori broke the silence: ”I can’t open the void passage.”

With Nami Midori’s strength, perhaps she could, with all her might, forcibly tear the void by relying on the vast natural energy and form a twisted void seam. But this seam wouldn’t be too large, and it would be extremely dangerous, so much so that not even Nami Midori could enter it.

As for constructing a stable void passage, Nami Midori couldn’t do it. Feng didn’t teach it, and even if he had, without magic power as a foundation, it still couldn’t be constructed.

Nami Midori wanted to go to the void but could only do so through the passage in that painting. However, the void represented by that painting wasn’t the void corresponding to the current position, so it was still to no avail.

Angel coughed twice: ”In that case, let me take over.”

After Angel advanced to an Official Wizard, the first thing he learned was how to enter the void, as it was crucial for escape endeavors.

Since there was no need to rush and there was no current danger, Angel did not need to consume precious demonic materials to open the Plane Corridor, he just needed to slowly construct a model to open a door to the void corresponding to the current coordinates.

This process took about two minutes.

An ancient light gate appeared in front of Angel just like that.

Angel and Nami Midori walked through the light gate one after the other, behind the door lay the vast dark void.

”This is the void corresponding to the Cloud Sea of Flowers,” Angel said.

Entering the void, Angel carried with him a sense of vigilance, afraid that Nami Midori’s prediction would come true, and there would indeed be some observer hiding here. But upon arriving in the void and sensing the surroundings, Angel did not notice any hidden creatures within his perception range.

There was no spatial tempest typical of a treasure land here; everything seemed similar to any other part of the void.

Silent, dim, void... resembling a scene of chaos.

Angel turned to look at Nami Midori, intending to ask if its hypothesis was wrong. However, he found Nami Midori’s golden snake eyes at that moment covered by a faint green glow. This green glow transformed into mottled light spots, gradually blending with the surrounding darkness...

Angel knew that Nami Midori was sensing the surroundings, so he waited silently without disturbing it.

After a long while, Nami Midori finally opened her eyes.

From Nami Midori’s gaze, Angel did not see any emotional fluctuations. When he thought that Nami Midori had found nothing as well, Nami Midori suddenly said: ”There are traces of abnormal fluctuations remaining.”

There was indeed an anomaly?!

Angel, somewhat surprised, followed Nami Midori to a particular location, carefully sensing the residual traces in this current location as Nami Midori guided him.

However, Angel did not possess the strong and sensitive sense like Nami Midori; he couldn’t detect any trace of residual abnormal fluctuations.

Yet, his brow throbbed subtly, and his intuition told him that there might be some issues with the space fluctuations here.

Though intuition couldn’t serve as proof, it at least helped Angel understand that Nami Midori’s words were likely accurate. There might indeed be a problem here.

”Can you perceive the specific situation?” Angel asked.

Nami Midori shook her head: ”Even though there are traces left, they are nearly disappearing, making it impossible to determine what the situation was at the time, let alone assess the observer’s condition.”

——Since there indeed were unusual traces in the void, Nami Midori now believed in the existence of an observer.

Upon hearing this, Angel’s expression showed slight regret: ”By now, they are surely no longer here... In the endless void, concealing a creature is too easy.”

Meaning that to try finding the observer now would be very challenging.

Nami Midori pondered for a moment: ”It’s not without a way.”

Angel turned sharply to look at Nami Midori.

Nami Midori: ”I do not know the observer’s purpose, but since they have observed you repeatedly, they likely have a way to pinpoint your location in Tidal World. Surely, their target must be you. Do you think they would give up now? Having observed you three times already, might there be a fourth time?”

Though Nami Midori said nothing more, Angel already somewhat understood its meaning.

Nami Midori: ”I will hide a Yufu flower here in the void, and what you need to do is stay near the Vine House for the short term, waiting until a fourth observation.”

The first three observations had many variables, proving uncontrollable.

However, if a fourth observation occurs in the future, knowing the observer hides in the void, and with Angel already on guard, the variables could be reduced, thereby narrowing the range of the observer or possibly finding and locking onto the observer.

As long as Angel remains near the Vine House, he can contain the observer’s location to this piece of void.

Nami Midori could also secretly log the observer’s situation by leaving a Yufu flower in the void.

Dominating the largest variable, ”the observer’s location in the void,” discovering the observer is only a matter of time.

”All prerequisites depend on whether the observer will attempt a fourth observation on you.” Nami Midori looked at him: ”Are you planning to give it a try?”

Angel pondered for a moment and finally nodded: ”It’s worth a try.”

He initially planned to stay at the Vine House for some time to contemplate ways of overcoming the spatial tempest to enter the treasure land.

Since the observer matter didn’t clash with this plan, they could proceed simultaneously.

Even if the observer does not observe Angel for the fourth time, not much time would be wasted.

Moreover, Angel believed, since the observer had repeatedly watched him, they wouldn’t suddenly stop. Unless they discover the hidden Yufu flower.

”As long as I deliberately conceal it, the Yufu flower is not easily discovered.” Nami Midori said, gently shaking her emerald snake tail, a Yufu flower floated out.

After Nami Midori did something unknown, the Yufu flower began to dim shortly after appearing, as if darkness eroded it thoroughly, eventually merging with the void’s dimness and disappearing entirely.

Once the Yufu flower vanished, Angel immediately sensed it.

What Nami Midori said was true; Angel really could no longer sense the Yufu flower’s existence, even Earl Mi transformed into a wood element couldn’t discover the Yufu flower.

”To discover the Yufu flower would require at least a Legendary Level. Against a Legendary Level creature, resistance is futile.” Nami Midori: ”However, I still believe the observer’s strength is below Legendary Level, because a creature of Legendary Level has no need to observe you repeatedly.”
