Chapter 1290: Section 1291 No Trespassing

Hearing Frode’s question, Angel suddenly froze.

Send them to the Wilderness of Dreams? Is that… really possible?

“Frode is right, you can indeed try to bring them to the Wilderness of Dreams. Since the residents of the Wilderness of Dreams are assemblies of Consciousness Sparks, not limited by flesh and soul, then bringing them here might just give them a slim chance,” Sanders said as he slowly approached from one end of the street.

With Sanders also favoring Frode’s suggestion, Angel began to seriously contemplate its feasibility.

Since their survival in reality was nearly impossible, perhaps existing in the Wilderness of Dreams could also count as a form of life’s continuation?

Quietly pondering, Angel thought if they could indeed persist in the Wilderness of Dreams, maybe one day, when his research on the Wilderness of Dreams was more profound, the residents of the Dream Realm might also affect reality? Perhaps they could descend into the Reality Realm in another form?

...
With this in mind, Angel’s gaze gradually hardened, “Alright, I’ll try it now. I did promise Frode to bring Tullas in.”

With that, Angel immediately exited the Wilderness of Dreams.

After leaving, he glanced at Sanders sitting opposite, her head bowed, her palm propping up her cheek, her breathing steady, seemingly still inside the Wilderness of Dreams.

Angel didn’t disturb Sanders but quickly took out the Dead’s Church from his bracelet and tossed the somewhat weary Tullas into the Wilderness of Dreams first.

He then left the underground ice chamber, passed through the deserted corridor, and came to a door in the inner castle.

Not long ago, he stood here too. However, he didn’t push open the door at that time. This time, after a moment of silence, Angel opened the door.

As the door opened, a stench wafted out.

Inside, a thin figure dressed as a maid turned her head, her eyes diffusing with a crimson glow, and with a growl, she charged at Angel.

But she had only taken two or three steps before she discovered that the living person she had seen earlier had suddenly disappeared, and she herself had fallen into a pitch-black and chaotic world…

Angel looked at the woman who stood motionless in the Illusionary Realm; she was Mana, the Head Maid.

Since in the Illusionary Realm, Mana, the Head Maid, could not find the breath of the living, the red light flickering in her eyes slowly faded, and she once again entered a restful state.

Standing outside the Illusionary Realm, Angel took a deep look at Mana, the Head Maid, then with a heart full of complexity and sorrow, he brought her to the Wilderness of Dreams.

At the same time, the authority of the ‘Gate of Dreams’ popped up with a prompt. The prompt was mysterious and profound, like an enlightenment of the soul. If it were to be expressed in words, it would be: “Warning, foreign object has entered the Wilderness of Dreams!”

As this prompt surfaced, a mini sand table of the Wilderness of Dreams appeared in Angel’s mind; he could now place Mana, the Head Maid, anywhere in this sand table at will.

Just as Angel selected a spot near Originheart City, the ‘Gate of Dreams’ suddenly sprouted a prompt that had never appeared before.

“A strange energy has invaded, Gate of Dreams is automatically closing.”

With this prompt flooding Angel’s mind, he felt as if a massive gate had appeared before his eyes, and with a loud bang, it closed.

Mana, the Head Maid, who had been wandering outside the gate, was also forcefully returned to reality.

Mana, the Head Maid, opened her eyes at the right time, a flash of red light flickering from the bottom of her eyes, seemingly confused about her previous experience.

She looked around, still in darkness, and assumed that what had happened was a hallucination. She made no other movements but opted to rest again.

Angel, standing to the side, was full of shock and doubt—this was the first time the ‘Gate of Dreams’ closed the gate directly, rejecting the newcomer!

Stunned for a moment, as if realizing something, Angel immediately left.

He went to Old Pat’s underground cellar, entered invisibly, and did not disturb anyone. He wanted to experiment again to see if he could pull the restful servants below into the Wilderness of Dreams.

“A strange energy has invaded, Gate of Dreams is automatically closing.” Prompt after prompt kept leaping into Angel’s mind.

He tried ten times, all unsuccessfully.

He was completely dumbfounded; does that mean that the servants affected by the Crimson Authority could not enter the Wilderness of Dreams?

When Angel returned to the Wilderness of Dreams, Frode and Sanders were still there, with Frode standing aside with a bowed head, and Sanders flipping through the ‘Observations of the Dream Wilderness.’

“Why don’t I see Tullas?” Angel asked about Tullas after arriving. He had positioned Tullas right outside the Marine Theater when taking him into the Wilderness of Dreams.

Frode: “Tullas is very familiar with Originheart City; he left on his own as soon as he got in.”

Angel nodded. Tullas had been cooped up for several months, being wild and free now seemed natural enough.

“It seems your experiment failed; those servants couldn’t come in, could they?” Sanders put down his topic for a moment and looked up at Angel.

Angel wore a profoundly bewildered expression, no need for him to speak, both Sanders and Frode had already gleaned the results of the experiment.

“What exactly happened?” Sanders asked.

Angel didn’t hide anything, recounting the events exactly as they occurred.

“Strange energy invaded?” Sanders pondered for a while: “It seems it’s an energy unwelcome by the current rules of the Wilderness of Dreams, so it can’t be recognized.”

“Incompatible with the rules of the ‘current stage’ of the Wilderness of Dreams?” Angel was taken aback, “Does the Mentor mean that it might accommodate in the future?”

Sanders shook his head, “I cannot be certain of that, but you have mentioned before… ‘that person’ was able to bring their power into the Wilderness of Dreams, indicating that it is not completely incapable of accommodating high-energy forces. So, this is merely my conjecture.”

The ‘person’ Sanders referred to was ‘Shava’, who had killed the giant beast outside the Dream Realm when the Wilderness of Dreams was first established.

Sanders: “However, I have a theory.”

Angel looked at Sanders, waiting for his explanation.

“You said the power of the ‘Gate of Dreams’ prevents the entrance of strange energy, does that mean that the reason those servants couldn’t enter is possibly due to the energy that resides within them?”

“And why this energy is strange stems from the fact that they come from a Mysterious Object — the Crimson Authority.”

As Sanders spoke, Frode seemed to remember something and suddenly said, “That’s right, when I was searching for past records of the Dream Conch, I once saw a note stating that the Dream Conch couldn’t pull a Mysterious Object into the dreams. And the birth of the Wilderness of Dreams is actually closely related to the Dream Conch.”

Frode’s words made it immediately clear to Angel.

Mysterious Objects cannot be brought into the Wilderness of Dreams by the Dream Conch, and the Crimson Authority is a Mysterious Object. Therefore, if the servants’ bodies harbor mysterious energy created by the Crimson Authority, it would make sense for them to be expelled by the ‘Gate of Dreams’.

“So, if we can expel the mysterious energy from their bodies, we can take them into the Wilderness of Dreams?” Angel realized.

“That should be the case.”

According to Sanders’s previous statements, the group of servants was currently in a dilemma. If they don’t expel the energy, they will continue to be mad and deranged. But if they expel the energy from their bodies, indeed they can become lucid, yet they will die immediately after regaining consciousness.

That is, the opportunity to pull them into the Wilderness of Dreams only exists in the moment they regain consciousness.

But now there was a new problem: how to expel the energy within their bodies?

Angel and Sanders shared a glance: “It seems that we must wait for the results from Suise’s end.”

If it could be confirmed that someone else was secretly controlling the Crimson Authority, then catching the true master of the Crimson Authority might make it possible to expel the energy inside the servants.

…

This was a vast and desolate wilderness, with nothing in sight.

It was very far away from Originheart City. One might say, for mortals to measure it on foot, it would take many years to reach this place.

However, there were now two figures that appeared here.

It was Angel and Sanders.

In the center between them, a sphere of light was floating up and down. Upon seeing this light sphere, a look of surprise flashed in Sanders’s eyes.

In fact, Angel had mentioned before that the Wilderness of Dreams was essentially a gigantic Nightmare Realm.

And this light sphere was the Principal Body of the Nightmare Domain.

Meaning, the gathering of all authority was this very sphere of light in front of them.

“Mentor, is it possible?” Angel asked.

Sanders remained silent for a moment before shaking his head, “I can feel that the Principal Body of the Nightmare Domain strongly repels me, and besides, in the Wilderness of Dreams, I am a mortal. I might not be able to obtain any related authority. Never mind, I won’t accept authority for now. Let’s wait until you acquire the power to bring real strength into the Wilderness of Dreams before discussing it again.”

Angel had brought Sanders here to try and see if they could share authority.

He had been contemplating sharing power for a long time.

Because in order to perfect the Wilderness of Dreams, more authorities needed to manifest.

And he himself, due to a constraint of power and not yet advancing to Official Wizard, was unable to obtain any more authority for the time being. Even if he advanced to a Legend in the future, the number of authorities he could obtain was likely to be limited, perhaps not even half could be attained.

Therefore, even for the development of the Wilderness of Dreams, it was necessary to plan for power-sharing.

Of course, the prerequisite was that before sharing power, Angel needed to acquire the core authority of the Principal Body of the Nightmare Domain, also known as the supreme authority. This way, he could balance the distribution of powers.

He hadn’t yet obtained the core authority, but he had still brought Sanders here.

The main reason was that he trusted Sanders.

Yet to Angel’s surprise, although Sanders saw the Principal Body of the Nightmare Domain, he chose not to fuse with the authority at this time. His reason seemed plausible, but how could he know whether he would be able to obtain any authority without trying?

“Let’s talk about the authority later. Let’s go back for now. It should be about time for some results from Suise’s side,” Sanders said, and his figure directly disappeared from the Wilderness of Dreams.

Angel pondered for a moment. Could it be that Sanders’s decision was out of consideration for him?

He had previously said that he went to look for the Magic Rune Scroll that increased luck attributes in order to gain the core authority. Was Sanders aware of this, and so he chose not to fuse with the authority, waiting instead for him to obtain the core authority?

Angel did not know if this was the reason, but given Sanders’s keen insight, it might indeed be the case.
