Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

The six major Star River-level beings gathered together, and after a discussion, their final thought was to continue the pursuit.

They had no choice but to pursue.

Because if they didn’t pursue and turned back now, the Lord of the Domain would certainly not consider their mission to be complete, and they might even face some punishment.

Of course, the biggest reason is their dissatisfaction.

Clearly, this guy refused to reveal his identity. If he had told them earlier that he was the target of their expedition, they might have spared no efforts to use their assassin move on him.

And if they used the assassin move, they would definitely be able to win the fight against Jia Yan.

”Let’s pursue. If we can catch up to him, next time we won’t hold back at all, and I’ll be the first to use my assassin move.”

The close-combat mid-stage Star River being, with a hint of coldness in his eyes, said.

To him, this battle was a humiliation.

A creature of the same grade, under the siege of their two Star River mid-stage beings, managed to retreat calmly and even killed a member of their team.

What is this if not humiliation?

The other Star River-level beings had no rebuttal.

Because they pretty much had similar sentiments.

They must pursue, and if they catch up, they’ll use the assassin move right from the start, ensuring that their target would absolutely not escape.

Swoosh swoosh swoosh.

Buzz buzz buzz.

In the subspace at ten degrees, it was as though a small pebble had been thrown into an eternally calm area, causing ripples.

The approaching creature blasted its way through, splitting open large areas of the surrounding world.

”This battle was one of the most dangerous I’ve faced since advancing to the Star River middle stage, outside of encountering the Domain Master creature.”

Jia Yan reflected.

Although the overall process of this battle seemed to lack any thrill or blood-pumping moments,

As the protagonist, Jia Yan could share his sentiments on this battle: it was extremely challenging.

He could say it was like walking on thin ice, with life and death potentially determined in a single step.

Luckily, he pulled through it.

If not, the one being killed and split into pieces, treated as war spoils by the enemy, would have been him.

”Though this battle seemed perilous, the rewards are immense; a foot has been born, the mutated shell has also strengthened, and the arduous tempering of my body has shortened the time needed for my mutation.”

Pushed forward by Adisa, Jia Yan was no longer worried about any dangers.

At least for him, the subspace at ten degrees felt like his domain, with no other existence capable of reaching this depth to attack him.

So he was contemplating, reflecting on his gains.

This battle, naturally, caused significant losses for the enemy, but for Jia Yan, the rewards were even greater.

As for the losses, they naturally exist, such as him, once again, exposing his identity, and even his mutated form was revealed. If the enemies have means of researching his cells, they might discern his differences.

After all, Jia Yan left behind much biological tissue and skin in the previous battle area.

These remnants would be gathered by the enemies, maybe some scientists or biologists might research and uncover some minor aspects, causing hindrance to Jia Yan.

However, at least for now, Jia Yan needn’t worry too much about these things.

If a strong one’s biological tissues could be researched to develop countermeasures, most of the strong ones in the Milky Way would want to eradicate the scientific system.

In fact, Jia Yan had similar unfortunate experiences before, such as at his son Jia Rong’s birth, where his tissues were gathered by hostile groups for research.

However, the more powerful he became, the less effective his tissues were for the enemies.

A strong one remains strong, and once the biological cells mature, they become nearly impossible to study. The cells’ inherent will would cause self-destruction upon inspection, making it so that most strong ones are never analyzed by hospitals or similar institutions.

Even if an analysis succeeded, it wouldn’t mean much. If the mysteries of a strong one were that easily uncovered, it wouldn’t be the era of strong ones anymore.

Perhaps, there may be a scientific era in the future, but it’s certainly not the time now.

”Next, I just need to find a relatively safer place, where these guys won’t catch up to me, and wait for my mutation to complete...”

”Once my mutation is complete, I feel I could perhaps give these guys a bit of a surprise next time.”

Jia Yan smiled faintly.

This time, the danger was real, yet the rewards were ample.

But he was still pondering, if given the chance to show these guys something, it would be delightful.

Of course, with his current strength, demonstrating anything substantial isn’t realistic.

Because Jia Yan still lacks the power to defeat the remaining six Star River-level beings.

So he figured the enemy might indeed pursue his trail.

He would distance himself, use the time gap, and complete the entire mutation process. Once done, he could perhaps show these creatures a thing or two.

Jia Yan didn’t know how much he would enhance upon completing this full mutation.

But he knew, once mutated successfully, he’d be much stronger than now. Given that he can already face the six Star River-level beings, wouldn’t success mean a slight chance to wipe out their allied army?

That would be heartening indeed.

Even if Jia Yan doubted that he could truly accomplish this, at the very least, it seems challenging right now.

But dreams are necessary; even if he can’t eradicate them, he was confident that once his mutation was completed, he would no longer fear the joint forces of these six Star River early-stage middle life creatures.

”Heh, six Star River creatures, with mid-levels among them. Once, I feared a single mid-stage Star River creature, but now? I’ve reached the mid-stage myself and feel like I’m no longer afraid of two mid-stage Star River creatures teaming up.”

Jia Yan felt a bit sentimental.

Yet he forced himself to stay focused.

Because above the Star River mid-level creatures, there’s a supposed ’Domain Master’ level, vastly different in power.

Moreover, above the Domain Master lie even more terrifying high-level Galaxy creatures, and even peak creatures exist.

Though the Domain Master is so strong as to leave one amazed, what about the high-level Galaxy creatures, or even peak creatures?

Thinking about it, Jia Yan felt like looking up at a towering mountain, realizing he was far from strong enough.

”Theoretically, Domain Masters are all mid-level Galaxy creatures, but their power is worlds apart from ordinary mid-level Galaxy creatures. Would the gap between high-level creatures and Domain Master creatures be just as vast? Peak ones?”

Whenever Jia Yan contemplated these questions, he felt a sense of awe for the universe.

Because the universe is so vast, it instills a sense of despair among creatures.

The strong ones’ hierarchy is the same; it seems transparent, but you’ll never know how powerful the most potent existence is.

Maybe...

Jia Yan pondered.

Perhaps, there are even stronger beings above the Star River level?

”I shouldn’t think too much, overthinking is painful, especially since my main goal right now is to focus on completing the mutation.”

Jia Yan forced himself to stop overthinking.

Then, he immersed himself in his heart and mind.

He was digesting the gains from the battle.

Mainly to reinforce the solidity caused by the assault from a group of enemies, strengthening these areas.

This was quite beneficial to the final step of his mutation.

”Adisa, locate the nearest starfield to the Milky Way Central for me, preferably a safe spot, best if it’s a Three No-Care Area like the Gray Star Region.”
