Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Jia Yan thought about the surrounding materials, which were very much in line with his own mutation requirements. He was immediately filled with joy. As previously mentioned, the mutation of Big Mosquito wasn’t effective due to a single powerful substance but required a combination of many materials for the best effect.

If one didn’t consider the presence of powerful beings above and the possible pursuit, the current terrain might even be the best conditions ever!

”Dig faster, we must gather the energy needed for mutation before they find this place...”

Jia Yan had in fact been prepared for this moment; if the pursuers caught up with him, he would escape just like this. He had done something similar on Earth before, mutating while engaging in combat with fighter jets.

From that experience, he had realized that his combat power tended to increase during the mutation process, so he planned to do the same this time. If the enemy pursued him, he would take his mutating body and escape!

But the biggest problem at the moment was whether he could withstand the intense pain of mutation. If he lost consciousness, all would be in vain and he would have no choice but to surrender.

Just as Jia Yan was psyching himself up with his own willpower...

A sudden and clear booming vibration erupted from above in the earth!

”They’re here!?” A serious look flashed in his Compound Eyes.

Boom, boom, boom, boom!!!!

An incredibly terrifying Strength Feeling, passing through the earth above, hammered down fiercely on the layer of earth where Jia Yan was hiding!

”Such terrifying power, could it be one of the Strong Ones?!” Jia Yan, sensing the strength seeping down through the upper layers of earth, felt astonished—even though the dense Chaos stone neutralized it by the time it reached him, leaving him unharmed.

This power was incredibly strong; it seemed almost inconceivable to Jia Yan. The energy within his body might not even be half as powerful as the enemy’s!

Keep in mind that this supposed half includes the new energy he was currently absorbing!

Based solely on his earlier capacity, his energy might not have been even a quarter of the enemy’s strength.

”It may not necessarily be one of the Strong Ones, if it were, it might even be stronger!” Jia Yan analyzed while also feeling a bit anxious.

The enemy was bombarding the surface a hundred kilometers away, evidently after discovering his location!

How long then could a mere hundred kilometers of the Chaos Stone Area’s barrier withstand the assault from the power above?

He didn’t know!

”Quick, quick! There’s so much Chaos stone here, yet it still isn’t enough for me to absorb rapidly!”

Jia Yan’s body was just beginning the mutation, the Condensation Fluid starting to envelop him, and he was still able to move. So he immediately stirred in his urgency.

Rumble, rumble, rumble...

The Chaos stones around him were being pushed aside one by one.

”My strength has indeed become much stronger! This level of increase is comparable to the Mantis Referee from before!” Jia Yan’s eyes brightened. This was without even using True Energy. Although he didn’t know how strong that Mantis Referee was at its strongest state, at this moment, Jia Yan felt that if he went all out in a head-on fight, he could definitely defeat that powerful referee!

This is the fearsome aspect of Evolutionary Creatures; for an ordinary Strong One, to advance from the Early Stars level to the Mantis Referee’s Level could take an unimaginable amount of time, whereas Jia Yan, as an Evolutionary Creature, had almost matched that referee in strength in just a few days while still halfway through his mutation!

The bombardment from above continued unabated, and the rumbling sounds started to become audible here as well.

Jia Yan’s body moved even more anxiously, but the concentration of Chaos stones everywhere failed to meet his expectations.

He wanted to absorb enough Chaos Stone Energy before the enemy arrived, to store the energy directly, and then use the increased strength from the mutation to make the most of his escape!

After all, Jia Yan understood that even if he completed the mutation, whether he was stronger or weaker than the top ten Strong Ones here would only be determined after a fight. Before the mutation was complete, his strength was nothing compared to the level of the Strong Ones, and perhaps the only remarkable thing about him was probably his Bluish defense...

In the midst of continuous absorption, due to the invasion of Radiation Energy, the bluish color in Jia Yan’s body grew brighter and brighter!

His Bluish Defense’s defensive power seemed to have made significant progress at this moment.

To say that his body didn’t hurt would be a lie!

Pain!

Numbness!

Itchiness!

The energy from the Chaos stone was like heartburn-inducing strong liquor, constantly eating away at Jia Yan’s innards and causing intense pain in his body.

Moreover, once Jia Yan started moving, the pain became even more severe, as if the paralyzing pain one feels when moving numb parts of the human body, only a thousand to ten thousand times more intense!

His bodily tissues were disintegrating, and the Condensation Fluid was gradually replacing general bodily matter, wrapping his body more tightly.

The bombardment above was gradually drawing closer to this location.

”I’m still halfway short of the required amount of Chaos Stone Energy for mutation!” Jia Yan struck his forelimbs outward in frustration as he continuously bombarded the area around him.
