However, without any surprise, the creature counterattacked by thrusting its shrunken limbs once more, blocking Jia Yan’s attack.

Jia Yan retreated several steps.

He was slightly solemn, after all, this guy’s defense was extremely formidable. When Jia Yan’s attacks landed, those retracted limbs would come out in defense, and their speed and strength seemed even more formidable than the rest of Electric Society’s limbs.

”However, the strength I’m using now is only at the level I used against that tentacled monster yesterday. Aside from using some tactical moves, I’m still reserving the strength I held back yesterday! If I were to use my full speed, I might be able to defeat him in one strike. But...”

There was a glint in Jia Yan’s Compound Eyes as he watched the Electric Society opponent. This guy wasn’t an insurmountable mountain for Jia Yan, but he didn’t want to reveal any more of his strength.

If he kept unleashing his power, he would have fewer trump cards for the future. Jia Yan always remembered, this was just a match, his real strength must be preserved for a life-and-death moment in the future. Otherwise, the task he was attempting, which was already akin to a desperate gamble, would become utterly hopeless if all was laid bare.

”Reserve strength! Even if I lose, I’ll only use up to eighty percent!”

The strength Jia Yan was using was roughly seventy percent, and he slightly increased his strength to around seventy-five percent.

The speed of his attacks suddenly increased!

Don’t underestimate the addition of half a percent, in battles among the strong, such a small margin could decide victory or defeat!

”He still has hidden strength, this guy is really unfathomable!” The Electric Society panicked when it saw Jia Yan’s increased speed and attack power.

The host of the competition, being a Cosmic Level Being, though he didn’t possess the fearsome power of the Mantis Referee, still had considerable insight into the Starry Sky Level Experts.

”Oh! Jia Yan has burst forth again. This Angel Camp external helper, who dominated his opponents yesterday, does he even have a limit to his strength? Facing a mighty adversary, one that is infinitely close to the Mid-Starry Sky Period, he has once again brought out even greater strength. He really is unfathomable. Could it be that we’re all unaware that this player is actually at the Mid-Starry Sky Period?”

The Mantis Referee, watching the battle unfold, was also astonished. He had personally tried Jia Yan’s strength yesterday while helping the tentacled monster defend, and he knew Jia Yan had concealed some of his power. But it seemed today, Jia Yan was hiding much more!

Moreover, regardless of how he looked at it, Jia Yan’s movements seemed smoother than yesterday’s. That was what surprised him the most. The strength of a strong one comes from prolonged cultivation. For this guy to suddenly move in a way that fits the combat so well, it was indeed hard to explain.

”Die die die die!” Electric Society seemed to have forgotten that this was a competitive arena combat; it furiously launched its attacks at Jia Yan, one after another. It knew that compared to Mid-Starry Sky Period Super Powerhouses, it wasn’t much, but self-proclaimed capable of defeating weaker Mid-term powerhouses, it was now being suppressed by an equal-level opponent, causing a fit of fury.

In the face of so many spectators and Strong Ones, this originally recognized Early Stage Super Powerhouse was now utterly humiliated.

Boom boom boom!!!——————

A series of attacks exploded on the ground as Jia Yan kept tumbling, dodging in what seemed a clumsy manner.

But to some observant people, it seemed like the Electric Society was doomed despite Jia Yan’s apparent disadvantage.

Because its attacks were becoming erratic, Jia Yan was like a hungry wolf waiting for the prey to deplete its energy—just waiting for its struggle to cease before pouncing and tearing it to shreds.

Sure enough, although Electric Society had a formidable fighting prowess, at the end of the day, it was a typical Early Star Space powerhouse. After dozens of high-energy blasts with no results, its Combat Energy began to decrease.

”Now’s the time!” Jia Yan seized the opportunity and struck fiercely at his opponent’s head with his forelimb.

But instead of the massive forelimb of the Mantis that was expected, a ’Shadow’ as quick as lightning lashed out, blocking Jia Yan’s attacking limb with ferocity.

After a loud noise, Jia Yan stumbled backward.

”I will not be defeated by you so easily.”

Electric Society’s expression turned fierce as it looked at Jia Yan, its eyes filled with a crazed will to fight.

Another limb that had been well hidden in its thorax emerged; previously it had been concealed within its body, perhaps even its trump card, but now it was unleashed to face off against Jia Yan!

”Still not giving up!”

Jia Yan, having missed his strike, began to feel a surge of anger. With a sudden move, he hurled himself towards Electric Society for an attack.

With the addition of two hidden limbs for defense, Electric Society’s defensive capability improved significantly. Now, whether Jia Yan tried close or ranged attacks, he couldn’t break through the opponent’s defense in a short span of time.

In a sudden moment, Jia Yan rushed close to Electric Society’s body and then, drawing near, he stabbed towards it with his forelimb.

”The same move again!”

Electric Society shouted, and then one of the hidden limbs fiercely thrust out.

Jia Yan had already used this kind of attack several times, and Electric Society had become familiar with Big Mosquito’s close combat patterns. No matter how Jia Yan changed his tactics, if it could defend against attacks below its chest with its two hidden limbs, it could counter Big Mosquito’s offensive!

And this time, it was prepared for another tactic. Having defended himself, it now prepared to counterattack Jia Yan with one of its forelimbs, even though it was aware of how slim the chances were of defeating Jia Yan. But it had to try!

But this time, Jia Yan’s attack was different!

Clang!!

When Electric Society blocked Jia Yan’s attack, then its forelimb, readied for a counterattack, thrust towards Jia Yan...

Splat!!!!!——————

A dark silhouette, like a lightning strike, pierced through.
