Beyond Chaos – A DiceRPG

It was they who stepped within the estate, the kind who could ignore the guards at the front, those within their pristine shalwar, their gleaming chain, their bright steel, for they were those under such a name, but that name meant only as much as they allowed in the land which steel smelled of blood.

”Papos! Papos!” cried the child, rushing up to them, followed closely behind by her brother, then her elder siblings. The children stopped, for they noticed the two following behind, each near identical, to the point even Jirot narrowed her eyes.

’They are...’ the twins thought, the four now but one.

”Papo, I bought you gifts,” the girl said, revealing a tiny ribbon, which she tied to their left wrists. ”It is good luck to wear this as you hold a shield.”

”Thank you.”

”Aha! My niece is always thinking of my health!” The Iyrman brushed the girl’s hair, causing her to flush, smirk, and the side eye him.

”Of coas, papo. Of coas.”

Little Jarot also held up a small cloth ring for her papos, Konarot gifted them each a comb, while Kirot brought them a brush, and Karot held up a small cup for each of them, each of cups engraved beautifully upon the base with Aswadic patterns.

Chosen then reached into his cloak and brought out hard sweets for his nieces and nephews, causing Tanagek to blink.

’Am I... the fool between us?’

The realisation within his heart stunned the young Iyrman.

”Cousin Adam, I have brought gifts for you too,” Chosen called, beckoning the half elf before motioning towards the twins, who straightened up once his attention was upon them.

”Oh?” Jurot mused.

”The Twin Steel Sabres?” Kitool assumed.

’So cool,’ the half elf thought.

”This is Adam Fate, Executive of the United Kindom, though you may call him Mo Adam or Executive Adam.”

”Mo Adam,” the pair replied, slapping their palm over their fist, bowing their heads lightly, for he was not a man of Noor, though he was still a man of the cloth.

”It seems a pair of young heroes have arrived!” Adam said, smiling wide, then turning to look to Chosen, though it was Tanagek who leaned in to whisper.

”I have managed to procure them for ten years for the United Kindom.”

”It was I, who suggested it,” Chosen said. ”It was also I who earned it!”

”Oh?”

”They are Weal and Woe Sabres apprentices.”

’So cool,’ the half elf thought.

A little gasp filled the air, this time little Jarot covered his mouth, though his sister had also raised her brows upon hearing the name,

’Hmm?’ Adam blinked. ”I had no idea we were in esteemed company.”

”Mo, please, do not trouble yourself!” the pair half exclaimed to the half elf.

”So...” Adam turned to look towards Tanagek, and took half step away.

”He is a warrior who may be considered even among the Radiant Blade or Scholar Muh.”

Adam’s brows raised suddenly in alarm, for when he met them the previous year, he had felt how dangerous they were. Even he, as he was now, a man who had claimed victory against the likes of a Fariq and Fariq Thanwi, was not confident. ”So these two are his apprentices?”

”His older apprentices. There is still a connection, but it is not as deep as with their younger martial brother, Rais. They are naturally well skilled, although they are not very bright.”

”Their smiles are bright at least.”

”They are Experts, even at their age.”

”They seem young.”

”Twenty five or so,” Tanagek confirmed.

”Oh ho?” Adam smiled even wider. ”They’re pretty talented!”

”Yes.”

’A pair of Experts at twenty five?’ Adam rubbed his chin lightly, considering what a feat that was. It wasn’t as though it was out of the ordinary, but only those who worked hard could manage to reach such a feat, whereas others may spend their entire life reaching such a realm. ”I’ll need to treat Yasha better.”

Tanagek blinked.

Oh.

Right.

”I promised on your behalf the business would pay them a thousand gold as a primary gift, then at least a magical weapon at the end of their ten year term.”

”You spent so much of my money?”

”It is our gift to you.”

”I guess they’re that important...” Adam thought about the connection they had with someone like the Weal and Woe Sabres, who he was mostly unfamiliar with, but if he was considered among the likes of Scholar Muh and Radiant Blade, each who would cause the Sleeping Dragon to pause, then he would need to treat them well, and show his gratitude properly.

”They are talented,” Tanagek repeated.

”That talented?”

”They may be simple, but if you test them, you will see. Although they are not as talented as John, or yourself, they may have been considered Golden Children within the Iyr.”

Adam refrained from whistling, but if his cousin had gone this far for them, he would need to test the pair out, out of respect.

”You wish to test us, Mo?” the pair replied at once.

’What the…’ the half elf thought. ”Yes.”

”Mo, it is no disrespect to you, but we are Experts.”

”I know.”

”Though we are two, we fight as one, but we are as strong as three.”

”It just so happens that...” Adam’s lips formed a smile, and he looked towards his daughter. ”Dear, this father of yours, do you think he will lose against the Twin Steel Sabres?”

”The Twin Steel Sabres, taught by Weal and Woe Sabres,” Jirot muttered to herself, curling a finger over her lip in thought.

Adam blinked. ’Why are you thinking for so long?’

’Salt and butter? I am in Aswadasad now, so I should salt and butter and spice the potato.’

’Kaka, you are bullying daddy too much...’ little Jarot thought.

”Though my daddy is one, and my daddy fights as one, my daddy is as strong as...” The girl held up her entire hand. ”My daddy! He is as strong as five... hundred!”

The twins blinked, for the girl had thought five was too little, but upon saying five hundred, she sat upright, as though she were a little Shen, spouting such nonsense without any shame at all.

’I guess if I used...’ The half elf thought. ’My record is... a hundred?’

”Relax,” Chosen called. ”Cousin Adam isn’t that weak.”

”Don’t worry, it’s just a light spar,” Adam said, holding up his hands, then clenching them into fists, cracking his knuckles. ”This akh of yours will treat you well!”

”You will not use your axe?”

”I said it’s a light spar.”

”Okay...” The pair then held up a palm and a fist, mirroring one another, standing before the half elf. ’We cannot beat the Mo too harshly in front of his family...’

Battle Order

D20 + 1 = 4 (3)

Health: 140 -> 121

As the pair thrust forward their palms, they half expected the half elf to fly back, to keel from their blows, for unless he was at least an Expert, he would have dropped to a knee.

”Ah?” the half elf said as they struck his muscular stomach, which tensed, almost becoming iron. ”Are you worrying for me?”

Yet, the shadow known as Adam remained upon them.

The fist moved through the air as though it were pushing through muck, and yet, as the white glow of holy magics outlined it, the twin hacked in deep pain, having taken a pair of blows from the half elf, who alternated between them, yet only struck with his left.

”Ack!” the pair coughed out, though only one was struck.

The Mo was strong.

’I told them daddy could beat up five hundred...’ Jirot thought, letting out an annoyed sigh. ’Are they slow? Tut tut. It is a good thing they are both handsome.’

A hand atop her head distracted her for a moment, as her greatfather peeked down at the girl, who was certainly thinking of something troublesome.

’Should I slay the Weal and Woe Sabres?’ the old Jarot thought.

”We will have to do that!” the pair half exclaimed, grabbing one another by their wrists.

”Rising river, lurking dragon!” the pair exclaimed, and with the momentum of a swing, empowered by his twin brother, the twin upon Adam’s left, which had taken the greatest blows, leapt into the air, his boots firmly striking the half elf’s chest, followed an instant later by the lurking dragon, with a swiftness not even Adam had expected. Then, the moment the half elf would fly through the air, it was then the rising dragon would appear too!

Although, obviously, the half elf would fall before their second greatest technique!
