Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Chapter 1684 Semi-Public Lecture, Need For a Senior Blacksmith and the Strange Tree Root

Spending some time together with his third disciple after leaving Mui and Song Jia to play around with Baobao on their own, Xuan Hao soon found himself unable to leave Bai Ningʼs forge after he began teaching him the Dao of Blacksmithing, as his third disciple was fully absorbed in learning from him and was unwilling to let go now that he finally had an opportunity to deepen his understanding of the Dao of Blacksmithing.

After all, at the end of the day, his comprehension of the Dao of Blacksmithing was at the Elementary Realm, while his masterʼs understanding had reached the Large Success Realm. Meaning that even a bit of guidance would be immensely helpful to him…

”Huh? Is that Senior Brother Baiʼs master!?”

And more importantly than that, Bai Ningʼs forge wasnʼt exactly in a secluded corner and was in one of the more prominent locations of the sectʼs forges where other blacksmithing disciples and even elders often passed through.

”To think someone like that is here… No! More importantly, he is teaching him about blacksmithing!”

”Indeed, he is- Wait! Isnʼt this an opportunity for us as well? If we can listen in, we could potentially also benefit from Senior Brotherʼs master!”

”True! I doubt Senior Brother Bai would care, on the other hand, I think he would be overjoyed learning about our goal of improving as blacksmiths!”

Because of this, before long, disciples and elders from the Blacksmithing Hall soon began to gather to listen to him teaching his disciple. Hoping to learn something themselves in the process.

At first, Xuan Hao didnʼt really care about this and honestly encouraged it as a public lecture under the guise of teaching his disciple was beneficial to the sect, but as time dragged on and his disciple began asking questions that he should know about with his current understanding of Blacksmithing, it became clear to him that the public lecture had already turned into an official one.

The question his disciple had begun asking came from a few nervous disciples within the slowly growing crowd of people, who had passed the question over to his disciple discreetly through divine sense.

Of course, there was no way for them to hide this kind of thing from him given the difference in his and those discipleʼs cultivation realm, but he decided to ignore it and play along with his disciple and continue the lecture. Ensuring that those disciples could hear him clearly as he patiently explained the answer to his disciple who was eagerly nodding his head in response. Almost like his answers had directly enlightened him and caused his realm to break through to the Small Success Realm.

Then again, the joy shown by his disciple wasnʼt entirely fabricated for show, as he seemed genuinely overjoyed at the prospect of the sectʼs disciples and elders tied to blacksmithing improving with the help of his master.

In a sense, it was because of this that he decided to indulge him and put on this little play that helped benefit the blacksmiths of the sect. After all, compared to the Alchemy Hall that had Pei Yang as a solid pillar to lean on, the Blacksmithing Hall of the sect didnʼt really have anyone that senior to guide them.

On the other hand, the most senior figure in the Dao of Blacksmithing was none other than himself and Yi Min, followed by his disciple who had broken through to the Elementary Realm in the Dao of Blacksmithing not too long ago.

Thinking about it like that, the Star Shattering Sect was really lacking someone like Pei Yang for Blacksmithing Hall. After all, even if Yi Min did help from time to time, her main focus was still on the Iron Sky Kingdom, and she couldnʼt stay around teaching the sectʼs blacksmiths all the time.

Unfortunately, finding someone that skilled in the Dao of Blacksmithing was incredibly difficult under normal circumstances, as most of them would have long since been absorbed by one of the major powers on the continent due to their potential of reaching the Saint Realm in the future.

Speaking of the Saint Realm, he did know one blacksmith who could potentially fill the void currently present in the Star Shattering Sectʼs Blacksmithing Hall… That person was none other than Gong Cheng, the Saint Realm Blacksmith who had taught him and Yi Min in the past.

It was not that he didnʼt want to recruit Gong Cheng to join the Star Shattering Sect in the past, it was just that it would be rather troublesome for him to travel through the territory of the demonic cultivators with the current state of the Frozen Wastelands and the potential chance of running into a demonic cultivator capable of detecting him while in the process of a long distance teleportation.

Although he wasnʼt weak by any means, he still felt extremely cautious when it came to the Frozen Wastelands. Understanding that they should have something to rely on to dare challenge so many major powers, some of which, like the Blue Sea Empire, even had the backing of a Profound Immortal Realm cultivator at the Land Creation Realm.

But now that his comprehension of the Dao of Space had improved and his cultivation had broken through to the Middle Stage of the Sea Formation Realm, he felt far more confident in being able to escape in case something unexpected happened. Even in the face of someone in the Star Formation Realm, he felt like he would be capable of escaping by relying on his profound comprehension of the Dao of Space.

Of course, this belief was mainly just his own thoughts, as he hadnʼt had the opportunity to encounter anyone at that realm yet and had no clue if he would be able to escape from someone that powerful, but… He at least felt confident that he would have the ability to do so now.

For this reason, shortly after he finished up his lecture with Bai Ning that ended up lasting close to half a day longer than he had originally expected due to the large number of disciples and elders who had shown up to listen along the way, he went directly to Elder Song to inquire about the current state of the Frozen Wastelands.

No matter how confident he might be in his own strength, there was no way he would just recklessly try and pass through the Frozen Wastelands without first finding out about the current state of the place.

Not that surprisingly, information on the state of the Frozen Wastelands wasnʼt that easy to come by and Elder Song informed him that he would have to wait at least three days before he could get a clear picture of the overall state of the Frozen Wastelands through a nearby branch of the Explorer Union. After all, when it came to this kind of information, the Star Shattering Sectʼs information network was still far too small. At most extending into a few surroundings powers.

But during the process of meeting with Elder Song to inquire about the Frozen Wastelands, he also ended up learning about the strange wiggling tree root that Qing Yi and Chun Hua had encountered and in turn how this strange tree root had been brought back to the sect by Pei Yang and was currently sealed off with the help of the sectʼs guardian formation.

To say he was interested would be an understatement, as he wasted no time seeking out the strange tree root with his divine sense after learning about it from Elder Song and soon enough he did find it tucked away in a remote corner of the sect, Pei Yang sitting not too far away to keep an eye on the tree root in case it did something.

Looking closer at this strange tree root with his divine sense, it wasnʼt difficult to understand why he had not noticed it when he had first returned to the sect, as it was in some kind of dormant state that made it look no different from a dead branch at first glance. Albeit a rather large dead branch.

Feeling a bit amused as he thought about how he had missed something that could be described as revolutionary for the sectʼs future development, he didnʼt waste much time after learning about it and locating it. Arriving directly next to Pei Yang a short time later before having him recount everything he knew about the strange tree root.

In the end, the more he learnt about the strange tree root, the more interested he became in this strange natural wonder that seemed to have the ability to increase the comprehension of anyone who observed it.

Although, he could at least conclude that the ability in question seemed to only be working when the strange tree root was wiggling, a rather strange requirement, but if it could help improve the comprehension of the sectʼs elders and disciples, he would be more than happy to give it a place to wiggle as much as it desired…
