Flying through the air towards the direction of the ship that Huang Yongyu had been placed on before it left the small dock of the Pure Heart City towards the Pure Heart Island, Xuan Hao suddenly blinked both his eyes in surprise upon sensing the ship suddenly coming to a halt around the midway point between Pure Heart Island and the Pure Heart City.

Normally, something like that would not happen and after further inspection with his divine sense, Xuan Hao quickly realized that the reason that the ship had stopped, was not so much because the people onboard had wanted it to stop… On the other hand, it had come to a stop due to a large demon beast taking on the shape of a large shark that had bitten into the ship.

Forcing it to come to a halt as the disciples from the Ghost Howl Sect on board frantically tried their best to get the demon beast shark to let go of the boat before other demon beasts began noticing what was happening.

At the same time, Xuan Hao noticed one person doing the complete opposite at the other end of the ship, as he dumped large amounts of different kinds of food into the lake. From normal vegetables to raw meat.

Going by Chu Yang and Qing Yiʼs description, that person should be the person from the River Sect that they wanted to save… Huang Yongyu!

”…”

Glancing over towards his two disciples and seeing both of them just looking around at the lake water passing by below them full of wonder, Xuan Hao decided to slow down his speed, so as to not arrive too quickly at the location of the ship.

Xuan Hao was really interested in seeing what kind of plan the disciple from the River Sect had come up with and how he planned to escape from the soon to be sinking ship…

After all, no matter how hard the disciples from the Ghost Howl Sect tried to deal with the shark demon beast, they would soon have to deal with even more demon beast and also stronger demon beasts!

The Pure Heart Lake was the territory of the demon beasts and when discovered, there was close to no way out.

This was also one of the reasons Xuan Hao was curious about how Huang Yongyu would escape his current predicament.

The River Sect had controlled the Pure Heart Lake for a long time, so he should at least have a few secret methods up his sleeve…

Observing Huang Yongyuʼs predicament from afar without his two disciples having any clue about their friendʼs current dangerous situation, Xuan Hao speed slowed down even further.

The only reason Chu Yang and Qing Yi didnʼt discover anything was due to the fact that they were too absorbed in watching the lake below. Looking out to see if they could spot any of the demon beasts hidden beneath the surface.

…

Splash!

”That should be the last of it… Now to find a way off this ship…”

Watching as the last bit of raw meat stored inside the small storage room with him was pushed into the lake water below him, Huang Yongyu smiled cheekily as he watched several shadows cautiously approaching the food floating just beside the ship before happily beginning to feast.

Bang!

Soon after, the still hungry demon beasts in the lake below began attacking the ship. All according to his plan!

With this, the ship would soon be overwhelmed by the endless amount of demon beasts in the Pure Heart Lake!

Huang Yongyu knew very well that the Pure Heart Lake was extremely dangerous and once the demon beasts found a ship floating on the surface, there would be no way to save the ship!

The River Sect understood this very well and had come up with several ways to prevent something like that from happening, as giving up the precious resources on the Pure Heart Island was simply not an option for them…

One of the methods they had come up with, was a special coating of sorts applied to the underside of the ship or boat. Making it harder for the demon beasts inside the Pure Heart Lake to spot it.

But this was not the only method the River Sect had come up with to safely cross the Pure Heart Lake, just the one that most other people knew about as they had made it public. For this reason, it was also this method that the sects like the Ghost Howl Sect used to travel between the Pure Heart City and the Pure Heart Island.

The other methods were something only the core members of the River Sect knew about!

”I really hope this works…”

Remembering the method, he had been taught about by his father when he was still young and had the opportunity to freely go to and from the Pure Heart Island, Huang Yongyu felt extremely nervous.

It had already been over 10 years since he had last used that method and he had no idea whether it would work or not, as he had never really gotten to train it in the first place and now that the River Sect no longer controlled the Pure Heart Island, there was no need for him to use it either. Focusing on his cultivation seemed to have been a way better option back then. Even if he now lamented over the fact that he had not spent any time on training like his parents had told him to do…

BANG!

Watching as a large shark demon beast suddenly appeared on the other side of the ship and violently bit down before violently trying to drag the ship below the surface, Huang Yongyu knew he wouldnʼt have a long time left before the even more terrifying demon beasts began showing up.

”Wai- How are you out here? Is this your doing?!”

Just as Huang Yongyu was about to make his escape, a group of Ghost Howl Sect disciples suddenly came rushing out and spotted him along with the few dozen empty containers used to store food just next to him.

”Farewell, good luck dealing with the demon beasts!”

Whoosh!

Not planning to wait for the Ghost Howl Sect disciples to recover from their shock before catching him again, Huang Yongyu ran away from the spot where he had dumped the food into the lake before jumping off the ship and into the lake water below a little further away.

Hoping that there werenʼt any demon beasts just below him.

Splash!

Hitting the water, Huang Yongyu didnʼt wait around for even a second as he hurriedly began executing his sectʼs secret technique and before long, Huang Yongyuʼs body began merging together with lake water before completely disappearing from view.

Neither the Ghost Howl Sectʼs disciples looking at him from the ship or the demon beasts rushing towards him from below, had any clue what happened as he seemingly disappeared into thin air.

Swish~

At the same time, a small movement could be seen on the surface of the water where Huang Yongyu had been just a moment ago before disappearing into the distance.

The technique in question was called Lake Shadow and it allowed Huang Yongyu to borrow the natural power flowing through the Pure Heart Lake to hide himself from others.

The technique was truly powerful when used on the Pure Heart Lake, but was completely useless outside of the Pure Heart Lake, this was the main reason Huang Yongyu hadnʼt bothered to continue learning the technique after his sect lost control over the Pure Heart Lake…

Now, he could barely execute the Lake Shadow technique and very clearly knew that it would not be able to last for a long time.

Huang Yongyuʼs plan was to get as far away from the ship before he could no longer keep up the Lake Shadow technique.

He hoped that the demon beasts below would ignore him and instead focus their attention on the ship from the Ghost Howl Sect instead.

This way, he might have a chance to make his way back to the shore of the Pure Heart Lake…

…

”How amazing…”

Xuan Hao could not help but sigh to himself in amazement when he watched Huang Yongyu use the Lake Shadow technique.

Compared to the demon beasts swimming past Huang Yongyu completely oblivious of his existence, Xuan Hao could still clearly see Huang Yongyu and quickly understood how he borrowed the natural power flowing through the Pure Heart Lake to hide himself from both the people on the side of the Ghost Howl Sect and the demon beasts.

The reason why the technique amazed Xuan Hao, however, was not this.

Instead, it was because he very clearly knew that borrowing power from the natural world was something one would only be able to start doing upon reaching the Nascent Soul Realm. Mainly due to the massive stress doing something like that would cause on the soul.

After reaching the Domain Lord Realm, Xuan Haoʼs control over the natural world increased to a new level. In a sense, his domain was just a manifestation of a small part of the natural world that he had managed to comprehend. Outside his sword and ice domain, there were still many more things left for him to understand…

Not to mention, he was far from fully understanding either of his two domains full potential… Only just recently having begun comprehending the power of a domain.

The Lake Shadow technique used by Huang Yongyu was similar to a Domain Lord using his domain to hide! The thing that amazed Xuan Hao was the fact someone in the Foundation Establishment Realm could do something only a Domain Lord would normally be capable of!
