Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Chapter 81: The Path Towards Improving Oneʼs Sense of Direction

”So… Chu Yang entered your house without permission and then proceeded to sneak up on your granddaughter in her house… Am I correct…?” Not knowing how to respond, Xuan Hao felt his eyebrow twitch slightly as he looked at the elder in front of him holding a beaten-up Chu Yang by the neck.

At this point, Xuan Hao doubted whether he was still conscious as he inspected a few swollen parts at his bottom, it looked like elder Wang had been quite heavy handed with him, at least it was not something that couldnʼt heal over a few days.

At the very least, it was nothing serious for a Foundation Establishment cultivator, so Xuan Hao did not really care much about the injuries that his new disciple had received, at this moment he was more worried about why his new disciple had sneaked into two different peopleʼs houses, though he did have some idea about how it could have happened…

”Yes! And when I called out to this scoundrel, sorry for the language elder Xuan, he just ran away without explaining anything!” Looking extremely aggrieved, elder Wang angrily threw the unconscious Chu Yang on the ground.

”Argh, w-where am I…?” Maybe due to the sudden impact of being thrown to the ground, Chu Yang blinked his eyes in confusion as he slowly looked around and saw the scary elder Wang who had been chasing him for the last few hours standing in front of his new master with a heartbroken and aggrieved expression.

”Elder Xuan, you must help obtain justice for me and my poor granddaughter! If someone like this is to run around the Flying Sword Sect, what will happen to all the other young ladies like my granddaughter?! What would happen if I had not arrived on time?!” Not minding that Chu Yang had awoken, elder Wang stated his purpose for coming.

The so-called justice was just him asking for some crafting materials or spirit stones.

”…” Xuan Hao knew this very well, but the only precious materials he had were the Moon Silver and Ash Sunstone that he had gotten from the system…

Other than that, he had a few spirit stones that the sect gave out to the elders every month, but that was not really that many…

Thinking deeper about it, was he not really poor for someone at his cultivation realm?

Whoosh

Disappearing from the hall of the pavilion that they were talking in, Xuan Hao soon returned back with a small bag of spirit stones and threw them to elder Wang.

”Here, you can leave now.” Not wanting to deal with the fact that he was too poor to give any good crafting material that elder Wang was most likely after, Xuan Hao threw him a bag with 10 low-quality spirit stones and shooed him away.

”…” Looking at the pitiful amount of low-quality spirit stones inside the bag, elder Wang did not know whether to laugh or cry.

At least just be a little arrogant and use your Core Elder status to send me away with nothing! Why the need to humiliate me with a measly 10 low-quality spirit stones? I heard that the Demon Beasts eat more for breakfast over at the Stables!

Youʼre a Nascent Soul expert a few Spirit Grade craft materials should not be worth much for you…!

After finding out that Chu Yang was a disciple of a Core Elder, he wanted to make use of the fact that he had caused him trouble to get himself a few good crafting materials for free and not beat him up too much, but things did not go as planned and he could only swallow his disappointment as he turned to leave.

”So… Do you mind telling me why you entered someone elseʼs living quarters…?” As elder Wang left the pavilion in disappointment, Xuan Hao turned around and asked Chu Yang, who was staring around the room with a dazed expression since he had woken up.

”I-I, ah…” At this moment, he had still not fully comprehended what happened in the last moment before he got knocked out and was captured by elder Wang.

All he could recall from his last few moments was him entering yet another house, without permission of course and then a beautiful jade like hand had appeared in front of him and knocked him out.

Trying his best to remember, he seems to have entered a… Bathing house…?

”So…?” Seeing all kinds of emotions flash across Chu Yangʼs face, Xuan Hao decided to ask again, lest he ends up spending the rest of the day staring out into empty air.

”M-master, I-I just went to try and look for s-senior sister Qing Yi at the Alchemy Hall, so she could help guide me to the place where I would get registered…” Realizing his own situation, Chu Yang quickly returned from whatever dream he was having and answered truthfully.

”Then… How did you happen to enter elder Wang and his granddaughters living quarters…?” Raising an eyebrow in doubt, Xuan Hao asked as he wanted to confirm whether his new disciple really had such a bad sense of direction! It might have been way worse than he had thought at first…

”I-I got lost…” Feeling a little embarrassed, Chu Yang looked a bit to the side as he told the reason for him accidently entering other peopleʼs houses.

”I see… Go and find Qing Yi, she has already returned from the Alchemy Hall by now. Have her guide you to get registered.” Not wanting to think about the issue of his new disciple Xuan Hao send him away and returned to his room to quietly think.

The reason why he needed to return to his room and think was…

[Side Quest: Help disciple Chu Yang improve his sense of direction, at least enough for him to not get lost in his masterʼs pavilion…]

[Hint: Herbs or cultivation techniques that can improve soul purity will help]

[Reward: ???]

He had gotten a new side quest and this one seemed way more troublesome than all the quests he had ever gotten before, even the main quests difficulty was nowhere near this one…

The system even felt a need to give him a hint…

But improving the purity of oneʼs soul… Even the worst herb that could do that would be considered a rare herb at the soul grade…

Even Domain Lord experts found something that could improve soul purity extremely useful as it could improve their comprehension speed and allow them to have an easier time comprehending their domain…
