Chapter 1426: Chapter 517: Eat on Time 4

Worth mentioning, during lunch, Tang Song specifically mentioned the layout of entertainment and media to Secretary Jin, and by the way, asked her to help investigate someone—Su Yu.

...

April 5, 2017, 7:00 AM.

On the paths of Anzhu Park in Shanghai, Tang Song walked at an unhurried pace, weaving through the forest where a thin mist had yet to dissipate.

Birdsong drifted to his ears, mixed with a faint yet deep guitar melody.

He stopped in his tracks, quietly standing under the shade of a tree watching her.

On a bench ten steps away, Su Yu wore a black baseball cap and sunglasses interlaced with black and white, wrapping herself up tightly.

She looked down, playing a wooden guitar, the melody slow and mournful.

The morning sunlight filtered through the leaves onto her, outlining her perfect figure.

Tang Song plucked a bud from a nearby cherry tree, walked softly up to her, sat beside her, and handed the cherry blossom to her hand.

Though the bud was tightly closed, a faint sweet fragrance could already be smelled.

”For you.” His voice was gentle and calm, like a tranquil lake.

The guitar music came to an abrupt stop.

”Who are you?” She looked up, her tone filled with guardedness, her voice pleasant but notably dry.

”The knight from your dreams here to save you.” Tang Song smiled slightly, ”Miss Su Yu, sometimes, an end is also a new beginning.”

Separated by her sunglasses, he couldn’t see her eyes, yet he could sense the astonishment and doubt contained within.

Tang Song placed the cherry blossom on her straight and slender legs and took the guitar from her hands.

Skillfully strumming the strings a few times, he then began to play.

The melody was light and warm, pleasant and enchanting.

Su Yu focused on him, her gaze shifting from initial confusion to a kind of indescribable brightness.

”Is this... your own composition?” She couldn’t help but ask, her voice much softer than before, her fingers unconsciously stroking the cherry blossom.

Tang Song nodded, ”Sort of, just playing freely, do you like it?”

”I like it.” She nodded, adding: ”I really like it.”

It seemed familiar, but she couldn’t recall where she had heard it.

Perhaps... in a dream?

Looking at the clean and fresh young man in front of her, a wave of warm dependence surged within her.

Immediately, Tang Song played another beautiful melody.

This time, he was more relaxed, leaning against the back of the bench, his fingers nimbly plucking, tapping, and striking the guitar, as if chatting with an old friend.

Making this spring morning more vivid.

Su Yu was silent for a moment, then suddenly said, ”Thank you.”

”Thank me for what?”

”Thank you for bringing me such beautiful music and giving me this cherry blossom.” She looked down at the flower in her hand, her voice barely audible, ”Whether you mean it or not, whether it’s kind or malicious, at least in this moment, I feel joy that I’ve long missed.”

Tang Song turned his head, quietly looking at her.

Neither of them spoke, merely gazing at one another.

After a long while, the sun gradually rose, piercing light streaming through the treetops.

Tang Song stood up in front of her, shielding her from the direct sunlight.

”I am Tang Song, from the Tang and Song Dynasties.” He smiled slightly, his voice low yet powerful, ”Fate likes to play tricks on people, but true strength lies in rebuilding your kingdom from ruins. Miss Su Yu, if you are willing, I would like to be a ladder for you to reach the summit, assisting you from the abyss to the stars, until you can place the crown back on your head.”

Su Yu stared at him blankly, incredulous to find herself genuinely drawn to him, trusting him, reliant on him.

As if he really was the knight who came charging out of her nightmares to protect her.

Mysterious, powerful, omnipotent.

She stood up, pursed her dry lips, ”What should I do now.”

”Come with me!”

Tang Song held the guitar in one hand, the other pulling her cold hand.

Leading her through the increasingly lively park, turning into an alley with a breakfast shop steaming with warmth.

”Breakfast, half of life, starting today, you must eat on time.”
