The lights in the living room were turned on.

Gao Mengting yawned and plopped down on the couch, leaning back and half-reclining.

After a moment, Cheng Qiuyu came over with a plate of fruit, her voice somewhat hoarse, “Senior, have some food.”

After leaving the Olympic Sports Center, they took a bus to West Bridge and then a taxi to the community; it was almost 1 a.m. by then.

Both were tired and hungry.

“Thanks, Qiuqiu.” Gao Mengting sat up and began munching on a slice of watermelon.

The cold juice slid down from her mouth to her throat, refreshing her instantly.

“I should be the one thanking you, Senior. Tonight might have been the happiest day of my life; the concert ticket you gave me means so much to me.”

“Alright, no need to be so formal; you’ve thanked me plenty of times already.”

After filling their stomachs, they felt much more comfortable.

Gao Mengting looked at Cheng Qiuyu who was excitedly typing on her phone and shook her head with a smile, “Young people have such good stamina.”

During the three-hour concert, Qiuyu barely stopped cheering and crying.

It was surprising to see her still so full of energy now.

“Hehe, I’m just too excited tonight, I feel like I’m bursting with energy.” Cheng Qiuyu smiled cheekily, “Senior, go take a shower first. I don’t have to work tomorrow, while you need to get some rest.”

Their emotions ran high at the concert, and it being the middle of summer, they were both sweaty.

They certainly couldn’t get to sleep without showering first.

“Actually, we could shower together. I wouldn’t mind,” Gao Mengting said with a teasing glance.

As the days passed by, she found her junior quite contradictory.

Cheng Qiuyu was actually quite well-known at Yan City University. When she first enrolled, many people cheered her on as the department or school beauty, and she had no shortage of admirers.

But her personality was too cold, always keeping people at arm’s length, and gradually her suitors retreated.

She was like “Naoko” from “Norwegian Wood,” lonely, cold, and emotionally closed off.

Even to her, Qiuyu rarely opened up.

Yet when it came to Su Yu, she was passionately enthusiastic, capable of chatting happily even with strangers.

It was as if she became “Midori” from “Norwegian Wood,” vibrant, extroverted, and straightforward.

Gao Mengting felt that her junior must have been hurt in the past to become this contradictory.

As both a senior and a roommate, she thought it her duty to guide her, often joking with her.

She hoped that Qiuyu, like “Naoko,” would meet a “Watanabe” that could stir a physical reaction in her—otherwise, it would be a real pity.

Hearing her senior’s words, Cheng Qiuyu stole a glance at her and quickly shook her head, “No… I’m not used to showering with others.”

Although she had no physical reaction to men, she had no same-sex inclination either.

She shared the apartment with her senior because she was known for her kindness and gentleness and was a standard literary young woman, which made them compatible roommates.

She harbored no such thoughts.

Gao Mengting blinked and asked, “What if Su Yu wanted to shower with you?”

Qiuyu paused, a hint of embarrassment on her face, “Well, if it were Su Yu, I guess that wouldn’t be a problem.”

Who doesn’t like beautiful things?

To her, Su Yu’s figure and appearance were like a perfect work of art, utterly irresistible.

Gao Mengting teased her for a while, then they started chatting about Su Yu.

Cheng Qiuyu’s eyes lit up instantly.

“The whole internet is blowing up now, the top 10 trending topics on Weibo and Douyin are all about Su Yu, it’s insane.”

“Especially the three and a half hour concert, the divine-level live of the new song, and Su Yu’s makeup… many media outlets and fans are speculating why Su Yu has departed from her usual style…”

“As a ten-year fan of Su Yu, I feel like we saw the complete version of her tonight. She was like a bright moon in the sky, outshining all stars. Although I don’t know why, I’m genuinely happy for her from the bottom of my heart.”

…

Cheng Qiuyu excitedly shared many thoughts about Su Yu, but noticing Gao Mengting yawning nonstop, she hurriedly spoke, “Senior, go and wash up. I’ll go organize my thoughts in the bedroom and post some stuff online.”

“Alright, then goodnight.”

“Goodnight Senior, sweet dreams!”

Gao Mengting stood up, stripped in the bedroom, wrapped herself in a towel, and went into the bathroom.

She quickly showered, brushed her teeth, and didn’t bother with skincare.

Turning on the fan, Gao Mengting collapsed onto the bed.

Accustomed to sleeping naked, she didn’t put on pajamas and sprawled naked on the cool summer blanket, soon falling into a deep sleep.

In a half-dreaming state, a piercing scream suddenly rang out.

It was Qiuqiu!

Gao Mengting woke up instantly, thinking something terrible had happened.

She jumped out of bed barefoot, flung open the bedroom door, and charged out.

Right at that moment, she collided face-to-face with Cheng Qiuyu, who was coming out of the bathroom.

“Bam!” Their bare bodies hit each other.

Gao Mengting distinctly felt two soft bumps against her.

“What happened, Qiuqiu? What’s wrong!?” she asked anxiously, not concerned about anything else.

Cheng Qiuyu’s eyes were wide with shock, and she pointed at her phone, tongue-tied.

Her face flushed red, tears swirling in her eyes, she was unable to speak.

She could only scream out inarticulately.

“Don’t be afraid, don’t be scared, your senior is here!” Gao Mengting’s brow twitched, thinking someone in her family might have had an accident, and promptly moved to embrace her.
