Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4373: Ghostly Crow Lower Realm - Conquered

*Bzzz!~*

Yilla had her hand on the Ghostly Crow Realm Core, currently bound with it after Realm Master Yughen abdicated his connection with it.

Instantly, her prowess rose by four levels higher than seven levels. Together, she was able to barely battle a Level Four Empyrean. Still, it was nowhere near enough to compare with her big sisters. Regardless, Yilla didnʼt feel a single ounce of worry, knowing she had just started.

She had stagnated in the Immortal Stage for a long time because she didnʼt have access to resources but in two short years, she had become so powerful enough not to recognize her previous self. This was after she focused the resources given to her on Darkshade so that she would have a powerful spirit to comprehend Darkness Laws from.

Together with the insights she had learned from Darkshade and the comprehension pouring from the Realm Core like it was a waterfall, she instantly began to make improvements in her comprehension of Darkness Laws, comprehending to the peak of Level Six Quiddity, which was the limit for the Immortal Emperor Stage.

Any more, and she would probably receive punishment from the heavens. However, she had no way to brute force it, unlike Davis and a few others.

”Good~”

Mingzhi nodded at this sight and turned to look at Realm Master Yughen, who was no longer a Realm Master.

”You are now officially under our banner. If you meet with anyone troubling you or trying to end you, then you have our forces to call. I will be here until Yilla breaks through. The Divine Emperor of Deathʼs sworn brothers will also be here, but they may move freely. Legion Captain Starlily will be stationed here for the most part, along with her third division. Sheʼs just as, if not more powerful than the current you. Any questions?”

”…”

Yughen could only dryly chuckle.

He had lost the prowess he gained from the Realm Core. It was short-lived but worth it as he felt revived.

He took a deep breath, ”No questions. However, I do have a request. Please let my wives stay in the Whispering Wildlands Peninsula.”

”Thatʼs fine.” Mingzhi shrugged, ”As long as you people donʼt cause trouble, even you can stay. Iʼm sure Esmond Stavenger, a former Realm Master, would also like your company. You two can wallow in self-deprecation together.”

”…”

Yughen couldnʼt refute that since they were in the same circumstances. Only the two of them would be able to understand each other.

After Yilla bound the Realm Core and invoked a phenomenon, everyone came to know that the Ghostly Crow Lower Realm had a new owner, the Divine Emperor of Death.

Countless intelligence networks began to mark it as his new territory, including the script that it was his last conquest from his promise with Heavenʼs Warriors. In the same way, the panic was also less. It was significantly less than the last time, especially since there was nearly no bloodshed other than one stupid crow vainly pulling a sacrificial move.

In some peopleʼs opinion, it was a stupid move that implicated his clan, but for some other people, it was a great show of courage, and they used this opportunity to hammer down the Heavenʼs Warriors, who seemed cowardly in comparison. Their reputation took a hit, mainly Venerable Knight Lussandra, who facilitated two agreements with the Divine Emperor of Death.

Making agreements with an Anarchic Divergent? That stupid crow was way better!

Regardless, there were not many movements in the human galaxy. If there was one, then it was that more and more supreme geniuses descended to make their way into the secret realm in the Eternal Twilight Lower Realm. After all, it was extremely resource-rich and even had Primarch Grade resources only obtainable by Immortal Emperors and Sovereigns.

It was a chance that they needed to capitalize on.

Nonetheless, while the world underwent its slight changes, the person who was the reason for these changes was not quite so busy.

==========

Davisʼs fingers gently rested against Yotanʼs temple, his expression calm but focused as a strand of his soul force entered her soul sea. His iridescent energy shimmered like threads of black-white stardust as it traversed, searching for the remnant of the sacrificial curse.

He quickly reached her soul essence as though he knew where it was.

In it, a black-white rune, etched like a star with jagged lines, pulsed strangely. The curse exuded a sacred yet terrifying pressure, confusing Davis. It was not like the curses he encountered. He wondered if this could even be called a curse with how different its aura felt.

Still, it coiled around a portion of her soul, not actively harming her but clearly altering the future of her cultivation path, although he knew it would be of no concern.

Davis closed his eyes.

His soul force surged from his index finger.

*Zzzrrm!*

The iridescent threads of his soul coalesced into a radiant seal-like formation above Yotanʼs head, forming a black-white wheel inside her. It flickered and spun, absorbing the curse from the soul essence and eradicating it without encountering much difficulty- no.

Suddenly, the curse reacted violently.

The black-white mark shrieked in her soul sea, tendrils lashing out toward the wheel.

Davis sensed a strong remnant Will from the curse. He presumed it was that Heavenly Ghost Crow.

He nearly got the idea to revive him and torture him but decided to let go. To sacrifice his own life, it could be said he paid with it already.

Davisʼs brow twitched as he decided to let him go, but he didnʼt falter as he decided to collect interest from his clansmen. With a surge of his reincarnation energy and creating a basic yet sold spirit seal using spirit formation, the curseʼs rage was immediately suppressed.

The seal formed by his iridescent soul force landed gently on the curse. To ensure not the slightest bit of curse escaped once again, Davisʼs seal engulfed the curse, binding it in a serene sphere of containment.

Then- he squeezed his hand ever so slightly.

*Crack!*

The black-white curse shattered with a high-pitched hum, fragments dissolving into nothing.

”Ahh…!”

Yotan gasped, her body trembling as a surge of pain flashed through her, only for it to be immediately soothed by Davisʼs life energy. A soothing warmth flooded her soul sea, weaving and patching up the torn segments with intense care.

Her breath quickened, bosoms rising and falling, before her body slumped slightly into Davisʼs arms, exhausted but visibly relieved. She didnʼt think it would only take him three minutes to clear a curse at the level of the layer limit.

Of course, it was weakened but still, its remnant Will wouldnʼt be any easier to clear. However, Davis got rid of it so easily, making her feel prideful in his stead.

”…”

Davis held Yotan in his arms. He hid his smile, taking advantage of this moment to hug her all he wanted. Within a few seconds, Yotan straightened herself and took a step back, bowing.

”Many thanks, Legion Master.”

”Hmm.”

Davis nodded. He turned around and looked into the distance. The vast space was incredibly beautiful, countless specks of dust that were stars shining throughout the third layer.

”What are you waiting for? You can leave.”

”…”

Yotan trembled ever so lightly.

She raised her head and looked at his back with eyes that held back an immense amount of gratitude and debt. She couldnʼt even speak, even though she wanted to, but the sense of responsibility in her and the debt she owed him weighed like a mountain range upon her.

Her eyes quickly turned moist, and she felt scared.

She knew Davis would be scared shitless when his wives were harmed, yet he didnʼt show the same reaction to her. Of course, he looked worried but it wasnʼt as as she expected.

Moreover, she knew Davis would take the time to flirt with her, but he didnʼt bother to do so.

All these minor things that she wanted to avoid now so that she could earn achievements and prove herself to him suddenly felt so distant. She felt like she could never obtain his attention again as she recalled Yillaʼs words.

[After all, which man would continue wanting a disobedient woman?] Yillaʼs complacent voice resounded in her head like a spell.

”No…”

She let out a despondent voice, causing Davis to blink.

He was about to turn when suddenly he felt two hands hug him from behind, causing his eyes to go wide, especially when he felt those pair of sumptuous bosoms of hers press against him rather firmly, making him understand that she was holding him fiercely.

”Yotan…?”

Davis voiced out, not understanding what was going on.

Did Yotan finally have a taste of death and finally understand whatʼs important? He didnʼt know. She didnʼt look like she was scared. He didnʼt check her emotions, but he did see her soul, and it didnʼt pulsate in a wavelength that would equate to fear.

He had urged her to leave, knowing she wouldnʼt want to be here but there in order to help the Davis Family and gain more achievements. He thought she would be stubborn, but most importantly, he had a meeting with Venerable Knight Lussandra, so he didnʼt bother to tease her.

He imagined he would only be disappointed if he were to make a move and get delayed again. He figured it was better to talk romance when it wasnʼt wartime. Otherwise, he imagined that he might jeopardize the relationship in haste.

However, little did he know that Yotan became fearful of losing him, finally taking a step forward.

”Please donʼt hate me… donʼt leave me… I will listen to you…” Her voice softly echoed.

”...!?”
