Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4228  Mingzhiʼs Child

It was nighttime.

Davis was together with Mingzhi as she underwent labor in her chamber while Fiora and Natalya were helping her.

”Donʼt worry. It only a bit of pain. Nothing you canʼt endure.”

”You- rogue!”

He held her hand and simply smiled, making Mingzhi scream at him. Nonetheless, she also smiled at him before the contractions began, and she easily gave birth in a few tries without feeling much pain.

Immortals rarely experienced pain while undergoing childbirth unless there were some previous complications.

”Wei!~~”

Fiora held the crying baby in her hands as she couldnʼt help but smile enthusiastically. Natalya quickly wiped the baby with incomparable precision before the two of them gave the baby to Mingzhi.

”Itʼs a son.” Fiora grinned, feeling joyful as she thought that Arc would have a playmate soon.

”My baby~”

Mingzhi received her child, but she was quite stunned when she looked at her son.

Davis was surprised to see that Mingzhi birthed a son. Obviously, Mingzhi knew she was pregnant with a son since she could use her soul sense to check easily. She had kept it a secret from others except a few who had to look after her health. Nonetheless, he was also a bit taken aback as he saw silver hair on top of the fifth sonʼs head.

His eyes were black like Mingzhiʼs, and his face resembled Davisʼs. They could tell because they had seen Arc. However, the babyʼs hair… was silver in color.

”Oh, my~” Natalya also reacted, ”It seems like this prodigy is born with a physique.”

”This is…”

Davis rubbed his chin as he felt like he knew this physique.

”Itʼs the Light Eclipse Physique…” Mingzhi finally reacted as she blurted out.

”Thatʼs right. The silver hair is one of the unique traits of those who possess the Light Eclipse Physique.”

Davis used his soul sense to probe the baby and find many other factors that constituted the Light Eclipse Physique. The Spirit Root was silver in color and gave off a dormant aura. It was different than an ordinary Spirit Root.

However, both Davis and Mingzhi were speechless. They looked at each other while seeing the disbelief in their eyes.

The Light Eclipse Physique wasnʼt purely a light-attributed physique.

It was a light-attributed physique that was yang-attributed. Because of this mix-up, it needed another physique to be cultivated properly and that was the Darkness Eclipse Physique.

In other words, this was a dual cultivation physique!

”Interesting~” Natalya giggled.

She cast a look at the fifth son and could only imagine what kind of cultivator he would become.

”Interesting?” Davis turned to look at Natalya, ”He is Mingzhiʼs child. I can only imagine what kind of tyrant he would become.”

”Hehehe~” Mingzhi couldnʼt help but laugh delightedly.

She brought her baby closer and kissed him, calming him down slowly.

”My baby…” Mingzhi whispered softly as she brushed her lips against his cheek, ”From here on, you will be known as Tianyu Davis.”

”It sounds good, right?”

She turned to look at Davis, her teary gaze hoping to meet his approval.

”Tianyu… Heavenly Dominion.” Davis nodded, ”A godly and authoritative name. It fits the image of what I imagined our son would be like in the future.”

”Hehe~” Mingzhi giggled with pride. She named her son by affixing Davisʼs previous lifeʼs name, ”He would be like that, but you canʼt expect him to become like that. He will live freely as he pleases~”

”Of course. The children should live happier lives. I donʼt have much expectations from them.”

”No, you should expect!”

”…”

Davis was starting to wonder which one they wanted.

Sometimes, expectations would bring forth potential in progenies, and other times, the progenies would simply feel that it is nothing but a burden and only end up hammering them down by the weight of the burden.

Davis obviously didnʼt want to burden his children. He felt that it was fine if they grew at their own pace.

He spent a bit of time with Mingzhi while everyone came to see her, and even Lea came. They all made fun of Mingzhiʼs son, thinking that he would be a womanizer like Davis in the future.

”Mmph! Davis had Ellia as his maid. I will also get a maid for my son, and she will have the Darkness Eclipse Physique~” Mingzhi declared.

”This way, my dear Yuʼer doesnʼt need to waste time searching for his cultivation partner. His cultivation wonʼt be restricted.”

”Hahaha!” Everyone laughed, including Davis.

However, he suddenly asked, ”Are you serious?”

”Yes, I am. It is not exactly rare for dual cultivators to search for a suitable partner and get married way early.” Mingzhi made a firm expression, making Davis gawk.

It was true that even dual cultivation sects had children from five years old pair up and train together. Even without dual cultivation, it would instill a sense of closeness between the pair, but how many can obtain perfect partners for their physiques at such a young age? They might not even be born or be anywhere in their region.

Therefore, that method was not used for the masses and was only relegated to special individuals.

”Wait, you canʼt.” Davis shook his head, ”We donʼt have such a policy or tradition anymore. It ended with the Loret Family.”

”Well, Iʼm bringing it back. I make the laws, and you only need to approve them.” Mingzhi remained stubborn.

”Are you crazy?” Davis blinked, ”Then everyone will start demanding maids for their talented children. It will low-key bring slavery here since there would be a market for it. I know this is a ruthless world where fists reign supreme, but at least children shouldnʼt be slaves.”

”Who said Iʼm going to take a slave? This is a special exception. She will have a special status, and I will treat her the best. She wouldnʼt be like a maid but a child who is nurtured here along with the others. Iʼll also invite the girlʼs parents to live with us here and shower them with riches so that they can grow in cultivation too. Iʼll take personal responsibility to make sure Yuʼer doesnʼt mistreat her.”

”Well… thatʼs good, but do you think theyʼll say yes and come live with an Anarchic Divergentʼs Family?”

”…” Mingzhi clenched her teeth, seemingly running out of excuses.

”I donʼt know! As his father, you do something about it! My child wonʼt be able to reach the Immortal Stage if he doesnʼt find a suitable partner with Darkness Light Physique. What better way is there other than to bring a girl here and instill her with our values so that she wonʼt betray him and break his heart!?”

Mingzhi yelled out and looked as though she was going to cry, causing the baby to wake up and cry. She hurriedly comforted him while leaving the others speechless.

”Alright, alright.” Davis considered for a moment before he comforted Mingzhi, whose emotions ran high.

”Iʼll do something about it. Leave it to me.”

”Mhm, Iʼll leave it to you. He really needs a partner, or he would be lost.”

Mingzhi raised her hand and clasped Davisʼs hand. She finally smiled upon sensing that he was not kidding.

”Well, I was a bit hasty. We could consider it later.”

Mingzhi dryly laughed and apologized to everyone for her burst, but they brushed it off, saying it was a valid concern.

However, they made fun of her, saying when it comes to her son, Mingzhi is beyond crazy.

They spent some more time chatting before Mingzhi finally dozed off with the child. Fiora and Natalya stayed to look after her, and just while everyone was about to leave in the early morning, Lea was going to deliver.

Davis and the others ran to her place since she had already gone back earlier.
