Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3176 Subduing Hexadra Clanʼs Kingly Monarch

”…”

Lea, Sophie, Bylai, Tina, Dalila, and the others were all trembling from head to toe in sheer fury as they saw Davis flung the Hexadra Clanʼs disciple around, wanting to slice him into many pieces but as soon as he stopped and silence reigned in the third floorʼs chamber, it hit them.

Their aspirations lay ahead in the true immortal world, but they never thought about what it was like.

The First Haven World was filled with peace. Even though battles, altercations, and wars took place, it never dwelled in a place where such lowlife actions would be taken without unprecedented vendetta between two parties. Even all the races know to communicate their difference and let each other know their taboos, not to be infringed. But here, it was just the opposite.

Three brothers from an Upper Realm violated and ate a Celestial Fairy with no vendetta between them or even prior meeting and, when they were finally cornered, offered up her half-eaten corpse as appeasement.

They couldnʼt comprehend in which realm this kind of ethics was practiced. Was this particularly some rule in the Six-Headed Hydra Upper Realm?

”Itʼs like Iʼve returned to the wild…”

Nadia uttered, but there was a hint of anger even in her voice.

Instantly, it reminded them all of how beasts would offer up half-eaten corpses to a superior beast as an act of submission. However, they hadnʼt even seen, much less heard of such actions from magical beasts in their Grand Beginnings Continent or the First Haven World, leaving them thoroughly stumped as to the viciousness of the true immortal world.

They couldnʼt imagine the scale of this viciousness if this was happening in a monitored location like the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm, making them imagine all sorts of terrifying notions that they would hear as their bedtime stories to motivate them to cultivate the next day.

Somehow, they wondered if ascending to the true immortal world was the right choice for them anymore, as the First Haven World now appeared like a paradise to them despite the woes present there.

Davis threw the vile being, whom he wasnʼt interested in even knowing the name of, into his life ring after sealing his cultivation base and even further strengthening the constriction with the Obscure Ghastly Bind Slave Seal that was improvised to the soul aspects of the Immortal King although he didnʼt know how effective it would be on a Transcendents.

He dusted off his hands with disgust, wiping away the blood as his soul force flooded him and wiped him clean before he headed towards his women with a somber look on his face.

Myria was already there when suddenly Tina moved towards her and clasped her hands.

”Teacher, donʼt tell me you also… faced this kind of…”

”…”

Myria was suddenly taken aback by this situation where everyone looked concerned for her, causing her to not know what to say other than inwardly fuming at Davis for revealing her situation to every one of his women like he could not keep secrets.

But somehow, it induced warmth within her heart, causing her to want to reciprocate truthfully.

”Humans, spirits, feys, magical beasts, or any other race for that matter. No matter who it may be, my options were to either get impregnated or eaten, as they all wanted my powers badly. It is not only the Six-Headed Hydra Clan, but the vast majority of the Celestial Transcendent Galaxy is lawless.”

”Utmost, you can find a semblance of righteous laws in civilized places and some order in cities, but outside, it is cruel and vindictive. Even in the outskirts of almost every city, bandits would lie await, and if you ask me what most people are like in this universe, I would say that it is bandits, so much so that it is common to assume whatever person you see on any pathway is a bandit, a vile slaughterer who is after your wealth and health.”

Tina firmly held Myriaʼs hands as her eyes teared up, unable to imagine what she had to go through in order for a bright Saintess to become so ruthless. Moreover, the state of the true immortal world didnʼt sit well with her.

”Why…? Why is it like that? Doesnʼt this Galaxy have a character like Saintess Lunaria…?”

”There is… but letʼs just say due to extraordinary powers gained through a pact, such a being is unable to interfere in the natural course of the world…”

Myria shook her head, causing Tina and the others to have a difficult expression on their faces.

ʼEven the Celestial Transcendent has his hands tied, huh…ʼ

Davis thought as he arrived beside Myria and panned his gaze across his women before stopping on Lea.

”We may meet much more cruel chapters later on in our life, but donʼt give up hope as I would never let this happen to you, not until my body is flattened and my soul extinguished.”

”We know~”

Lea was quick to respond with a light smile before the others nodded their heads as they echoed, appearing to have come out of this depressing reverie. Although they had smiles on their faces, Davis could see that this tragedy still affected them.

He glanced at Myria, wondering if she was affected, but she looked as indifferent as ever, as though she had seen this a thousand times, becoming desensitized.

”Myria, I-”

”Did you see some sort of illusion after killing those two?”

Suddenly, Myria turned to look at him.

”Oh, yes. I did. Whatʼs that? Immortal soul sense? Or is it called something else?”

Hearing him confirm, Myria nodded her head as she verified that it wasnʼt her imagination as it disappeared quickly as it manifested.

”Well, itʼs an Empyrean sense, but it got suppressed even before it could fully form.”

”So, I am not marked?”

”Hard to say. Such a powerful beingʼs soul mark cannot be easily found, but your soul is intrinsically different. If even you canʼt find it, then he mustʼve really been suppressed before he could fully form. Either the realmʼs formation is that powerful or…”

ʼThe world master again…?ʼ

Davis narrowed his eyes, wondering if such a person liked to interfere in so many things, then they should really help him save the Apocalyptic Flame Essence.

”In any case, letʼs go.”

Davis gestured, bringing his people towards the killing formation. However, their path was quickly cut off by Ralaza Heavenshade, causing him to narrow his brows as he wondered if she hadnʼt learned her lesson.

”You donʼt want her?”

”…?”

Davis turned confused before he realized, shaking his head.

”I donʼt get it. Why would you take revenge for her then?” Ralaza Heavenshade narrowed her eyes in scrutiny.

”Iʼm indifferent enough on bad days and magnanimous enough on good days. Do I really need a reason to punish evil?”

”To us, you are evil.”

”Fair enough. Feel free to take me down, but the consequences are as you saw before.”

Davis gestured as he waved his hand, making Ralaza Heavenshade bite her lips, ”You are strange. Iʼll let you go this time.”

”Many thanks.”

Davis cupped his hands with a bright smile as though he was truly grateful. Naturally, Ralaza Heavenshade became unamused by his exaggeration as she knew he was teasing her, but she lightly shook her head.

”Are you really sure you donʼt want her back?”

”If you donʼt want to perform the burial, then you can give her to Fairy Aila Cherryweave.”

”Iʼll take her.”

Fairy Aila Cherryweave quickly responded and cast a grateful glance at Davis. After discreetly receiving Fairy Selene Lunarisʼs corpse in a veiled corner, she shook her head at Ralaza Heavenshade and returned to Davis, causing him to blink.

”Are you not going with her?”

Fairy Aila Cherryweave shook her head meekly as she lowered her head.

”Are you serious?”

Davis turned confused.

Teaming with an Anarchic Divergent or teaming with young heavenly geniuses from the Azure Dragon Upper Realm? The answer seemed obvious: what they should choose for oneʼs future, especially if one considered the risk factor of karmic burden. Besides, Ralaza Heavenshade even proved herself to be on the righteous side even though she was arrogant for her age, but that just goes to show how much influence she held in her clan.

For Fairy Aila Cherryweave, making it out of this realm with Ralaza Heavenshade would allow her cultivation to grow leaps and bounds, and even if she didnʼt, the connections she wouldʼve formed will support her when she ascends in the future.

For her to choose him was foolish beyond compare.

”I- I considered everything.” Fairy Aila Cherryweave raised her head, appearing determined, ”The Azure Dragon Upper Realm is super powerful, but the reason why I didnʼt want to initially go with you was because I didnʼt want to trouble you or my family but if my fate is going to be like Seleneʼs… Iʼd rather stick with the strongest man whom I know will take revenge for me even if I die… a man whom I held affection for in my life…”

”…”

Davis turned speechless. Was this a confession? If that was the case, then this was the second time she confessed, but this was after she wholeheartedly knew that he was an Anarchic Divergent and nothing good could come out of following him.

He wanted to laugh, but the gaze she held, full of seriousness, didnʼt leave any leeway for him to dismiss her emotions.
