Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 1780: So This Is How...

Davis took a step forward and flew into the skies, following them.

The wicked path hegemons who had come to see the chaos did catch their figures, but they didnʼt go as far as to risk their lives to start a conversation with them.

Davis looked at them and wondered if they would intentionally spread the information about him to the immortal world, which he felt was a given. But to silence them, he couldnʼt go asking or forcing them all to swear an oath or die as that would make him a tyrant than someone trying to protect himself.

ʼHeck, even some righteous path hypocrites or pure strangers would leak my ability to the immortal world. Who knows? One of them mightʼve already ascended and started to spread information about me already...ʼ

There were many secluded places, like the Poison Rift Valleyʼs many rifts and the sealed lightning space in the Hundred Devil Thunder Archipelago. Even mini-realms that were occupied like the Forsaken Phoenix Realm could be considered secluded locations, still being able to ascend from there.

He knew that it was possible for secluded peak powerhouses to secretly ascend and begin plotting against him or go about their own way, but the former could be advantageous for them, considering that they might earn status and wealth for warning them off a future danger or even a future genius that they could nurture.

Thatʼs how powers worked, so he was already cautious enough to make Heaven Gazing Emperor and Mandate Emperor swear to not reveal about Clara and Tia until he said so, but the fact that his ability was already out in the open made him a clear target to be aware of, although it did help him walk freely in this place and struck fear into the hearts of his enemies.

ʼIf killing those wicked path fools gave me a chance to remain unknown, I wouldʼve most likely done it, but it seems like I can only take this disadvantage to the face and not fall before it, huh?ʼ

Davis decided that it was useless to kill them and let them go.

Of course, he already made an example out of four wicked path hegemons today, so he wanted to see who would dare to plot against him.

Suddenly, he caught sight of the Fiendish Yin Empress looking at him with charming eyes as they matched gazes, her sleeveless and scantily wore clothes becoming looser as her voluptuous body became more visible as she blatantly tried to seduce him with the Yang Hellflame Emperor by her side.

ʼUh-uh, thatʼs a no-go...ʼ

Davis instantly moved his gaze away, learning that there was already one wicked path hegemon who wanted to ride on his ʼcoattailsʼ instead of going against him, reminding him that there were also opportunists or pure pleasure seekers like her.

”Iʼve been wanting to ask this, so you love Davis, right?”

Suddenly, he heard Isabellaʼs voice after that short awkward pause after they flew away that his ears couldnʼt help but perk up.

Knowing that Davis was listening, Lea Weiss seemed unperturbed as she answered.

”Yes.”

Isabella and Evelynn smiled as they could see a crimson hue emerge on her face and even take over her neck and ear. Although her voice seemed unperturbed, it seemed like her pounding heart was truthful to her words.

”Why? Is there a reason?” Isabella asked before she shrugged, ”Itʼs fine if you donʼt have one because mine is a bit unnatural and selfish, stemming from jealousy...”

”… I see.”

Lea Weiss didnʼt know what to say to her words.

Another woman talking to her this close was utterly foreign to her, but she knew this would be her life from now on and forcefully answered.

”I am not aware when, but after he took revenge on my behalf and initiated a few good deals for the Burning Phoenix Ridge, I gradually felt… a bit close and wondered if it would work out if I can be together with him despite his dubious background and from then on, it went downhill, to say the least...”

”Ahahaha!~ I can understand!”

Isabella couldnʼt help but grab her belly as she broke into a fit of laughter while Lea Weiss also smiled along with Isabella, finding her peal of laughter to be music to her ears even though she still felt embarrassed.

”Back then, I didnʼt think he had such a relationship with Shirley and merely mistook him for a person who could be her uncle and slightly younger than me as he was unheard of despite using Death Laws to that degree… so...”

”Ah, donʼt worry.” Isabella smirked as she interrupted, ”Age doesnʼt matter to us cultivators, as you may already know. Your character and longevity matter more, and even while talking, I can see that youʼre a woman of integrity.”

Lea Weiss felt flattered and accepted by Isabellaʼs words. However, she raised her neck to look at the quiet Hex Demoness towards the right end while she was at the left end.

”Why donʼt you say something?”

”Isabella already speaks for me.”

Evelynn calmly smiled as her melodious voice echoed, causing Lea Weiss to feel confused.

”Are you just a figurehead then?”

Judging by how Isabella spoke and Davis asked for her permission, it was like Isabella was the first wife.

”You jest.”

Isabella couldnʼt help but suddenly giggle as if she had heard something funny.

”If Evelynn speaks out strongly, itʼs almost the final say we could have.”

Lea Weiss became shocked as her eyes widened as she stared at Evelynn.

She possessed Davisʼs favor to that extent!?

Then, she quickly became confused again as she returned her gaze to Isabella.

”Didnʼt you say that weʼre all the same?”

”He says that but ends up giving Evelynn preferential treatment most of the time because sheʼs his first. Thatʼs how it is, and we all know it, so try not to become jealous.”

”Who would…?”

Isabella shrugged and teased Lea Weiss, causing her to blush as she looked at Evelynnʼs calm expression with a complicated expression on her face.

That was the look of an absolutely confident swan, who was convinced that she would stay at the top no matter what. Somehow, this irked some vague indescribable feelings inside her, making her want to remove that look of confidence from Evelynnʼs face, but as soon as it came, she looked away, knowing that this was jealousy, something which she hadnʼt experienced for thousands of years.

Nevertheless, Lea Weiss calmed and felt that she was starting to understand how the hierarchy within his harem worked.

ʼSo there is no concubines, mistresses, or affairs but just his women or wives that he wanted to adore and make love with them all?ʼ

She felt that it was ridiculous and unrealistic, but at the same time, it also meant that…

ʼI can have him dot on me more without having to inevitably offend his other women…?ʼ

Lea Weissʼs eyes couldnʼt help but tremble when she realized this matter.

On the other hand, Davis could only helplessly fly alone in the back while the three beauties conversed as they flew in front of him. Nevertheless, him being him, he admired their backs adorned by their beautiful robes outlining their curvy shapes, accentuated by their long hair swaying in the wind as he etched them into his mind.

The three of them were certainly the most powerful women who probably didnʼt even need him after he died to rule this First Layer. They certainly looked good together, each having their own type of attraction while exuding a boundless charm that would make the hearts of men stir. Both fortunately and unfortunately, with the Calamity Light inbound, even that kind of tragic scenario in his head was squashed before his cautious mind could even create plots against him.

Suddenly, Lea Weiss turned to look at him, appearing to look at him with glazed eyes as though she had become needy.

Davis instantly got the message that she wanted more attention from him after learning a few things about him from his women, but he wasnʼt surprised.

Human emotions were like this… practically no one would be satisfied if they were not first or treated preferentially. A small minority may not fit into this rule and would instead be satisfied with just living their lives as they please, but when the time comes, they would still act like the former, becoming needy or violent enough to gain it through soft or hard force.

”I could hold you down and kiss you deeply right in front of them if you want...”

Hearing his soul transmission, Lea Weissʼs body shook as she turned to look away, not replying to his words, but he could see that her ears became crimson.

ʼAh, the Sect Masterʼs like a newlywed young, innocent woman...ʼ

Davis couldnʼt help but feel a sense of fulfillment whenever he saw Lea Weiss blush without being able to suppress it. It invoked his desires as a man, making him want to protect and cherish her more. Although he could see that there was some communication gap due to their age and experiences, he felt that it would eventually resolve itself, especially with Isabella helping him ease the situation.

By this time, they had broken through the Territory Fog and arrived at the Burning Phoenix Ridge, which seemed to have already finished repairing and constructing new structures.

Thatʼs how fast cultivators were in building things.

Who needed cranes and other stuff when they could move it with their own strength?

Nadiaʼs figure flashed as she appeared in front of them.

While Lea Weiss thanked Nadia for guarding the Burning Phoenix Ridge and left to see her duties as a Sect Master, Evelynn turned to look at him and moved her lips.

”Davis, there were a total of four thousand, six hundred and eighty-two assassins that were found in the territory of the Alstreim Family. The Emperor Beast Stage Magical Beasts from the Magical Beast Sanctuary were extremely great as they managed to literally sniff out the assassins with their senses, but one of the assassins, a High-Level Law Rune Stage Powerhouse, managed to get into the Alstreim Familyʼs Ancestral Palace and almost killed Ancestor Dian Alstreim. Fortunately, Nadia took him down, resulting in Ancestor Dian Alstreim escaping while losing only one of his legs which is treatable.”

Davisʼs brows raised as his pupils dilated. He calmed the next moment before he asked.

”No one died, right?”

”Zero casualties, and also, Iʼve captured that weak Hidden Night Emperor alive.”

Evelynn confidently answered as her purple eyes majestically shone, causing Davis to smile at her deeply.

He had always done things on his own. It was his first time relying on someone other than Nadia and Isabella to protect his family in his stead when danger strikes, and the fact that Evelynn successfully defeated the Hidden Night Emperor and even went as far as to succeed in capturing him made him feel gratified, as well as crave her that he almost wanted to grab her head and plant a hot kiss on her sexy lips.

Unfortunately, she was a soul-body at this moment, and so was Nadia, who also led the defensive forces lent by the Magical Beast Sanctuary to take care of numerous weaker assassins.

”Thank you so much, Evelynn and Nadia.”

”No need.”

”Iʼll do anything for master.”

Evelynn rejected while Nadia smirked, both of them smiling at him with warm expressions.

”The despicable wicked path sent so many assassins.” Isabella looked angered, ”Davis, since you killed four of their hegemons, you better have swiped them clean till they have nothing to offer to their descendants.”

”Of course, itʼs all in here.”

Davis raised his hand as he pointed at his spatial ring and started to investigate the loot that he obtained from four hegemons, including all the powerhouses and experts who died, amassing a massive amount of wealth and resources that would last for generations upon generations if they donʼt use it for themselves.
