Pov: Eirlys

”Silv, what do I do? I don’t know anything about it, I’m just a knight’s daughter.”

”I-I don’t know either, I’ve never been to one, but it’s still a long time away...”

”It’s almost certain that we’ll have to attend.... There’s so much to think about.”

”...Well, I think... I think I can ask someone for help.”

”Really!!!? That’s great, I don’t think my dad or my brothers knew about that stuff.”

”Well, I still have to ask...humm you know, being her, it’s impossible for her to refuse.”

”Hmm... Who is she? She sounds like she’s close to you. Is she a noble friend?”

”Well... you could say she’s a friend I made recently.”

”Oh, does it have to do with you getting your hair done?”

”...N-no, this.... Lys, would you please go ahead? I remembered I have something to do.”

Eirlys felt a bit of relief. She had been worried ever since she heard the instructor’s words, but her friend Silvia eased her worries a bit.

She wanted to know more, but as she said, there was still a long time to go, so there was no need to rush.

Today Silvia had a new look, which also aroused a bit of curiosity in Eirlys.

Eirlys was eager to talk about girl stuff, as it was not something very common in her life. However, Silvia had left before she could deepen the conversation.

She gave it some thought and approached Alice and Elena. Usually they were not in her group, as at lunchtime they spent time with Miss Silvercres, with whom Eirlys had never had the chance to talk.

But today they were going with her group, and after not having seen them in over a week, she thought they might talk about some things.

Also, she had recently discovered that Auran was a girl and thought maybe she could be encouraged to talk more with her about female issues.

Unfortunately, Auran had not come. Eirlys was a bit worried, and in fact, that was the topic they were talking about before they left the classroom.

But Chris told them that she had already made sure and was only sick from overexertion due to the previous week. She would be back tomorrow.

Eirlys Ella had also taken Chris’s advice and was absent to do a self-assessment of herself and the possible blessing she had received.

At the temple they only told her the name and which god it belonged to, but the artifact could not specify its exact function.

A week had passed and she still did not fully understand her blessing. She had some hints, but she wasn’t entirely sure yet.

However, she felt that her art and movements were better and more precise.

It worked perfectly with her art which now did not understand its limit. At first, it was only her family art, and at most it allowed her to go through eight metamorphoses.

According to her father, it was part of a greater art, but she never believed him until she saw the rest of it in the fourth vault of William’s legacy.

At that point, she was tempted to ask Chris, who had the most points, for help, but in the end she did not.

As that crow said, it was on the basis of her effort, so, with resignation she left it there, she believed it was not meant to be hers.

Only for, a month later, in front of her bedroom door, as if it were anything....

A gem appeared with his complete ’wind attribute rapier art’ inside, it was the same art of his family but complete.

Suddenly, what generations of her family had searched for appeared in front of her for no reason or explanation, only with a note....

{Benefits of candidacy}

When she took a quick glance at it to see how real it was, she simply didn’t understand and didn’t understand its boundary it seemed like something completely different from what she practiced.

She didn’t know what to do. For a week she hesitated whether to learn it or not, whether it was the right thing to do or not.

Finally, not understanding who had given it to her and asking for advice from her friends, especially Chris, who never hesitated to help her, his words were simple and curiously convinced her.

”If it came to you, it’s because you are destined. Don’t overthink it. Things like this don’t happen twice.”

That made her mind up. She didn’t know who had given this to her, but she’d be sure to pay him back if she ever found out who it was.

But putting that aside, now after this week of absence, she wanted to ask Chris for advice about her blessing.

He always knew her flaws and weaknesses and always guided her. If there was anyone she could trust, it was him.

..

.

The group finally arrived at the dining room and, after ordering or taking out what they would eat, they sat down to eat.

They were like an adored and feared group at the academy; no one got too close while they were eating or in the hallways, well mostly because Chris looked menacingly at the boys.

When she asked about it, he said that if they didn’t have guts just because of an intimidating face they didn’t deserve to take his lessons, although Lys realized he didn’t do the same with the girls.

But they ran away when Ivan, who was a muscular guy over six feet tall, approached they with a disturbing smile, earning a scolding from Chris.

It reminded Eirlys of when she used to play gangsta with her brothers and tease the other kids in the neighborhood, only to have their parents complain to theirs and get a scolding.

..

.

”Oh no...”

He looked around for Chris with his eyes. He thought, if he could, he would ask him for advice on how to use his blessing.

But she realized that she had gotten a little lost in her thoughts. He was now sitting at a close distance beside her. Eirlys realized that she had sat in a bad place.

Not because it made her uncomfortable to be near Chris, but because, between him and her, there was a specific person.

In all likelihood, she was now close to the chaos that was coming, and, as if to check it out....

”my little angel Di, ahhh!”

”aaahhh... yum, yum...”

”Grrrr...”

’I shouldn’t have sat here...’

Eirlys was watching the now common interaction between those three people. Chris, who liked to spoil his girlfriend Selene, was feeding her, while Eira, from the side, was growling at her.

But, leaving aside that a fight was about to start and that it would be weird to switch places, honestly, Eirlys felt a little envious of Selene.

She too wanted a boyfriend who would treat her sweetly like that.

She had always been treated like a boy in her family. Since she was a little girl, she usually wore her hair short and was easily confused.

Only in recent years, when she came of age, did she decide to make a change.

By entering the academy, she hoped to be feminine enough, have female friends and, if possible, attract the attention of the opposite sex, or at least that’s what she thought deep down when she imagined herself surrounded by people her own age.

However, becoming strong had priority.

She dreamed of becoming a powerful warrior and knight, someone who would make her family proud. That was paramount. Even if she wanted to, she had no time for romance.

Still, when she saw Selene and Chris together and happy, doubts and envy welled up inside her.

Eirlys, in fact, had already had her ideal type of partner in mind a long time ago, for her it had to be someone strong and loving, attentive and romantic.

Someone who would positively influence her life and push her to improve, someone who, instead of interfering with her dream, would help her achieve it faster.

She knew she was too idealistic a prototype, so she put aside the idea of having a boyfriend. Until she met Chris.

If she thought about it, Chris had all that and more... but, unfortunately, he already had a girlfriend.

’Let’s not think about that. He’s a good friend and he’s obviously in love with Selene.’

Eirlys stopped those nonsensical thoughts and looked at the boys at the table. None of them particularly caught her eye, until her gaze landed on Will.

She thought about it for a moment, but still felt something was missing. Besides, she saw him more as a friend than a potential mate.

The guys in the group As usual, they seemed to be betting on who would win this time in the fight that was about to happen, which Eirlys didn’t doubt either, though she wouldn’t bet on it. That wouldn’t be very girl.

”Oh, I see someone is especially jealous today.”

”I’m not jealous, can’t you just eat normally?”

It was something Eirlys always thought. Chris became unusually childish when she annoyed Eira.

Obviously, the latter didn’t like Chris hanging out with her sister, and Chris wouldn’t back down, provoking her until she got angry and they started a fight.

It was so normal that even after a week of not seeing each other, no one was surprised that they fought at the first opportunity.

But again leaving aside the inevitable Eirlys also noticed that Eira had a new look. She wondered if she herself should do the same.

The girls in her group seemed to be changing their appearance lately including Silvia who came in with tidier, trimmed hair.

She wondered if trimming her hair to shoulder length like Eira would suit her, or fixing her bangs a bit like Silvia might also give her more femininity.

Or maybe some nice buns like Alice started wearing, Eirlys took note and thought she would look more feminine if she varied a bit, but she only knew how to do a high ponytail....

’maybe the person Silv mentioned, can help me’.

”Okay, Selene, let’s give the privilege today to Eira.”

”Yep...”

”Hey, get off me, you bastard! Who said I wanted this?”

”Come on, I know this is what you wanted. Well, I’ll pamper you too. My cute little kitty,”

”....”

But she put that thought aside when she saw Chris provoke Eira even more by taking her and sitting her on his lap, right where Selene had been sitting moments ago

by this point the fight was about to begin. Eirlys knew that at any moment Eira would lose her patience and start a physical fight.

There were times when, if you were too close, the occasional scratch or bite could get you, and that’s why Eirlys regretted being so close.

But the fight I was hoping for never came.

”See, I knew this was what you wanted. You know you can be honest and just ask, I’m not going to refuse.”

”Hummp! Who said I wanted it? It’s just you doing whatever you feel like.”

”Yes, yes, whatever you say, my pretty kitty. I’ll give you lots of cuddles.”

”Hmph!!”

”Your snorting only makes me stronger.”

”....” (all)

Eirlys and everyone around stood in Silence at the incomprehensible scene.
