Endless World: The Rise of Leonard Lawson

Shortly after Wesley received the news, he promptly ordered the guards to increase security.

Slaves that went berserk were no longer a small issue.

Therefore, Wesley had no choice but to command Ethan to relay the information to the rest while he retreated to his main office to prepare.

In the main office, there was a communication tool that he could use to transmit messages.

’The slaves better not have consumed the Wrathbane Extract.’ Wesley hoped silently. He would have much rather wished these slaves had gone berserk because of an ability or some other method. If it were truly the Wrathbane Extract, then the city of Velastra would be in danger.

A city where he spent all his energy and focus could not go into ruin!

Wesley refused to let anyone else destroy the very city he built.

While Wesley rushed to his main office to seek reinforcement, back at the main banquet, the crowd went numb from the alarming news.

”The slaves went berserk?”

”So that’s what the earlier crash sound was?”

”Doesn’t that mean we’ll be in danger if we continue to stay here?”

Without Wesley’s presence anymore, some of these merchants had finally grown bold and began to voice their complaints.

They refused to be trapped in a place where their life and death could not be guaranteed.

This may be the Merchant Guild with many competent guards. But everyone knew if the cons outweighed the pros, they could easily be turned into bait for other valuable personnel to escape.

Not a single one of them was willing to become bait or a sacrificial pawn for another person to escape!

If anything, they should be the ones saved.

While the rest of the merchants remained selfish, Leonard gestured to Mirelle. ”You can bring the female dancer over here. It just so happened that she was close enough to hear the news.”

Mirelle’s eyes widened in surprise. She didn’t expect Leonard to extend a willing hand to save the tragic female dancer, who was left stranded on the ground.

And by using the excuse of needing the female dancer to relay the obvious news, he effectively told others that he planned to save her from the plight.

After all, Wesley’s trusted subordinate, Ethan, had already made an announcement. His words were by no means anything low either.

The sound was thunderous and resounding enough for everyone in the banquet to understand what was happening outside.

There were slaves on the loose, and not just any random slaves. But those who had gone berserk. Everyone knew that once a person or other races went berserk, their power would grow exponentially.

In the blink of an eye, Mirelle brought the anxious and timid female dancer over to their table.

Her body was trembling heavily, clearly nervous about the situation.

She doubted the merchant in front of her desired her body or beauty when she had long been soiled. ’This person has the Rosalia Troupe. What could he possibly want from me?’

She began to wonder if she had also displeased the merchant because of her incompetence, which resulted in the earlier dispute.

Leonard waited for a while before asking her, ”What’s your name?”

”I-It’s Cheryl, Sir...”

”Cheryl, huh. Is that your real name or the stage dancer’s name?”

”It’s both, Sir.” Cheryl was a bit startled by the sudden inquiry. She was both relieved and confused by the questions.

Although it wasn’t common for a dancer to have a stage name, her circumstances were a bit special. The name Cheryl itself sounded perfect for a dancer.

Leonard nodded.

”You can stay by my side for now.” He lightly said before turning to one of the guards nearby.

”You don’t mind if I take her away as well, right?”

When the guard heard Leonard’s question, they nearly had a mental breakdown.

Brother, you were so cozy with Lord Wesley!

Lord Wesley even granted you the precious and alluring Rosalia Troupe!

Who would dare oppose you from taking another inferior female dancer?

”Sir can naturally take her away.” The guard tried their best to smile and respond.

Of course, if it were anyone else who raised the question, it would be hard to say. These female dancers were here to serve and please the guests, but bringing them back was a whole different story.

After all, these dancers weren’t whores for the taking, but trained women used to service the important guests.

Once the matter was considered settled, Cheryl’s eyes widened in disbelief. By taking her in, she effectively avoided the dreadful fate of never-ending torture of trying to live.

She hurriedly tried to go on her knees to thank him for the generosity.

”If you kneel, then you can return to your original position.” Leonard quickly halted her action in time with the stern warning. If she were to kneel down, then wouldn’t that mean he was the same as Hines, albeit different in status?

Even if she simply kneeled and did nothing. The others would still perceive the action as another kind of role play to enjoy life.

He didn’t save her because he desired any part of her body. Instead, what he wanted was to extract valuable information from her.

’Since she’s a dancer not on the reserve list, she should have more knowledge of the current training house.’ Leonard thought. The Rosalia Troupe members were on the reserved list and were thus excluded from doing this kind of act.

To summarize, the three SSS wouldn’t have the latest information, only the outdated version.

And on the off-chance that they do have the latest information, it wouldn’t hurt to cross-reference them in a separate room to verify and confirm the news.

It sounded very crappy to do such a thing when the women had suffered long enough already, but being cautious keeps one alive.

He would prefer to go through the ordeal and get blasted by them internally than be shocked like a dork when he gets caught unexpectedly.

’Saving her from the hell hole can be considered the payment fee.’ He concluded silently.
