Urban Seduction: Housewives Club

Chapter 1694 - 0023: The Crisis of My Younger Aunt 1

The captain leading the squad of soldiers furrowed his brow and asked, ”From Jinling?”

”Yeah, yeah, the Wang family from Jinling,” Wang Yue nodded hastily.

The captain hesitated for a moment, then nodded and said, ”Go ahead, but be careful. If you canʼt fight them off, prioritize your own survival. We need to hold the fortress, so this time youʼre on your own.”

”Thank you,” Wang Yue sincerely expressed his gratitude, feeling the captainʼs concern, though he was puzzled by the vague words. But he couldnʼt ask for clarification; doing so would give him away. So he drove through the fortress and continued to follow the aircraft.

”From what that captain said, it seems someone among the beast tribe is in trouble, which is why the Jinling military has been mobilized,” Wang Yue thought to himself as he kept accelerating.

Those who would venture into the beast territory were usually adventurers.

Adventurers were individuals who hunted the beast tribe to reap benefits. After the spiritual energy resurgence, secret realms would occasionally appear around the world, and more than half of these realms emerged within the beast territory rather than the human domain.

Unlike humans, the beast tribe didnʼt accept the legacies within the secret realms to cultivate. Instead, they would swallow or hoard the legacies and treasures they found, using the spiritual energy emanating from these items to strengthen themselves.

When humans killed these beasts that had swallowed treasures or discovered their hoards, they could obtain the treasures the beasts had acquired from the secret realms.

Thus, human martial artists were extremely enthusiastic about adventuring, and even many ordinary people would participate. This was because it was one of the two pathways, and the most reliable one, for ordinary people to advance to becoming martial artists.

To put it simply, it was like monster hunting and treasure looting in a game, where both strength and luck were important.

As for the other pathway, it involved a secret realm appearing right beside an ordinary person, fitting them perfectly, and remaining undiscovered by others while they explored it. This required too many coincidences and was rarer than winning the lottery.

In fact, the three major families of Jinling had started as ordinary adventurers.

Initially, Wang Yueʼs great-grandfather and the founders of the Su and Chen families were all ordinary people. They had adventured into the beast territory with only their ordinary strength and, by sheer luck, found the lair of a beast that had gone out. They obtained a large number of treasures from it, including three sets of cultivation methods and martial techniques.

They were the epitome of ”lucky players.”

These three sets of cultivation methods and martial techniques were evenly distributed among the three families. However, since the Chen family had two members, a pair of cousins, they received more treasures. As a result, the Chen family became the strongest among the three major families of Jinling.

But when these four ancestors obtained the treasures, they were already middle-aged and couldnʼt achieve much in their cultivation. Instead, they paved the way for their descendants.

The two brothers from the Chen family had different fates. The younger brother had only one daughter, who later married into the Su family and became Wang Yueʼs grandmother. The true inheritance, however, came from the elder brotherʼs line, and Wang Yueʼs fiancée, Chen Xi, was from this lineage.

Sometimes Wang Yue would feel puzzled. The three major families of Jinling had only risen to prominence in the past few decades and lacked a deep foundation. So how did they manage to get involved with the powerful and mysterious martial arts holy lands?

Back to the main point.

Following this line of thinking, Wang Yue continued: If adventurers from Jinling had run into trouble and it had caused the military to mobilize, it meant that the adventurer or group of adventurers held a high status.

Coincidentally, Wang Yueʼs aunt, Su Mengqing, was the president of the Jinling Adventurers Association.

He also recalled that in his previous life, he hadnʼt seen his aunt for a long time around this period.

Moreover, his aunt was already at the peak of the Earth Abyss stage in cultivation. With her talent, which was on par with his motherʼs, and her passionate personality, she should have been able to break through the barrier from the Earth Abyss stage to the Tianyuan stage.

However, in the great upheaval three years later, his aunt was still at the Earth Abyss stage, which was clearly abnormal.

Could it be that his aunt was the one who had run into trouble, and that she had been severely injured in this incident, damaging her foundation and thus affecting her subsequent breakthrough?

At the thought of this possibility, Wang Yue became extremely anxious. He immediately accelerated the floater to its maximum speed, almost keeping pace with the military aircraft.

But that was all he could do, because he had no idea where the trouble had occurred. Even if he was in a hurry, he couldnʼt overtake the military personnel. Otherwise, blindly rushing around would only waste more time.

In this way, the military aircraft and Wang Yueʼs floater continued to move forward at a speed of over five hundred kilometers per hour for more than half an hour, eventually arriving at an open area.

Before the great upheaval of heaven and earth, this place should have been a small village. The upheaval caused the planet to increase in size by a hundredfold, and naturally, the surface area also expanded significantly. The originally tightly connected buildings now stood sparsely, scattered here and there, and most of them had been destroyed.

In the position of a square in a village from hundreds of years ago, a group of five people were fiercely battling a group of ferocious beasts.

At this moment, the human side was already at an absolute disadvantage, surrounded on three sides. Everyone was leaning against a thick earthen wall, relying entirely on a figure at the front to hold them off.

It was a woman, a very tall woman with an excellent figure.

A tight black combat suit perfectly outlined her perfect figure. A pair of large breasts strained the sturdy combat suit, as if they might burst out of the clothing at any moment. Her slender waist was just barely graspable, but below it expanded sharply. Her plump and perfectly shaped buttocks created an exaggerated curve in the tight combat suit. The most eye-catching feature, however, was her pair of long, straight legs. Her overall figure perfectly exemplified the ”golden ratio.”

The woman wielded a spear with both hands, and every beast that charged at her was effortlessly knocked away. Her long black hair was scattered and fluttered gracefully in the qi-infused wind. Her invincible and stunning posture made everyone who saw her involuntarily admire her in their hearts: What a battlefield goddess!

”Auntie!” Seeing the goddessʼs face, which was seventy percent similar to his motherʼs, Wang Yue felt both worried and delighted. Fortunately, he hadnʼt arrived too late; his aunt hadnʼt been injured yet.

Soldiers were the most professional at dealing with beasts. After the aircraft landed nearby, the soldiers quickly disembarked and formed a thousand-person battle formation.

”President Su, hold on!” The leading officer loudly greeted Su Mengqing and her group, telling them that the army had arrived to boost their morale, and then immediately led the charge.

Wang Yue didnʼt act immediately. Instead, he circled around and quietly approached. After all, he was only at the first level of the Earth Abyss stage, and these beasts were far from weak. Even his aunt at the peak of the Earth Abyss stage couldnʼt break through. If he joined the fray and fought the beasts head-on, it wouldnʼt make much of a difference.

So he planned to act as a trump card, rescuing his aunt at a crucial moment. To avoid being recognized, he even covered his face with a piece of black cloth.

As for the others, he would save them if possible, but if not, he would have to let them go—he didnʼt have the heart to harm others, but he wasnʼt selfless enough to sacrifice his and his auntʼs lives to save others.

With the addition of the militaryʼs thousand-person battle formation, the beasts had to divert a large portion of their forces to deal with them, which immediately relieved a lot of pressure on Su Mengqing.

But just as she let out a sigh of relief, a beast that looked like a cheetah but was much larger suddenly leaped up from the middle of the beast group and pounced at her through the air.

”Tianyuan stage?!” Su Mengqing was shocked. She had never expected that among these beasts, there was actually a powerful creature at the Tianyuan stage.
