Urban Seduction: Housewives Club

Chapter 1649: The Slaying

At ten in the morning, the wedding commenced as scheduled. Despite being in the West, Ye Feiʼs wedding was purely Eastern in style. Ye Fei did not wear a suit, and Liu Yunʼer did not don a wedding dress. Instead, they both wore vintage red ceremonial robes.

Liu Yunʼer, in particular, was adorned with a phoenix crown and a rosy veil, but unlike in ancient times, she did not cover her face with a red veil. Already a stunning beauty, she now looked even more radiant.

The wedding process need not be detailed (in truth, the author is not well-versed in traditional Chinese weddings, having only seen the highly simplified version with only three bows on TV and the awkward hybrid versions in real life). In short, it was characterized by two words: lengthy.

As each ritual was carried out one by one, it was already noon before the wedding reached its final stage, where the bride and groom served tea to their elders.

This last item was the easiest for Ye Fei and Liu Yunʼer, as everyone present was already acquainted. Particularly for Liu Yunʼer, who had spent the past few nights fighting alongside Liu Yiru, the bond between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law had grown as close as that of sisters.

Thus, without any pretense, they put on a show of filial piety and maternal kindness in front of everyone.

At this moment, Ye Fei knelt before Liu Tianlin and Qiao Ya, holding a cup of tea and presenting it to Liu Tianlin.

”Father-in-law, please enjoy your tea,” Ye Fei said. Although he was following ancient customs, it was not ancient times. Technically, he should now address Liu Tianlin as ”dad,” but he had no intention of doing so. His mother was his and his alone, and he would not allow any other man, not even in name, to have even the slightest connection with her.

Liu Tianlin, of course, did not mind such formalities. He took the teacup, sipped from it, and then, following the ritual, gave Ye Fei a few pieces of advice. Inside, however, he was very pleased. Firstly, his daughter had found the place she loved the most.

Secondly, and more importantly for himself, now that Ye Fei was Qiao Yaʼs son-in-law, with her personality, she would surely no longer entertain any other thoughts. This meant that he might be able to restore the loving relationship he once had with his wife.

”Mother-in-law, please enjoy your tea,” Ye Fei said again, holding another cup of tea and presenting it to Qiao Ya. However, just as she was about to take it, her head, which had been lowered, suddenly lifted. Her gaze, filled with passion and admiration, boldly met Ye Feiʼs.

Since the day he had been with her, Qiao Ya had been avoiding Ye Fei. It was only now that they faced each other again, and with Liu Yunʼerʼs consent, he naturally wanted to take the opportunity to flirt with his beautiful and sexy mother-in-law.

The moment Qiao Yaʼs eyes met Ye Feiʼs, her heart trembled involuntarily. Her delicate hand, which had just taken the teacup, also shook, nearly causing her to drop it.

Qiao Ya quickly took a deep breath to steady herself and nonchalantly took a sip. But inside, her heart was in complete disarray.

Just as Ye Fei had thought, Qiao Ya had indeed been deliberately avoiding him these past few days. When she saw Ye Fei again, the mental barrier she had built over a year crumbled in an instant. What she had thought she had gradually forgotten, only occasionally recalling in her dreams, now constantly flashed through her mind, even when she avoided Ye Fei.

At first, Qiao Ya had indeed hated Ye Fei to the bone, even having thoughts of taking him down with her. However, she was, after all, a kind-hearted person, just like her daughter, who didnʼt like to think ill of others.

So, after calming down a bit, she, like her daughter, believed that Ye Zhi-lin had deliberately said those things under Ye Feiʼs instructions.

The purpose was to make her hate him and thus abandon the idea of ending her own life. This was also the reason why she could never truly hate Ye Fei.

That day, when Liu Yiru and Ye Fei had schemed with Liu Yunʼer, there was one thing they didnʼt get wrong.

When a woman canʼt hate a man but also canʼt forget him, she will start to think of his good points.

The most profound impression Ye Fei left on Qiao Ya was the experience of becoming a true woman and feeling a real orgasm. Such an unforgettable pleasure, how could she forget it? So gradually, Ye Fei took root in her heart.

When she tried not to think of him, she was actually thinking of him all along.

It was only when she saw Ye Fei again that Qiao Ya realized that her so-called hatred and forgetting of him were nothing but self-deception.

Deep down in her heart, she had never forgotten him, nor had she forgotten the ecstatic pleasure of that time. This made her very self-reproachful, which was why she kept avoiding Ye Fei.

But today, Qiao Ya had nowhere to hide. After all, it was her daughterʼs wedding day, and as a mother, she couldnʼt avoid showing up. But she never expected that Ye Fei would flirt with her in such a situation.

Ye Feiʼs behavior made Qiao Ya wonder if what Ye Zhi-lin had said back then was true, and if she had been too optimistic about this young man. But then she thought that since Liu Yiru was so good, her son shouldnʼt be that bad. So for a moment, she was utterly confused.

Fortunately, Ye Fei also knew the timing, so he just lightly teased her and didnʼt continue to flirt with Qiao Ya, which made her breathe a sigh of relief.

After serving the tea, the wedding was officially over. According to ancient customs, Liu Yunʼer should have gone back to the bridal chamber to wait.

But after all, times have changed, and the bride no longer has to hide like in ancient times. So she didnʼt go back but followed Ye Fei to toast the guests.

This was a huge task. Today, there were thousands of people, so many that even the Zhonghua Building couldnʼt hold them all.

Tables were set up in both the front and back courtyards. Even if they only toasted one cup per table, it would be quite tiring. But Liu Yunʼer didnʼt back down because she was just too happy today.

Of course, toasting started with the most important guests, and each had to be done separately. Today, the most important ones were naturally Liu Yiru and Liu Tianlin and their wives, as well as a few high-ranking members of the Lingyun Society and the Zhonghua Building.

Unexpectedly, before they even finished the first table, Ye Fei suddenly frowned and sneered, ”An unwelcome guest has arrived.”

Liu Yunʼer, who was by his side, quickly asked, ”Whatʼs wrong?”

”Thereʼs a guy full of hostility heading this way. He must be the leader of the Holy War Organization,” Ye Fei said without hiding anything.

”Weʼll go and take care of him!” Baldy and the others immediately stood up excitedly. Today was their leaderʼs wedding day, and someone dared to come and cause trouble. This could not be tolerated!

”No, you guys are probably not a match for him,” Ye Fei shook his head and said, ”Moreover, since this guy is so disrespectful to me, I definitely need to deal with him personally!”

Baldy and the others had absolute faith in Ye Fei. Since Ye Fei said they were no match, they didnʼt insist. But they still said, ”Boss, weʼll go with you!”

”I can handle it alone. Going with more people would be giving him too much credit,” Ye Fei still shook his head. Then he picked up a wine glass, poured a glass of red wine, and added an ice cube to it. He smiled at Liu Yunʼer and said, ”Wife, in the past, Guan Yu warmed wine and beheaded Hua Xiong. Today, Iʼll perform an ice wine slaying of a strong enemy for you, how about that?”

Liu Yiru and the members of the Lingyun Society knew Ye Fei the best. Seeing him speak so casually, they all felt relieved. However, the people from the Zhonghua Building were still a bit worried. Liu Yunʼer even said, ”Then you must be very careful.”
