New Age Of Summoners

Chapter 1987: Second Task [Completed]

The dragons were more powerful than the human cultivators, and since each of these Dragons was considered a genius in their worlds, Ajax took a little more time than the Celestial Pillars guarded by the Human Cultivators.

ʼI think I better go back now.ʼ

The time given for his second task would be finished in a few more minutes. Hence, Ajax wanted to return to his Celestial Pillar for the rewards.

ʼSwooshʼ

ʼSwooshʼ

Since his Quasi-God Official Skill [Aetherial Wind Cloak] was still active, Ajax was not worried about the delay.

ʼDing,

The hostʼs Monster Vine, Viny, has fully devoured a 220-year-old Monster Vine and successfully reached 1000 years old.

While rushing towards his Celestial Pillar, Ajax received a system notification regarding his Monster Vine.

ʼFinally, it became a 200-year old Monster Vine after devouring ten 200+ years old Monster Vines.ʼ

Checking the system notification, Ajax smiled.

Once Ajax began his mission of destroying the Celestial Pillars, he successfully destroyed 30 Celestial Pillars and gained 30 Monster Vines belonging to the owners of those Celestial Pillars.

Among them, half of the Monster Vines are 200 years old. Clearly, their owners chose the reward of instantly growing their Monster Vines to 200 years old unlike Ajax, who chose the Celestial Cultivation Chamber.

Of course, the other cultivators chose the Greater World Core to become the owner of the Celestial Pillar and chose the Celestial Cultivation Chamber as the reward for completing their first task issued by the Celestial Pillar.

Ajax stored those Monster Vines away and only fed the 200+ years old Monster Vines to his Monster Vine and due to the lack of high devouring efficiency, Viny had to eat 10 such Monster Vines to successfully increase its age from 150 to 1000 years.

Anyway, Ajax was happy that it had finally reached 1000 years old because he knew that it was time for the Monster Vine to awaken its second ability.

ʼDing,

The hostʼs Monster Vine is awakening its second ability.

ʼDing,

The system suggests the host feed his Monster Vine with more Monster Vines to increase the chances of awakening a good Second Ability.

ʼI can affect the awakening of its second ability?ʼ

Ajax was not surprised that his Monster Vine was awakening its second ability; however, what pleasantly surprised him was that he could increase its probability of awakening a good ability.

Previously, the Monster Vine awakened its first ability, [Spiritual Communication] upon reaching 100 years and now, its age has reached 1000 years and the ability is already much better than its first ability.

So, how could Ajax be not excited when he could manually affect its chances of awakening a good second ability?

ʼI still have 5 Monster Vines with ages about 250 years and another 15 with above 150 years.ʼ ʼMoreover, by now, Siora might have collected many Monster Vines.ʼ

Ajax quickly took out all the Monster Vines and started feeding his Monster Vine, Viny. Unlike before, the feeding this time was much faster; however, the Monster Vine, Vinyʼs age was not increasing at all; instead, all the energy from the Monster Vines was focused on awakening its second ability.

ʼThat might be the reason why its devouring was much faster.ʼ

Seeing the crazy devouring speed of his Monster Vine, Ajax quickly linked it to the awakening of its second ability.

ʼBefore it finished devouring all the Monster Vines, I should reach Siora.ʼ

According to the system, the more Monster Vines are fed to Viny, the better the Second Ability would be and thus, Ajax wanted to feed as many Monster Vines as possible to his companion Monster Vine.

[Celestial Cloud Step]

ʼSwooshʼ

Together with his movement cultivation technique and the Quasi-God Skill, Ajax returned to his Celestial Pillar in less than a minute.

”Itʼs time for you to sleep for eternity.”

By now, Siora had already killed so many participants and she was still playing with some.

Seeing that Ajax had returned, she no longer wasted any time and quickly took care of them and collected their Monster Vines.

”How many Celestial Pillars did you destroy?”

After taking care of the attackers, Siora expectantly asked Ajax.

As someone who has seen Ajaxʼs true battle prowess in the Floating Island, Siora knew that it

was a childʼs play for Ajax to destroy the Celestial Pillar.

Thus, she asked how many Celestial Pillars he destroyed instead of asking whether he destroyed any Celestial Pillar.

”Take a guess.”

Ajax didnʼt answer her; instead, he took the Monster Vines from Siora and asked her to take the guess.

While waiting for her reply, Ajax fed the newly collected Monster Vines to his Viny, letting it devour.

”25?”

Siora thought for a moment and said a number that she felt was right!

”Close.”

Ajax smiled and without keeping her in suspense, he revealed, ”30. I have destroyed 30 Celestial Pillars and if not for the time limit, I would have destroyed all the Celestial Pillars.”

If someone heard his words, they would feel that Ajax was overboard in his bragging; however, Siora didnʼt doubt it and believed it.

Soon, Ajax shared more details regarding his mission of destroying the Celestial Pillars while waiting for two things.

1) For the Monster Vine to finish the awakening of its second ability.

2) For the Second Taskʼs one-hour time limit to complete so that he could receive the rewards for his one hourʼs hard work.

Time continued to pass and the last few minutes passed by without any surprise as both the things Ajax was waiting for, finally got finished.

[Congratulations to the participant for completing the second task of the Celestial Pillar

within an hour]

ʼDing,

Congratulations. The hostʼs Monster Vine has successfully awakened its Second Ability.

Two notifications, one from the Ancient Voice belonging to the Celestial Pillar and another one from the system, both came at the same time, giving him double happiness.
