I Became The Chief Of A Primitive Village

Chapter 1102, Yan Hua Is About to Break Through

After Su Bai and the others had tested the Freedom One’s flight speed and stability, everyone returned inside the Yong’an Building.

“Shaman, you mentioned earlier that there was another option for a transportation vehicle to carry goods. Do you have something in mind?”

Yan Hua’s curiosity about new things was immediately stirred again, her delicate scarlet eyes blinking rapidly.

“Yes, Shaman, tell us.” Sha Lan had probably spent too much time around Yan Hua.

As the saying goes, one takes on the colour of one’s company. She had become particularly fond of gossip lately.

“But does our Tribe not already have the Long Toothed Turtle? I think it’s convenient for transporting goods.” Yu Ying said softly.

“Silly girl, the Long Toothed Turtle is only suited for swimming in rivers. That’s the only way it moves quickly. On land, it’s slower than we are on foot.” Yan Hua lightly tugged at the other girl’s fox ears.

*Mmph~* Yu Ying let out an instinctive sound that set the imagination running.

That was simply the nature of Demi-Humans. Both their tails and their ears were rather sensitive.

*Ahem…* Su Bai heard the sound and gave a light cough, composing himself as he said: “Do you all remember our Six Eyed Red Bird?”

“Shaman, are you thinking of using the Six Eyed Red Bird as a transportation vehicle?” Yan Hua blinked her eyes in puzzlement and continued, “But aren’t they an essential Ferocious Beast for our ground forces?”

The Tribe now had the rough shape of three military branches, land, river, and sky. Though of course, the sky branch was still rather weak.

There was only Shu Feng, Ai’er, and a few others, with the Grey Feathered Giant Bird having only recently joined. And even those individuals held multiple roles. Ai’er, for instance, was also a member of the Assassination Group, while the Grey Feathered Giant Bird served as a transportation vehicle, and Shu Feng still belonged to the Police Department.

It was easy enough to see that the Flame Dragon Tribe’s need for capable people remained very great.

“Of course I’m not using them as transportation vehicles directly. It’s just that our transportation vehicles need the Six Eyed Red Bird to help draw them out.” The corner of Su Bai’s mouth curved upward slightly.

“Shaman, do you mean having the Six Eyed Red Bird draw out others of their own kind?” Yan Hua ventured boldly.

“That’s only half of it. What I mean is that we need to ride the Six Eyed Red Bird out on a hunt and Tame as many large Ferocious Beasts as possible. That way, wouldn’t our transportation vehicles be sorted out?” Su Bai took a calm sip of tea and continued: “Whether we encounter something of a large build or something roughly the same size as a Six Eyed Red Bird, those Ferocious Beasts are unlikely to run.”

“Right. Those larger than the Six Eyed Red Bird definitely would not be afraid. Those of a similar size probably would not be either. If anything, they might even view the Six Eyed Red Bird as prey.”

Sha Lan tapped her chin with one finger and analysed carefully. “That way, we’d have a chance to get close to those Ferocious Beasts and then bring out the Shaman Bone Tablets to Tame them. The odds will be higher.”

“Exactly. It would also happen to allow the Warriors to grow familiar with the Six Eyed Red Bird, and we would bring back more Ferocious Beasts to the Tribe. We will be hitting two birds with one stone. So, why not do it?” Su Bai said lightly.

“Shaman, if it’s all right, please leave this mission to me. I will complete it.” Yan Hua was already eager to go.

“That’s fine, but this time there’s no need to go to the Hunting Ground. Just search the forest outside our Tribe’s range.”

Su Bai blinked his dark eyes and continued. “Even venturing near other Tribes is fine, but personal safety is the most important thing.”

The Flame Dragon Tribe’s strength was now quite high. At the very least, none of the nearby Tribes were a match for Su Bai’s forces.

There was no other reason. In this age of close-range weapons, hot weapons would always reign supreme. Not one of the current Tribes possessed firearms or explosive packages, or even a more advanced bow for that matter.

Setting aside the fact that the Flame Dragon Tribe had rifles and small explosive packages, the recurve bow alone was enough to give other Tribes headaches.

Beyond that, Yan Hua was actually very strong on her own. The Six Eyed Red Bird was extraordinarily fast on foot as well. Even if other Tribes wished to do something about her, there would be nothing they could do.

“Don’t worry, Shaman. I will complete this mission perfectly.” Yan Hua showed her white teeth with a smile.

“Shaman, let me go too.” Sha Lan stepped forward immediately.

“No. There are many things in the Tribe that still need you here. From my estimates, Hu Shi should be returning to the Tribe soon enough.”

Su Bai took a sip of tea and continued. “There will be many people from other Tribes arriving soon. The Tribe will grow very busy as a result. So, the Flame Dragon Tribe needs you here.”

“I am more than happy to help the Tribe. But, it would be dangerous for Ah’Hua to go alone.” Sha Lan was a little worried. She added. “You know how she charges straight ahead without a second thought. I’m afraid that without me watching over her, she’ll cause trouble.”

“I’ve already considered that. This is actually the opportunity for her to advance to become a Mid-Stage Totem Warrior, so she must go on her own.” Su Bai said with great seriousness.

He could sense the changes taking place inside Yan Hua. From her awakening to now, till she was on the verge of advancing to become a Mid-Stage Totem Warrior, he had watched every step of it.

Su Bai found it genuinely surprising, and for no other reason than that the pace was simply too fast.

Many Totem Warriors had to struggle for several years before barely managing to advance to the Mid-Stage

Yan Hua had only awakened as a Totem Warrior last year. That was still less than a full year ago, and Yan Hua was already on the verge of advancing to the Mid-Stage.

“What? I’m about to advance?” Yan Hua’s delicate red eyes went wide in an instant.

She clearly had not seen it coming. It was only after she heard Su Bai’s words that it fully registered.

She immediately looked herself up and down, trying to sense exactly what was different about her.

“Ah’Hua is going to advance? Shaman, I haven’t felt any signs of a breakthrough from her.” Sha Lan also found it difficult to believe.

“En. Don’t forget that I have Ferocious Beast Crystals on me. My ability to sense these things is still a step above yours.” Su Bai laughed brightly and said. “You all train at a high intensity every day, and the food you eat is all very nutritious. Is advancing to the Mid-Stage really that difficult? What more, Yan Hua now has a Ferocious Beast Crystal in her as well.”

It was true. Nowhere else on this vast continent could a Tribe rival the Flame Dragon Tribe’s provisions.

And Yan Hua in particular had been eating all three of her daily meals together with Su Bai in the Yong’an Building. There was no need to say anything more about her nutrition.

Su Bai had also long had a suspicion. The awakening and advancement of Totem Warriors was perhaps linked to food.

Having adequate food was part of it. The more critical element was whether that food was nutritious.

Ever since Su Bai had obtained the Ferocious Beast Crystals, he could sense the movement of energy inside Totem Warriors.

It was the way a person naturally senses warmth or cold. It could not be learnt, and it simply came as if looking out and seeing it.
