Apocalypse Descent: Farming with My Harem

Chapter 797: Chapter 306: Planning of the New Territory, Future Outlook (6000)_3

...

Cao Xing chuckled as he listened.

He had to admit, Edward was indeed his lucky star!

Initially, when Cao Xing had the sudden notion to bring this down-and-out painter back to his territory, it was due to his advanced painting mastery.

What he hadn’t anticipated was that Edward would also bring a powerful demon to the territory.

This demon then dropped two epic-level items for Cao Xing, significantly boosting both his and Renice’s strength!

The assistance could be considered immense!

Of course, only Cao Xing had the power to deal with the demon.

If it had been any other survivors or factions, they wouldn’t have been able to handle that creature even if it appeared—they might have been completely wiped out by it.

Thinking about this made Cao Xing feel even better.

”Great, I have a task for you now.”

Edward immediately straightened up, then respectfully said, ”Lord, please tell me, I will do my utmost to complete it!”

Cao Xing smiled and said, ”It’s not a difficult task.”

”I need you to sketch out the layout of our territory’s buildings; how long will that take?”

The painter pondered for a moment and then said, ”Reporting to Lord, I need to first conduct a survey from a higher vantage point.”

”But it shouldn’t take long, probably about ten minutes to complete the drawing.”

Cao Xing nodded upon hearing this. ”Alright, you go ahead then.”

”The rest of you, head to the cafeteria for breakfast first, then await my orders.”

Everyone exchanged glances upon hearing this, all seeing the joy in each other’s eyes.

The goblins exclaimed happily, ”Haha, great, it’s breakfast time again.”

”Yeah, yeah, we’ve lived for decades and had never heard of what breakfast was.”

”The life of those living in this territory is simply too blissful!”

The group of Polar People proudly said, ”Of course, our Lord is both considerate of subordinates and kind yet powerful!”

”You are lucky to have come to this territory!”

The goblins agreed, ”By the Earth Cave God, I very much agree with what this Polar person said.”

”Yes, yes, if we had met the Lord earlier, it would have been much better.”

”Phimos, I suggest we send someone back to the Southern Continent to bring the other laborers over to serve the Lord.”

”Ramos, you idiot, the distance between us and the Southern Continent is at least several Earth Dragons long, you’d run yourself to death before you made it...”

With the goblins chattering away, the crowd gradually dispersed.

Meanwhile, Edward quickly climbed up a distant watchtower to observe the territory’s terrain.

He then took out a drawing board and brush, earnestly beginning to sketch.

Once entering the working state, the painter’s demeanor was unprecedentedly serious.

He frequently glanced at the buildings below, sometimes wielding his brush with swift movements.

Compared to the earlier dispirited look, it was as if he had become a different person altogether.

Cao Xing and Liu Muxue stood below, waiting.

A few minutes later, Edward climbed down from the watchtower and quickly ran to another watchtower at the edge of the territory to sketch the terrain.

Spending about twenty minutes in total,

Edward went to four different watchtowers, sketching each locale.

Breathless, he ran over and said, ”My Lord, my Lady, it’s all finished, please take a look!”

In his hands appeared four large sheets of paper.

Each sheet depicted a corner of Cao Xing’s territory.

When laid out and pieced together, they formed a complete map.

Moreover, Edward’s artistry was excellent, nearly a one-to-one recreation of the territory’s buildings.

At a glance, one could identify which building it was.

Cao Xing praised, ”Edward, well done, your painting skills are superb.”

Liu Muxue next to him also smiled and gave a word of praise.

Receiving their compliments, Edward felt an immense sense of honor.

Immediately, he stood up straight and respectfully said, ”Thank you, Lord and Lady, for your acknowledgment!”

Then.

Cao Xing and Liu Muxue observed the drawings Edward had created.

However, the longer they looked, the more their brows furrowed.

Previously, when viewed with the naked eye, they hadn’t noticed.

But now, seeing all the buildings laid out on paper, Cao Xing realized just how disorderly his territory’s layout was.

Since his territory was a circle with a one-kilometer diameter.

And developed gradually, many buildings were built temporarily.

Whenever Cao Xing acquired new blueprints, like the King Altar or Knight Hall, he would just construct them on any available plot of land.

When newcomers arrived in the territory and needed a batch of new residential homes, they would similarly be built behind these structures.

As a result, the territory’s buildings lacked any specific planning, varying in height.

This made them appear chaotic and disordered.

Not just Cao Xing, but apart from a few survivors’ lords with a touch of OCD, this chaotic state was common to most people’s territories.

Reconstructing or redesigning would require a lot of time.

At this point, Cao Xing said, ”Muxue, I want to expand the territory’s diameter from one kilometer to two kilometers, what do you think should be the plan?”

Liu Muxue considered briefly.

Her beautiful eyes gazed at the distant buildings, contemplating something.

Cao Xing stood by quietly, waiting.

After all, planning an entire territory was no simple task.

Expanding from one kilometer to two was quadrupling the land area to a small town’s scale.

A plethora of buildings could be accommodated within.

Planning these structures while accounting for future development was a mentally taxing endeavor.

After approximately three to four minutes.

Liu Muxue seemed to have an idea.

She picked up a brush, circled the center of Edward’s drawing.

”Based on what you told me last night, the Melting Furnace and Lord Mansion can’t be moved or demolished,”

”So, those two buildings are the core of the entire territory.”

”Let’s expand from these two as the center, delineating second, third, and fourth ring areas.”

”Within these, further subdivide into residential, industrial, and agricultural zones...”

”Moreover, ensure to leave enough space for a battle zone or training grounds...”

As Liu Muxue spoke, she continued supplementing with details she had considered.

At this moment, she fully tapped into her urban planning expertise, her demeanor solemn.

”The residential zone includes the subjects’ dining and living spaces, requiring a relatively quiet environment. Hence, I propose building it in the second ring outside the Territory Mansion.”

”Then in the third ring, I recommend placing the Knight Hall, Warrior Camp, King Altar, and similar structures here, reserving more open space to facilitate future constructions.”

”Next is the industrial zone. Some noise-intensive structures like the Mechanical Factory, Ore Sorting Plant, and Logging Factory should be established away from the residential area, approximately around the periphery.”

As she explained, Liu Muxue began to circle on the map repeatedly, noting the positions within these circles.

”Additionally, farming fields and cowsheds need to be separately allocated a distinct area.”

”The Pale Tree and the back garden don’t need relocation, just keep them as is, meanwhile reserving several spots here as administrative centers for the territory town.”

”Reserve open areas in the second and third rings for emergency housing to address population surges.”

As she continued to draw.

Quickly, the map on the ground was filled with various circles.

It wasn’t until approximately twenty minutes later.

Liu Muxue finally completed her vision.

Cao Xing looked at the ground map, covered with various patterns and words,

He glanced at Edward next to him and asked, ”Do you understand my wife’s idea?”

Edward nodded eagerly, ”I understand, Lord!”

”Give me ten minutes, and I’ll illustrate the Lord’s wife’s vision.”

Cao Xing nodded.

And this talent, possessing [Advanced Painting Mastery], once again began to display his talent.

”Swish... swish...”

As he rolled out another sheet of paper on the ground, then, while glancing at the zones Liu Muxue circled, he lavishly painted.
