Evil MC's NTR Harem

Chapter 1221 Set

Jenny couldn’t help but pause for a moment, touched and slightly flustered.

”You... you really remembered all this?” she asked softly, her voice tinged with awe.

Ross shrugged lightly, leaning against the counter with an easy grin. ”Of course. I figured if we were going to spend time together, we might as well do it right.”

Jenny looked around again, taking in the room, the carefully prepared food, and the quiet confidence in Ross’s movements.

For someone so powerful and unpredictable, he had somehow made this place feel warm and welcoming—like a home rather than a temporary shelter in the middle of chaos.

She realized, with a small, almost shy smile, that this visit wasn’t about anything else—it was about connection, comfort, and curiosity. And for now, that was enough.

”Let’s eat. We don’t want the food to get cold,” Ross said, picking up his utensils.

The tension in the air eased slightly, and soon the two of them were eating and chatting, the earlier awkwardness fading into casual conversation.

The room filled with the soft clatter of dishes and the low hum of their voices.

Without others around, the atmosphere felt more intimate, quieter, and strangely more honest.

Jenny found herself relaxing, shoulders loosening, her earlier nerves slowly melting away.

The food was far better than she had expected—rich, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care.

She glanced at Ross a few times, noting how he ate casually yet attentively, how he listened even when she spoke about small, seemingly unimportant things.

Nearly an hour passed before Jenny, true to her nature, finally broached a rather delicate topic.

”I heard you already have a girlfriend,” she said casually, though her eyes were anything but casual. ”Her name’s Bella, right? And I also heard you’re tireless in bed and keep dear Bella screaming for hours every single night.”

The room felt quieter instantly, not because it truly was, but because the weight of her words settled between them. Jenny watched Ross closely, searching his face for any sign of hesitation, embarrassment, or deceit.

Ross paused, then chuckled lightly. ”Bella and I are just close friends. Besides, she’s already married. I’d rather have my woman single and free.” He shrugged. ”As for the screaming—who knows who’s screaming at night?”

He shook his head in amusement.

With more than three hundred thousand people packed into the base at the moment, the sounds of lovemaking were practically background noise.

Every night, somewhere, someone was enjoying themselves, and it had long since stopped being something worth gossiping about.

Jenny raised a brow, clearly unconvinced but amused. ”So you’re saying the rumors are exaggerated?”

”Wildly,” Ross replied with a grin. ”People love to talk, especially when there’s nothing else to do.”

She laughed softly, the tension easing from her shoulders. ”You always have an answer, don’t you?”

”Only when I’m guilty,” Ross replied smoothly.

The conversation drifted away from rumors and into lighter topics—memories, travels, small stories about the base, and things they both missed from their past lives.

Without anyone else around, the dialogue felt more personal, less filtered. Jenny found herself opening up more than she usually would, and Ross listened without interrupting, responding with just enough to show he truly cared.

So they continued talking for a while, the conversation flowing easily, and Ross subtly began offering incentives for what he had in mind that night.

”I’ve got some precious wine I looted on one of my trips,” Ross said casually. ”Want to drink it together?”

”...” Jenny paused for a long moment.

Her thoughts raced. She knew exactly what that invitation implied.

Wine shared in a quiet space, late at night, with a man like Ross—it wasn’t just about drinking.

If she accepted, there was a strong chance she’d end up in his bed before the night was over.

She wasn’t naïve, and neither was he.

Ross, of course, noticed her hesitation—and knew exactly when to press his advantage.

Before Jenny could even finish weighing her options, the bottle was already in his hands.

With a smooth, practiced motion, he uncorked it and began pouring the deep red liquid into two glasses.

The rich aroma immediately filled the air, warm and inviting.

”A glass for the beautiful lady,” Ross said with a charming smile, handing one to her.

Jenny looked at the glass, then at Ross, then back at the glass again.

For a brief moment, she considered refusing, if only to maintain some semblance of control over the situation.

But something in Ross’s expression—open, confident, unhurried—made her feel oddly safe.

She finally accepted it. ”You’re awfully confident,” she remarked, though there was a hint of amusement in her voice.

”Only when I have good wine,” Ross replied lightly.

They clinked glasses, the soft sound ringing pleasantly in the quiet room, and drank.

The wine was smooth, rich, and surprisingly mellow, spreading warmth through Jenny’s chest almost instantly.

She felt her nerves ease, her thoughts slow just a little, and her posture relax without her even realizing it.

Conversation grew livelier. Laughter became more frequent, louder, more genuine.

Stories were told with more animation, jokes landed harder, and even small comments felt funnier than they should have been.

Jenny found herself laughing at things she normally wouldn’t, her earlier reservations slowly dissolving into a warm, hazy comfort.

She noticed Ross watching her occasionally—not in a predatory way, but with an easy attentiveness that made her feel seen rather than judged.

When their eyes met, he didn’t look away, nor did he stare too intensely.

It was a balanced gaze, confident and calm, as if he were simply enjoying her presence without rushing anything.

With each passing minute, the tension between them didn’t fade—it shifted.

What had once been awkward and uncertain now became warmer, more charged, and far more personal.

The space between them felt smaller, even when they weren’t physically closer.

Jenny leaned back in her chair at one point, letting out a soft sigh. ”I didn’t expect tonight to turn out like this,” she admitted quietly.
