Junior Sister, I Really Have to Control You

Chapter 33: Chapter 23: A Bumper Harvest, Getting Rich Overnight

On Xuanzhen Peak, before the Array stealing the Spirit Charm.

Faced with Li Yinsheng’s threat, the five from the Yellow Crane Temple recovered from their initial shock and confusion, their expressions turning to ones of utter absurdity.

Yang raised his already lowered Magic Sword again, shaking his head with a smile. ”Li, you’re quite humorous...”

HUM—

A dazzling blade light flashed past their eyes and vanished.

The Magic Sword in Yang’s hand flew high into the air. The faint blue light on the blade flickered a few times in mid-air before extinguishing like a blown-out candle, and the weapon clattered to the ground.

Meanwhile, Yang’s sword-wielding arm, like a dead branch in a gale, was bent at a highly unnatural angle and trembled violently.

At the same time, he coughed up a mouthful of blood. Dark bloodstains also rapidly spread across his grayish-yellow sleeve.

Yang looked at Li Yinsheng in sheer terror.

He hadn’t seen clearly what had just happened at all. He only saw a flash before his eyes, and he lost control of his Magical Artifact. His sword-wielding arm went numb, and the Magical Power in his body churned restlessly, leaving him with severe internal injuries.

As to whether the person in front of him had used some profound Magic or an Upper Grade Magical Artifact, he had absolutely no way of knowing.

Before Yang and the four behind him, whose expressions had drastically changed, could speak, Li Yinsheng flipped his hand down, casting the Artifact Manipulation Skill upon them.

The five immediately felt a mountain-like weight crushing down on them. Without a sound, they collapsed to the ground, the Magical Artifacts in their hands dropping one after another.

Logically speaking, the Artifact Manipulation Skill was only meant for daily convenience and was difficult to use against enemies. However, when the gap in Cultivation between the two sides was large enough, it became an exception.

Li Yinsheng didn’t pay any mind to the scattered Middle Grade Magical Artifacts. Instead, he raised a hand toward the Upper Grade Magic Sword that had fallen to the ground and lost its glow earlier, pulling it into his grasp.

He thought, ”My Upper Grade Magical Artifact! Please don’t be broken! You’re worth over a hundred thousand talismanic coins!”

While probing his Divine Sense inside to inspect the Magical Artifact, Li Yinsheng shot a highly disdainful glance at the severely injured Yang.

He thought, ”Seriously man, how are you this weak? If my Upper Grade Magical Artifact is damaged because you’re too weak, I’ll never forgive you!”

Fortunately, after a careful and thorough inspection, Li Yinsheng confirmed that the Magic Sword in his hand was completely unharmed.

Although the user was a piece of trash, causing the sword to be sent flying in an instant, it was still an Upper Grade Magical Artifact after all. Its durability was unquestionable.

As for the extinguished treasure light, it was simply because its master was heavily injured and powerless to maintain it.

Confirming that the Upper Grade Magic Sword was fine, Li Yinsheng finally breathed a sigh of relief. This thing was significantly more expensive than the Array he bought on credit.

Majestic Magical Power poured into the sword, scattering all the Restrictions left by the original owner within a few breaths. Face-down on the ground, Yang suffered a backlash and coughed up another mouthful of blood.

Li Yinsheng hastily completed a partial Refinement on this Upper Grade Magic Sword. With a single thought, a faint blue Sword Light bloomed, several times stronger than before, seemingly illuminating the entire blade until it was translucent.

He let go. A streak of blue light darted past like a swimming fish ten feet above the heads of the five from the Yellow Crane Temple. In a single breath, it crisscrossed back and forth over a dozen times.

Faint blue Sword Qi spiraled and flowed in the surroundings. Even from ten feet away, the turf on the ground was violently churned up by the crisscrossing Sword Qi.

The five from the Yellow Crane Temple lying on the ground had their Daoist Robes shredded by the swirling Sword Qi. Over a dozen intersecting wounds appeared on each of their backs, blood flowing freely.

Li Yinsheng recalled the Magic Sword, a look of joy on his face.

He thought, ”It’s worthy of being an Upper Grade Magical Artifact! This sword doesn’t even need any extra Technique to be activated. Just letting it fly around casually unleashes power greater than the White Blade Skill.”

The Sword Qi that had just surrounded the blade couldn’t even be considered a true attack; it was merely the spontaneously dissipating residual power.

It was just like how a fierce tiger’s fur felt rough and prickly to an ordinary person’s touch. That was only because human hands were too delicate compared to a tiger. In reality, that fur wasn’t a means for the tiger to fight or hunt at all.

If Li Yinsheng had truly activated the power of the Magic Sword just now, even if those five weren’t minced into fine meat, they would have been scattered in pieces all over the ground.

Of course, Li Yinsheng had no intention of actually killing them.

For one thing, the precepts of the Zhengyang Dharma Vein were still very strict. Simply seizing treasures might be justifiable to some extent, but killing to seize treasures was far too egregious. The Dharma Vein would definitely hold him accountable.

This was also the main reason why, despite the Xuanzhen Temple being destitute for so many years, no one dared to openly show up and oppress the solitary uncle and orphaned nephew.

For another, if he really killed them, how was he supposed to demand a ransom?

He stored the Magic Sword back into his own Qiankun Bag. Raising his hand, he pulled the five Qiankun Bags from the ground, along with their scattered Magical Artifacts, into his grasp. After erasing the original owners’ marks, he began to examine the contents of the Qiankun Bags.

A moment later, Li Yinsheng shot them another highly disdainful look.

”Elixirs, Yellow Talismans, Magical Artifacts, medicinal herbs... You have quite a lot of things in your bags, but why are there so few talismanic coins?” Li Yinsheng shook his head repeatedly.

For the five Storage Bags, although the items in each bag were worth tens of thousands of talismanic coins in total value, there was very little ready cash. Added all together, it was only a little over thirty thousand.

However, the Cultivation Aspiration for accumulating talismanic coins required ready cash.

Previously, Li Yinsheng had given Mu Xiaoyu a Qiankun Bag, but the savings column hadn’t increased even a bit.

”Do you people not have any habit of saving money at all?” Li Yinsheng looked at the five of them, shaking his head repeatedly. His tone carried a bit of frustrated disappointment as he lectured, ”You must know that you’ll always regret not having enough money when the time comes to use it.”

The five on the ground widened their eyes, wanting to say something, but under the suppression of the Artifact Manipulation Skill, they couldn’t make a sound at all.

Otherwise, when the Sword Qi was crisscrossing just now, their agonizing screams would have already blended into a continuous chorus.
