My Apocalypse System Arrives 10 Years Early

Chapter 492: Chapter 324: Mach 20 Extreme Speed, Giant Power of 350,000 Jin, Not Far from the First Cosmic Velocity

What could he do? He had just taken them in, keeping them as his lovers without being able to offer them an official title. A mix of guilt and affection made him want to spoil them. Fortunately, San Niu didn’t seem to mind, which was a great relief to Li Xiang. That’s why he decided to bring them some special things as gifts.

His women, of course, had to be armed to the teeth so they’d have a better ability to protect themselves.

Li Xiang mused that Yao Yao’s Clone also needed to be equipped. Otherwise, it would be at a disadvantage fighting bare-handed whenever it was summoned.

When Nezha transformed to have three heads and six arms, he wielded a Magical Treasure in each hand. Sister Yao couldn’t be outdone.

Fortunately, Li Xiang had countless Extraordinary Items, so he was sure to find suitable equipment for the three of them.

...

Li Xiang crisscrossed the African Continent, sweeping through East Africa, South Africa, West Africa, and North Africa. Naturally, he also paid a visit to the famous island of Madagascar. It was quite well-known, with three very popular animated movies named after it.

Madagascar is the fourth-largest island in the world. It is about 1,500 kilometers long from north to south, 500 kilometers wide from east to west, and has a coastline of about 5,000 kilometers. It is separated from the African Continent by the Mozambique Channel, with the closest distance between them being a full 400 kilometers.

Surrounding Madagascar are other large and small islands, such as the Comoros Islands, the Seychelles Islands, Mauritius Island, and Reunion Island.

In a crescent-shaped bay, Li Xiang’s hand, which was gripping a lemur, suddenly froze. He then tossed the lemur aside and headed toward his destination.

He had discovered a massive Bat Cave. When Li Xiang used Earth Escape to enter, he found the ceiling of the cavern densely packed with bats hanging upside down.

The Mutant Identification Map showed a great many points of light. A rough estimate suggested there were at least ten thousand with Extraordinary potential.

This was exactly what Li Xiang loved to see. Although their Tiers weren’t high, they gathered to sleep during the day, making them extremely convenient to harvest.

An earthy-yellow light burst forth, and the giant Bat Cave collapsed.

System notifications flooded his screen: ”Congratulations, Host. You have killed a Tier Three mutated yellow-haired fruit bat...”

”Congratulations, Host. You have killed a Tier Eight mutated yellow-haired fruit bat...”

In the end, Li Xiang gained 860,000 Achievement Points and over 30,000 portions of Tier One to Tier Seven Spiritual Medicine, including Wing Membrane Lingzhi, Night Cry Fruit, Moonflower, and more.

In addition, he obtained two Extraordinary Items. The first was the Bat-wing Cloak, which allowed for silent, light, and graceful gliding. The second was the Tier Eleven Blood Kiss Dagger, which could drain blood to heal its wielder’s injuries.

Afterward, Li Xiang discovered many other bat caves. Some were inside baobab trees, but those didn’t contain many bats. The colonies inside rock caves, however, were much larger. Besides fruit bats (Pteropodidae), there were also populations of long-nosed bats, free-tailed bats, and horseshoe bats.

The bats on the African Continent alone contributed over five million Achievement Points and nearly two hundred thousand portions of Spiritual Medicine to Li Xiang. The haul was impressive.

After this campaign, the bat population on the African Continent was reduced by at least seventy percent. The other thirty percent were the ones that got away; after all, it was impossible for Li Xiang to exterminate them completely.

...

Li Xiang hadn’t upgraded his Giant Power and Divine Movement abilities in a long time. Now, looking at the over nine million Achievement Points on his system panel, he felt a great sense of accomplishment. He immediately raised Giant Power and Divine Movement to their limits once again—that is, the limits his current body and Realm could support.

Previously, his Extreme Speed was 15 Mach and his Giant Power was 270,000 jin. Now, they had increased to an Extreme Speed of 20 Mach and a Giant Power of 350,000 jin. This only cost 1,350,000 Achievement Points, leaving him with over 7.9 million remaining.

Although he still had plenty of Achievement Points, Li Xiang couldn’t dump any more into Giant Power and Divine Movement. If he went any higher, his body wouldn’t be able to handle the strain. He would have to wait until he advanced to a higher Realm.

He thought for a moment and decided to dump 500,000 points into each of his two Endurance Inscriptions. His Fighting Power naturally skyrocketed, increasing by at least threefold.

Far away in Sichuan Province, Yao Yao was bragging to Zhao Xueqing and Lei Xiaohui about her Dual Cultivation session with Li Xiang. After all, she had lasted the longest of the three, holding her own for two hours before finally being overwhelmed. Zhao Xueqing and Lei Xiaohui, on the other hand, had started begging for mercy after just half an hour.

But just then, Sister Yao suddenly shivered as an ominous premonition inexplicably washed over her.

”What’s wrong, girl?” Lei Xiaohui asked her.

Yao Yao quickly shook her head. ”Nothing, nothing. We’re on the clock, we shouldn’t be talking about this. Come on, let’s discuss some actual work.”

Zhao Xueqing: ”...”

Lei Xiaohui: ”...”

’Did Yao’Er have a personality transplant? It’s weird seeing her so serious all of a sudden. We’re not used to it.’

The three women were quite close, so it was only natural for them to share pillow talk.

...

With his Endurance Inscriptions enhanced, Li Xiang’s long-distance travel capabilities naturally improved as well.

Before, he could only maintain his Extreme Speed for forty or fifty minutes before needing to rest. Now, he could sprint for two or three hours without a break. ’Holy crap, can you even imagine that?’

An Extreme Speed of 20 Mach was 6.8 kilometers per second, 408 kilometers per minute, or 24,480 kilometers per hour. In two or three hours, he could circle the entire Earth with time to spare. Earth was practically his backyard.

His only regret was that he couldn’t use Flying. Still, at this speed, it was almost the same as low-altitude flight. He just couldn’t go into space.

This was because the first cosmic velocity is 7.9 km/s, and the second cosmic velocity is 11.2 km/s (the minimum speed needed to escape Earth’s gravity). Li Xiang’s current Extreme Speed was only 6.8 km/s, so he still couldn’t venture into space.

Perhaps he could give it a try once he reached the Saint Tier.

As for the third cosmic velocity, it’s the minimum initial velocity an object launched from Earth needs to escape the Sun’s gravitational pull and leave the Solar Element. This speed is 16.7 km/s.

Of course, this was just the minimum speed, the bare threshold. If he were to travel at that speed from Earth, it would take until the end of time to leave the Solar Element.
