My Apocalypse System Arrives 10 Years Early

Chapter 479: Chapter 320: Yuanyuan’s Difficult Birth, Yao Yao Displays Her Prowess

’Two heads are better than one,’ Li Xiang’s mind raced. ’Maybe Yao Yao and the others can help with their superpowers.’ He immediately thought of Yao Yao, Zhao Xueqing, and Lei Xiaohui.

He called Yao Yao right away and asked her to tell the other two to come over.

Even though it was the middle of the night and the three girls were fast asleep, Li Xiang’s call didn’t bring the slightest complaint. Instead, they rushed over, full of energy.

They didn’t even have time to change out of their pajamas, simply throwing on coats. The three had very different styles of sleepwear—one sexy, another alluring, and the last one cute—but Li Xiang had no time to notice. He immediately waved them over to help.

”Li Xiang, we’ve never delivered a baby before. We don’t have any experience,” Yao Yao said.

Zhao Xueqing and Lei Xiaohui nodded repeatedly. ’We’re still virgins,’ they thought.

”One of the babies inside has its umbilical cord in a knot. Yao Yao, why don’t you use your Transformation Technique and try reaching your hand inside?” Li Xiang said, glancing at her delicate, slender fingers.

”Huh?” Yao Yao was dumbfounded. ”Is that really okay?”

”It won’t hurt to try,” Li Xiang encouraged her.

Yao Yao froze for a moment, then steeled her resolve. She activated her Transformation Technique, and her delicate hands instantly became long and slender, almost like an octopus’s tentacles, but with fingers.

It was a rather suggestive scene. Zhao Xueqing and Lei Xiaohui, watching from the side, flushed bright red. Yao Yao, on the other hand, was surprisingly a little excited as she slowly guided her hands deeper inside...

”I finally understand what they mean when they talk about being ’a few fingers dilated.’”

After fumbling around for about a minute, Yao Yao said excitedly, ”I got it! It’s untied!”

Li Xiang saw sweat beading on her forehead and took out a tissue to wipe it for her.

Yao Yao’s excitement was plain to see. ”Thanks, Li Xiang.”

”But... I think the panda cub is a bit big, and Yuanyuan’s... birth canal seems a little narrow. I’m afraid it still can’t get out.”

Lei Xiaohui said, ”I’ve heard that in hospitals, they usually perform an episiotomy.”

”An episiotomy?” Everyone looked at her.

Lei Xiaohui stammered, ”It’s, it’s... where you make a small cut... down there, um... to make the opening wider and prevent tearing.”

”You can do that?”

”It’s a medical procedure, not something I made up,” Lei Xiaohui said, her face red.

Seeing that both Yao Yao and Lei Xiaohui had contributed, Zhao Xueqing couldn’t just stand by and watch. She volunteered, ”Let me make the cut. The thorns on my Vine Technique have an anesthetic effect, and the Spirit Dew Rain secreted by my Tail Vine Bud works wonders on external wounds.”

When Li Xiang nodded, she took out a dagger as white as jade—one of the pair of White Fang Daggers he had given her.

A vine manifested, and with a flash of cold light, Yuanyuan’s birth canal widened. At the same time, the anesthetic effect was immediate and localized, making Yuanyuan feel less pain.

”Push, Yuanyuan!”

”You can do it, Yuanyuan!”

”Keep going, it’s almost out! I can see the head!”

The three girls encouraged her, helped out, and took over the delivery.

Perhaps girls are just naturally better at this sort of thing, and more gentle.

Li Xiang, meanwhile, shooed the other three pandas away, leaving only Tuantuan by her side.

He used his Earth Superpower to construct a small, smooth stone nest on the spot. Then he took a large piece of soft cloth from his system inventory, folded it several times, and laid it inside the nest.

As the third weak whimper sounded, dawn was breaking. Three wet little cubs were placed in the nest lined with soft cloth, where they wriggled about. Their birth fur shimmered with a strange, pale gold color.

Li Xiang folded the extra cloth over them like a blanket.

The three little ones were incredibly cute, though their eyes were still sealed shut.

Li Xiang fed Yuanyuan some honey water mixed with Spirit Medicine Powder. Seeing the strength finally return to her tongue as it lapped at the spoon, he realized his own back was soaked in a cold sweat.

The three girls were in a similar state, their clothes drenched. This was especially true for Yao Yao. She had performed that difficult task earlier, and although she had used her Spiritual Power to shake off the fluids, she still felt sticky. She’d taken a moment to run to the backyard of Li Xiang’s house to wash her hands thoroughly with soap, then rushed right back. From all the running around, she was the most sweaty.

It wasn’t that the work was physically exhausting—it was pure nervous tension.

Once the three little cubs were born, Tuantuan, Tuantuan’s mother, Huanhuan, and Lele all gathered around, extremely curious about the new arrivals.

Not long after, Er Huang, the Little Fox, the two large geese, the three little cats, the little hedgehog, and the large rooster all came up the back mountain.

Seeing it was now daylight and villagers were already out and about in the distance, Li Xiang quickly told the animals to go back.

Li Xiang had already scanned them with his ”Mutant Creature Identification Function.” The litter of three all had Extraordinary potential: two were Tier Eighteen and one was Saint Tier, surpassing even their parents. It was a classic case of the student surpassing the master.

Also, while it was difficult to tell the cubs’ gender just by looking, Li Xiang could determine it with a sweep of his Spiritual Power.

One male and two females.

Now, Li Xiang had no preference for males over females; he treated them all equally and liked them all.

If he really had to state a preference, he actually leaned toward the female pandas. After all, opposites attract.

”Tuantuan, congratulations! You’re a father!”

”CHUFF, CHUFF...” Tuantuan danced for joy, absolutely ecstatic.

Although Yuanyuan had undergone the episiotomy, Zhao Xueqing’s Spirit Dew Rain was so effective that the wound had already healed completely, as if it had never been there before the birth.

Seeing that the three panda cubs were safe and sound, Li Xiang helped gather some fresh bamboo shoots and placed them in the cave before leaving with Yao Yao and the other two girls.
