My Apocalypse System Arrives 10 Years Early

Chapter 104: Chapter 97: A New Top Contributor

Even when things were delivered to her home, she had them left at the gate or had her housekeeper pick them up. The main gate of the villa’s courtyard was still a good distance from the front door of the house.

Luo Feifei had a special shelf by her gate just for delivery drivers. There were security cameras in the garden and at the entrance.

The name ”Pan Yiwen” was born from a bit of a mischievous wordplay. She chose ”Wen” because if Li Xiang was ”Reason” (理), then she would be ”Literature” (文).

She then changed her nickname in the fan group as well. It used to be ”Feifei,” but now she changed it directly to ”Aunt Wen.”

”I received your hairpins and bracelets. I love them.” After receiving the package, Luo Feifei used her ”Aunt Wen” account to add Li Xiang on WeChat and chat with him briefly. She was genuinely happy.

A full twelve Wooden Hairpins and six Golden Rattan Wood bracelets! She thought there would only be two hairpins; who would have thought there’d be so many? And every single piece was beautiful and exquisitely made; she could tell he had put a lot of care into them.

”I’m glad you like them,” Li Xiang said.

”Call me Little Aunt.”

Li Xiang: ”...I’m glad you like them, Little Aunt.”

”Haha, bye-bye, I have to get busy. Let’s talk next time.” Luo Feifei chuckled, covering her mouth, and immediately went offline. Because ”Little Aunt” had to get to work. She was off to film a scene.

Luo Feifei was quite professional. When filming, she was always immersed in her character and studying the script, not even playing on her phone during breaks.

Only after seeing that his Little Aunt had received the hairpins and bracelets did Li Xiang post the video he had recorded earlier.

He hadn’t livestreamed the process or posted the video immediately because he wanted to give his ”Little Aunt” a little surprise. He knew that Aunt Wen probably wasn’t short on money; what she lacked was people showing genuine care for her. It seemed his Little Aunt was indeed happy.

He had also made a few hairpins and bracelets for Jiang Cai’Er and his grandmother. For his grandma, he also made a wooden comb and a pair of hand-held meditative pieces.

Fiddling with these pieces was a great pastime for the elderly. It could train hand flexibility, relax muscles and joints, promote blood circulation, improve sleep, and even help prevent Alzheimer’s.

This pair of meditative pieces was a set of ’luck-turning beads,’ carved and polished from a single block of wood, smooth and pleasant to handle. But his grandmother’s favorite was still the wooden comb. Her previous comb was also made of wood, but it was one she had bought for a few yuan from a street stall. The vendor claimed it was peach wood, but how could that compare to a Golden Rattan Wood comb handmade by her own grandson?

The comb had a golden luster that looked festive at a glance, and it also had a very pleasant natural fragrance.

’As for where her grandson got the Golden Rattan Wood? The old lady didn’t think it was illegal for her grandson to go into the mountains, come across some, and chop off a few branches to bring back.’

In reality, what she didn’t know was that you couldn’t find it in ordinary mountains. If you did, it would be small saplings with owners who relied on them for income. You’d have to go to a Primeval Forest to find such huge, free branches.

Since he was already doing woodwork and had gotten into the groove, Li Xiang couldn’t stop. He decided to refit his Three-pronged Steel Fork with a new fork handle.

He used Red Fir Wood.

The biggest advantage of Red Fir Wood was its sturdiness, and it was the kind that could be used directly without any treatment.

He took a section of appropriate thickness and began to shave and plane it, sending wood shavings flying.

’If an ordinary carpenter saw this, they would be stunned. How can such hard Red Fir Wood be like cork in your hands?’

Red Fir Wood was indeed extremely hard. A palm-sized offcut he had sawn off earlier sank straight to the bottom like a Stone when he tossed it into the water tank.

But for Li Xiang, who could generate over 1,500 jin of force with a swing of his arms and had masterful, perfect control over his Power, the difficulty of the work hadn’t increased by much.

After being sanded smooth, a perfectly straight fork handle was complete.

He had experience, having made one out of Birch Wood before.

It had to be said, this Red Fir Wood was much better than the Birch Wood. For a fork handle of the same size, the Red Fir Wood one was much heavier. Li Xiang picked it up and swung it like a staff, and it whistled through the air with power.

This time, putting in a bit more effort, he went to Jiang Jianguo’s smithy. There, he personally forged a Gun Tassel from wrought iron and fitted it to the handle, which greatly improved the whole fork’s balance.

In ancient times, the Gun Tassel wasn’t just for counter-weighting; it also had functions like stabbing and serving as a horse tether.

For example, if a Long Spear accidentally broke and the spearhead flew off, you could turn it around and attack with the sharp-pointed Gun Tassel.

And if ancient soldiers with horses needed to dismount to rest or set up camp on a plain or in the wilderness, finding a hitching post was next to impossible. This was because greenery in most places in ancient times was actually much sparser than in the modern era. In that situation, they could drive the Gun Tassel deep into the ground, tie the horse’s reins to it, and it would immediately become a hitching post.

Once the Three-pronged Steel Fork was ready, Li Xiang summoned his Black Mountain Profound Armor. Fully armored, he brandished the Three-pronged Steel Fork, performing a short routine which he filmed. He looked a bit like a Demon King of Chaos.

After he posted the video, his fans showered it with likes, but some also joked, ”Brother Xiang, your Armor is gorgeous, but that weapon isn’t up to par. Using such an old-fashioned manure fork... even if you don’t get a Fangtian Halberd, you should at least get a Silver Spear and Iron Spear or something. That would be a worthy match for this majestic and domineering Armor.”

Li Xiang just laughed. ”Just make do with it. I use a manure fork because I’m a farmer. I have to work every day; can’t forget my roots.”

Someone asked, ”Brother Xiang, where’d you buy that Armor? Drop the link!”

Li Xiang explained, ”I made it myself.”

”Whoa, no way! Is it made of wild boar hide?”

After all, Li Xiang had hunted so many wild boars. If there was one thing he had plenty of, it should be boar hides. But in reality, Li Xiang had sold most of them, and he didn’t have many left.

Although the person’s guess was wrong, it was surprisingly close to the mark. This set of Armor was indeed a ”drop” from a ”Tier Twelve Super Black-Maned White-Toothed Beast.” As for whether it was actually the hide of a Black-Maned White-Toothed Beast, Li Xiang wasn’t sure either.

Li Xiang started another livestream. Aunt Wen didn’t show up, but He Zhixiang came to show his support, sending several expensive gifts and becoming the top-ranking supporter.

He Zhixiang even went on a video call with Li Xiang to express his solemn gratitude, saying that thanks to Li Xiang’s warning, his coffee plantation had suffered relatively little damage. His counterparts, on the other hand, had it miserable, with countless plants frozen to death or damaged by the frost.

Some fans had been following him since before the big snow. Hearing He Zhixiang bring up the old matter now, they recalled the event and were filled with emotion, feeling that Li Xiang’s prediction was practically god-like.

However, He Zhixiang’s top-supporter status didn’t last long. It was unexpectedly broken by a very special person.

It wasn’t Luo Feifei, but the leader of that group of city-dwellers from before.

The guy actually joined Li Xiang’s livestream this time, dropped eighty thousand yuan worth of gifts in one go, and invited Li Xiang to look him up if he ever came to the provincial capital.

Li Xiang was slightly stunned. He had previously thought the guy was from the county seat, not some young master from the provincial capital.

And He Zhixiang recognized him, too. He contacted Li Xiang privately and told him that this person was a young master with a very influential background in Sichuan Province. He Zhixiang had wanted to connect with him before but never had the chance.

”Brother Xiang, next time you go to Rongcheng, take me with you. See if you can introduce me,” He Zhixiang said with a wry smile. He knew of the guy, but the guy didn’t know him. He had been to the provincial capital of Sichuan Province on business several times before but had never been able to get a meeting. If he could get an introduction through Li Xiang, it might be a great help to his business in Sichuan Province.

Li Xiang was even more surprised. ”He’s that big of a deal? Alright, if I go, I’ll let you know in advance.”

He Zhixiang naturally thanked him profusely. He hadn’t expected that knowing Li Xiang would come with this kind of benefit.
