My Apocalypse System Arrives 10 Years Early

Chapter 97: Chapter 92: Tier Twelve Black-Maned White-Toothed Beast

When Jiang Jianguo and Li Yucheng saw the massive wild boar, they were both utterly stunned!

It was a sight unlike any they had ever seen.

Even Lei Jiaming, who had seen the boar before, couldn’t help but exclaim once more, ”This truly is a super Wild Boar King!”

Within the encirclement, a behemoth stared warily at the humans closing in. It rotated its body slowly and continuously, maintaining a defensive posture, because it was surrounded on all sides.

The dozen or so boars that hadn’t fallen into the traps followed close behind it, turning as the Wild Boar King turned.

The Wild Boar King’s tusks protruded at least 15 centimeters, and its four legs were incredibly thick, like car tires. If one was made into ham, a single leg would weigh well over a hundred pounds. Its rarity alone would make it extremely valuable.

”There should be 32 boars in this herd total. Seventeen fell into the traps, so there are still 15 out here,” Lei Jiaming explained.

Li Xiang nodded. Of those 15 boars, aside from the super Wild Boar King, there were five sows and nine half-grown young.

Seeing Li Xiang’s placid expression, which showed no hint of surprise, Lei Jiaming felt nothing but admiration.

In truth, Li Xiang came from the Apocalypse and had seen Demon Beasts as large as mountains. What was this little boar in comparison? A mere small fry.

Jiang Jianguo quickly maneuvered the drone, circling it above the boars to film them from various angles. Capturing a wild boar was such an exciting event that of course they had to record it—Xiang Ya needed to post on his social media account, after all.

The drone from Lei Family Gully also flew into position. They wanted to post a video too, though this time the star would probably be Li Xiang. But that was fine. Li Xiang drew a lot of traffic; they could just ride his coattails. ’Right,’ they thought, ’this is what you call a collaborative creation.’

At this moment, the team of city folk also caught up. With drones circling overhead, many of them raised their phones, snapping photos and exclaiming in amazement. They also felt a pang of regret that they weren’t the ones to personally capture such a colossal super Wild Boar King.

Seeing that Li Xiang and his group were just standing still, the team’s leader offered, ”Need any help? I’m quite skilled with my bow. I can take it down from a distance.”

Lei Jiaming scoffed and ignored him.

Lei Jiaming had already tried shooting it with his homemade bow, but the arrows couldn’t get through. The Wild Boar King’s hide was simply too tough and thick. An arrow might stick in it, but it wouldn’t go deep. The beast would just roll on the ground or rub against a tree, and the shaft would fall out. The ground inside the encirclement was now littered with arrows and bamboo spears.

Their original plan had been to kill the other boars first and deal with the big one last. However, they worried that once the rest of its herd was gone, the super Wild Boar King would have nothing left to hold it back and would charge berserkly to break through their lines.

Their Hunting Net was made of flexible steel cable. While it was sturdy, that was only in comparison to an ordinary boar. If this super Boar King charged, the net probably wouldn’t hold for long.

The Wild Boar King had likely adopted this defensive stance because it was unwilling to abandon its herd.

They had been in the middle of discussing their strategy when the city folk arrived, forcing them to halt their actions and deal with the interlopers first.

”Li Xiang, how should we catch it?” Lei Jiaming asked, looking to him for the final word. ’After all,’ he thought, ’Li Xiang is the expert here.’

The team of city folk also looked over. The female fan in particular stared with a burning intensity, extremely curious as to how Li Xiang planned to catch it. Would he wage a war of attrition, fight a protracted battle, or would he descend like a tiger from the mountain and subdue the boar with sheer force?

’But if he tries to take it on directly... Li Xiang seems so refined. Even though his explosive power is strong and he’s fast, this has to be a tough situation for him, right?’

Li Xiang gave a faint smile. ”How else? We just catch it directly.”

”Huh?”

Li Xiang pondered for a moment, then said, ”This boar is too dangerous. If we try to drag it back to the village and it goes berserk, people could get hurt. It’s better to just kill it here. Give me your spear.”

”You got it!” Lei Jiaming immediately handed his treasured weapon to Li Xiang.

Li Xiang took the spear and, with a great leap, jumped into the encirclement.

Holy crap! Everyone was stunned!

What an absolute madman. Not a single person present would have dared to jump in there. They were all thinking of staying outside, peppering the beast with arrows and spears—harassing it, herding it, and draining its stamina until it couldn’t run anymore. Only then would they go in for the kill.

And yet, Li Xiang jumped right in. By now, the super Wild Boar King had rested for quite a while and was full of energy and aggression.

Li Xiang landed within ten meters of the super Wild Boar King and activated his Mutant Creature Identification Function. The system immediately alerted him: ”Detected one Tier Twelve Mutated Creature: Black-Maned White-Toothed Beast.”

’Just one?’ Li Xiang was slightly disappointed; he had thought he might run into several.

At that same instant, the super Wild Boar King launched its attack, its hooves churning as it charged toward Li Xiang.

Li Xiang dodged in a flash, and the Black-Maned White-Toothed Beast crashed into a large, bowl-thick tree behind him. With a loud CRACK, the trunk snapped, and everyone gasped in shock.

The female fan was extremely worried for Li Xiang.

But her worry was misplaced. Li Xiang’s spear struck like a lunging dragon, plunging straight toward the boar’s heart.

HISS— A faint, clear light enveloped the spearhead. Spiritual Power flowed through it, pierced the beast’s hide, and in an instant, penetrated the boar’s heart, causing the behemoth’s ”engine” to grind to a halt.

The massive wild boar slowly collapsed.
