My Apocalypse System Arrives 10 Years Early

Chapter 93: Chapter 88: Boss Huang is Stunned, He Can’t Eat Anymore

The reason the ratio of young was off was that Li Xiang had only targeted the larger ones later on, letting the smaller ones go. It could be considered leaving a glimmer of hope for the wild boar population.

As for his haul of ”Mutated Creatures,” he had killed a total of 217 Mutated Creatures ranging from Tier Two to Tier Six, including over ten Mutated Black-Maned White-Toothed Beasts. He earned 6,510 Achievement Points and obtained 162 Mutated Spiritual Medicines of varying ranks from Tier Two to Tier Five. It was a bountiful harvest indeed.

It was worth mentioning that this Primitive Forest Reserve was home to a large population of Battang Dragon Lizards. They had been quite famous during the Apocalypse, having transformed from small lizards into ”Giant Dragons,” some even capable of breathing fire. But right now, this group of powerful ”Demon Beasts” was nothing but small fry. When Li Xiang dug them up, sixty or seventy of them were huddled together, hibernating in a cave.

Among these sixty or seventy, there were a good thirty or so ”potential Mutated Creatures.”

He had discovered several nests of similar small creatures. This trip was truly well worth it.

In addition, he had also harvested seven or eight large gourds. The gourd vines had long since withered, and the large, hard gourds hung from the dead vines, standing out starkly in the snowy woods. Li Xiang had loved these ”Immortal Gourds” since he was a child, so he picked them all, planning to take them home to make into ladles and wine flasks.

He could also save some of the seeds inside to plant a few in his backyard once spring arrived and the flowers bloomed.

Gourds are annual climbing herbs and merely Mortal Items, but they were very suitable for holding Spirit Wine.

What Li Xiang regretted about this mountain sweep was that he hadn’t encountered any Mutated Creatures above Tier Six. As a result, the highest reward he received was only Tier Five Spiritual Medicine.

Li Xiang guessed that the reason he was rewarded with Tier Five Spiritual Medicine for killing the Tier Ten Black-Maned White-Toothed Beast before was because of the pair of White Fang Daggers he also received.

The White Fang Daggers were Extraordinary Items of a rather high Level, and they were also the only Extraordinary Weapons Li Xiang had obtained so far.

He mulled it over. ’Perhaps only Middle to High Tier Mutated Creatures award Extraordinary Weapons. Low Tier Mutated Creatures, Tier Six and below, probably only give Spiritual Medicine and Achievement Points as rewards.’

Then, Li Xiang left the Primeval Forest, found the nearest provincial highway, and picked a spot with a small grove of trees by the roadside. He then called the owner of the restaurant.

Snow fell endlessly, and many expressways were still closed. Even on the provincial highway, there wasn’t much traffic. It was also early in the morning, and the spot Li Xiang had chosen was slightly remote, so he unloaded all the wild boars in the small grove.

He stood guard himself, unafraid of anyone trying to steal them.

The sight of over a hundred wild boar carcasses strewn across the ground was quite spectacular.

That Boss Huang was woken up by the phone call early in the morning, and he was quite grumpy about it, which was understandable. It was just past five o’clock, and the sky wasn’t even bright yet. Wouldn’t it have been nicer to stay warm and cozy in bed with a beautiful woman? But no, a phone call had to wake him up.

But when he saw it was Li Xiang calling, he got excited. He answered, and upon hearing the news—holy crap, 108 wild boars, 61 of which were large adults—Boss Huang was so shocked he leaped out of bed. ”That many?”

He sucked in a sharp breath and couldn’t help but ask, ”How on earth did you get so many wild boars?”

Li Xiang replied, ”I have my ways. Just tell me if you can take them or not. They’re definitely not poisoned; they’re healthy and edible.”

”I’ll take them! Of course, I’ll take them!” Boss Huang gritted his teeth and decided to buy the whole lot.

Although the quantity was a bit over his budget, wild boar meat was in high demand right now. The best course of action was to seize this opportunity to make a big profit. In a few days, when more wild boars appeared on the market and the weather cleared up, the price would definitely drop.

His business instincts were particularly sharp, which was why he was so eager to buy wild boars. Any more than this, however, would be too risky. He should be able to sell over a hundred of them before the market price fell.

”I’ll send my men over right away to weigh them on the spot. The total amount might be over my budget, but don’t worry, I’ll figure something out. I’ll get some cash from elsewhere and guarantee you get paid in full today.” Boss Huang proactively reassured Li Xiang, afraid he would back out and sell to someone else.

Li Xiang nodded and gave him the general location. ”Call me again when you’re nearby. Or just keep an eye on the side of the road. You’ll see a small grove of trees with a lot of wild boars laid out inside.”

”Okay, okay, see you in a bit.” Boss Huang decided to go over himself. After all, this was a massive deal worth hundreds of thousands.

The roads were slippery and difficult to travel on. Many sections were still covered in thick, uncleared snow.

The main issue was the snow that kept stopping and starting intermittently. At first, people were shoveling it, but eventually, the more remote areas were neglected. They simply couldn’t keep up.

Boss Huang drove an SUV himself, while a few of his men followed in a large semi-truck. They all had anti-skid chains on their tires. The distance was only seventy or eighty kilometers, but it still took them a full hour and a half to arrive.

When he arrived and saw the boar carcasses strewn all over the place, Boss Huang was utterly stunned, despite having been mentally prepared.

He greeted Li Xiang warmly with a handshake and a hug. After some pleasantries, he personally inspected the goods. Just as Li Xiang had said, the boars clearly hadn’t been poisoned. So, they began to weigh them.

They had brought a large platform scale and weighed the boars one by one. Li Xiang’s after-sales service was excellent; he proactively helped lift the pigs.

That’s right, he just *lifted* them.

The men Boss Huang had brought with him usually needed several people to haul the larger boars, but Li Xiang carried them over with just one hand, leaving them dumbfounded.

’What a badass. If he weren’t this incredible, he probably wouldn’t have been able to catch so many boars,’ Boss Huang mused, deeply impressed.

The final weigh-in results came in. There were 15 adult boars weighing over 400 jin each, with a total combined weight of 7,236 jin. Priced at 50 yuan/jin, the total came to 361,800 yuan.

The remaining three male boars weighed 1,109 jin, 43 female boars weighed 8,454 jin, and 47 piglets of various sizes weighed 3,281 jin. This came to a total of 12,844 jin. Priced at 20 yuan/jin, the amount was 256,880 yuan.

The final grand total was: 618,680 yuan.

Boss Huang took out three hundred thousand yuan in cash from his SUV and handed it to Li Xiang, saying, ”I don’t have that much cash on me at the moment. I’ll transfer the rest to you before four o’clock this afternoon. If you’re worried, we can sign a procurement agreement right here on the spot.”

The main issue was that the amount was too large, exceeding Boss Huang’s budget. Even a portion of this three hundred thousand in cash had been urgently brought over from somewhere else.

Li Xiang counted it briefly. There were thirty stacks of brand-new red bills, with no counterfeits. He smiled and said, ”I trust you.”

For one, Boss Huang seemed like a decent guy. For another, Li Xiang trusted in his own abilities. If the man tried to welsh on the payment, Li Xiang, as an Extraordinary Being who had survived the Apocalypse, had plenty of ways to handle him.

He then sent his bank account number to Boss Huang.

Although Li Xiang was smiling and looked harmless, Boss Huang inexplicably felt a shiver run down his spine. His heart skipped a beat, and he quickly added, ”I’ve always been a reputable businessman. My restaurant is at 86 Lingshan East Road. It’s been open in the county town for over twenty years, so you could even call it a time-honored brand. Don’t worry, I’ll absolutely pay the remaining balance today.”

’Boss Huang had a gut feeling that if I dared to default on the payment, I might die a horrible death. As a businessman, it wasn’t worth doing something like that. This Li Xiang had hunted so many wild boars in a single day; he’s definitely a formidable man.’

’Besides, Li Xiang has over a million fans now; he’s a bona fide influencer. I might even need to work with him in the future to advertise my restaurant. You know, invite him over for a meal and have him do a little promotion.’

When it was time to load the truck, Li Xiang offered to help. The main reason was that the others were moving too slowly for his liking. Having received so much money, he figured he might as well provide a little after-sales service.

Once their vehicles had driven off into the distance, Li Xiang disappeared back into the mountain forest. The three hundred thousand yuan in cash was, of course, stored in his system warehouse.

The wild boars were now cleared out of the warehouse, and all the residual dirt had been ”shaken” clean. All that remained were Spiritual Medicines, lumber, cash, and some bottled mineral water and dry rations.

Li Xiang didn’t get home until after nine o’clock. His grandmother just thought he had gone out for an early morning workout, so she didn’t think anything of it.

”Your Uncle Jiang and Uncle Yucheng came looking for you this morning. They wanted to know when you were going into the mountains,” his grandmother told him.

Because the weather was nice today, Jiang Jianguo and Li Yucheng had grown restless after resting at home for a day and a half. That’s why they had both come over early in the morning to ask.

”I’ll give them a call.” While eating breakfast, Li Xiang contacted his two teammates, who said they would come over to meet up right away.

And so, Li Xiang hurriedly finished his breakfast. Without even having a chance to rest, he relentlessly set off once again with Jiang Jianguo and Li Yucheng to go catch wild boars.
