Reborn at Boot Camp: General, Don’t Mess Around!

Chapter 4074: The Murderer

Editor: Henyee Translations

At first, Zhou Niannian said that other than her, it was normal for her family to be targeted. She had only started working and had not even encountered a big case, but she was already targeted by foreigners. Zhou Niannian herself found it unbelievable. Later, Zhou Niannian said that she did not have any enemies. Other than catching a few pickpockets, there was nothing else.

But what if Zhou Niannian was implicated because of Uncle Chen’s murder? What if a foreign organization had targeted her?

Wouldn’t this explain everything?

Ye Jian caught the crux of the matter. When she opened her mouth again, her voice was as cold as ice. “Major General, the female SWAT officer I helped tonight was on duty at the train station when my Uncle Chen was killed.”

On the other end of the cell phone, Major General Yang hadn’t gotten off work. After the Spring Festival, there were many things that needed to be decided. Major General Yang walked out of the military headquarters at midnight almost every day.

...
He was holding the receiver with one hand and reviewing documents with a fountain pen in the other. When he heard this, his facial expression turned serious. He asked in a low voice, “What do you wish to say?”

Little Ye must have discovered something. If not, she wouldn’t have suddenly mentioned it.

“Zhou Niannian encountered two foreigners shooting at her tonight. She told me that she hasn’t come into contact with any big cases or offended anyone since she took up her post. Unlike her parents and brother, she doesn’t have any enemies.

“She even told me that she couldn’t figure it out herself why a few foreigners were targeting her. She guessed that it might be her parents or her elder brother’s enemies.

“Major General, do you think it’s possible that these people attacked Zhou Niannian because she saw the murderer at the scene when Uncle Chen was killed?

“This can explain why Zhou Niannian was targeted by a few foreigners.”

Ye Jian slowly explained her suspicions. She sorted out the seemingly unrelated matters and found a common entry point. This way, the unrelated matters became related.

Zhou Niannian was shot at by two foreigners with guns. Zhou Niannian didn’t understand it herself. However, if this matter was overlapped with Uncle Chen’s case, everything would make sense!

After Ye Jian’s analysis, Major General Yang didn’t agree immediately. He put down the fountain pen in his hand and asked, “Who are Zhou Niannian’s parents? Who’s her big brother? Did you ask for this information just now?”

“I don’t know who her parents are, but she mentioned her brother, Zhou Huainan. She also mentioned that her mother said that countless lawyers hired by bad people were defeated by her mother’s iron ways.”

Ye Jian paused for a moment before continuing, “I have Zhou Niannian’s number. If you want to know, I can contact her immediately.”

“Okay! Contact Zhou Niannian now. Also, what you said is not unlikely. The two of them are being taken away by the SWAT team. They’ll be relatively secure there. Tell Zhou Niannian your guess. Since she’s a SWAT officer, her senses should be good.

“I’ll investigate who Zhou Huainan is first. From what she said, her parents and elder brother should have a certain status.”

Although what Ye Jian said was still a guess, Major General Yang was used to believing Ye Jian’s intuition. He knew that she wasn’t someone who spoke without thinking. The two matters didn’t seem to have anything to do with each other, but the biggest connection was that Zhou Niannian was on duty on the day Principal Chen was killed. She was the first SWAT officer to arrive at the scene.
