Death… And Me

Chapter 3952: Ximao Highly Doubted Them

”You see, a Balance Breaker causes Interference with the Celestial Plane’s Boundaries. The connection they establish with the Celestial Plane is so strong that it affects the Universes they are in, except when they own that Universe. But how many Universe Owners are there?” Krue’Suan explained.

Rean and Roan glanced at each other for a second. Here you have two of them, although the Universe they own is not this one but another, far, far away. Well, at least that meant they wouldn’t cause trouble for their own Universe if they returned.

”The risks are various, but the main issue is definitely the collapse of the Chaos Origin Source of a Universe. Have you heard about the limitations of maximum cultivation in a low-ranked Universe?” Not knowing what the twins were thinking, Krue’Suan asked that question.

Kentucky was the first to answer. ”You mean... how they can hold at most Semi-Celestial Realm experts. Real Celestial Realm Experts can’t enter unless they are the owner of that Universe. Is that it?”

Krue’Suan confirmed. ”You truly have done your homework, it seems. So, a Chaos Source is obviously the source of all energies of that Universe. However, the Celestial Plane Energy is something different that it can’t deal with very efficiently. The Celestial Laws are also the same. They are not laws from that Universe, thus contributing to the burden.”

”Wait!” Rean noticed something. ”That’s why Low-Ranked Universes rarely give birth to opportunities for their cultivators to absorb Celestial Laws! They naturally reject those things, so how could those opportunities appear frequently?!”

Let’s not forget that there were several ways for a cultivator to acquire the Celestial Laws for absorption. One of them, for example, was a tribulation, which was the case of the twins’ group.

Victor Rampel (Chapter 3682) told them that the lower the rank of the Universe, the harder it was for such opportunities to appear. However, he never told them why that was the case. Now, for the first time, Rean and the others understood the reason.

Krue’Suan confirmed. ”That’s precisely the issue. That also means the higher the rank of a Universe, the better its Chaos Source can deal with those foreign laws and energy. In fact, on Rank B and above Universes, you don’t have the restriction for Celestial Realm Experts. They can enter it and live inside normally. The Universe is strong enough to hold them.”

He continued. ”Balance Breakers, however, can affect even Rank A Universes, let alone Rank B. Their connection with the Celestial Plane, once again, is too strong. They can surpass the limits of what a normal Celestial Realm Expert can pull from the Celestial Plane. Putting it simply, a Balance Breaker can single-handedly destroy a high-ranking Universe.”

Rean and the others took a deep breath. Even Roan was surprised to hear that a single individual could make such a powerful Universe collapse on his own. ”No wonder you get rid of Balance Breakers. They are too dangerous. In the entire Werdlem Empire, there are only nine Rank A Universes, and losing a single one would be a huge loss that the Werdlem Empire isn’t willing to afford.”

Krue’Suan couldn’t agree more. ”That’s correct. So you see, in case you thought the Werdlem Empire was afraid of being overthrown or some shit, that is also true. However, above all, it is the fear of having the various universes in here destroyed.”

The twins truly couldn’t blame the Werdlem Empire for that approach. Most likely, all powers in the Great Void who had Rank B and above Universes did similar things. One life in exchange for the safety of an entire Universe, or various of them. The choice was obvious.

Krue’Suan then added some extra pieces of information. ”Now then, since you came from outside and had been to smaller universes, you noticed that none of them have the Judgemental Eyes, right?”

Everyone nodded and waited for Krue’Suan to continue. ”Well, small Universes have an advantage that big ones don’t. They don’t allow Celestial Realm Experts to enter in the first place. Naturally, even if a Balance Breaker appears there, he will have to leave if he wants to reach the Celestial Realm Cultivation Level.”

”As I said, the only exceptions are the Universe Owners. But because of their connection with their Universe, they don’t cause any burden to their Universe’s Chaos Origin Source. It won’t matter even if they are Balance Breakers. And before Balance Breakers reach the Celestial Realm, they can’t connect to the Celestial Plane in the first place. So it won’t matter if they live in those lower-ranked universes until they decide to leave to have their breakthroughs.”

Indeed. The twins’ group had truly never heard about the Judgemental Eye until they got to this Rank A Universe.

”Alright, now we understand the problem with the Balance Breakers,” Celis commented. ”But what about the two-million-year observation mode? That obviously means you are allowing the Balance Breakers to live during that period. Why?”

”For that, Ximao would be better to explain,” Krue’Suan turned in Ximao’s direction.

Ximao had been listening so far, nodding in response. ”Thank you. Now we are back to the initial issue, the fact that Balance Breakers are all, without exception, heaven-defying geniuses. Simply put, the top experts of the Werdlem Empire are the Balance Breakers. They must be, because those who wish to invade the Werdlem Empire also have their own Balance Breakers. Normal cultivators are just not their match unless they have a huge gap in cultivation as an advantage.”

Ximao looked at the twins. ”Just like what you did earlier. You obviously demonstrated a strength equivalent to a Divinity Realm Peak Stage Expert, and yet, you are still in the Space-Time Realm Middle Stage.”

Roan understood. ”I see... So this cycle of two million years is to keep the number of Balance Breakers in check. As long as they are born during the Observation Cycle, they can live and become the support of the Empire in the future. As for the Observation Period, it is simply to analyse during the various years of their early lives whether they would be a problem to the empire later on or not.”

”Exactly,” Ximao said, sighing. ”Do you remember what Caladara said? That no more than one Balance Breaker appears in all nine Rank A Universes combined over the period of one million years? So, at most, you would see two of them appearing during the two-million-year Observation Cycle of the Judgemental Eyes.”

”Yet, at the end of the day, even those who appear during the Observation Cycle will likely be eliminated,” Ximao added. ”Balance Breakers are necessary to make sure the Empire is a top power in the Great Void. But, at the same time, they are too dangerous. During the Observation Cycle, the Judgemental Eye will most of the time choose to eliminate them with a Golden Echo. The only ones who survive are the ones who proved to have the Werdlem Empire in their best interest without any shadow of a doubt.”

”Well, then that’s quite good for us,” Kentucky couldn’t help but comment. ”We truly don’t want anything to do with the Werdlem Empire, and we will be leaving as soon as we get the means to do so. We are as safe for the empire as safe could be.”

Rean, Roan, and Celis nodded in agreement. They shared Kentucky’s thoughts there. ”We won’t and don’t want to cause any trouble.”

Well, for some reason, Ximao highly doubted that... ”Ahem... anyway. That should have answered your previous question. Is there anything else you want to know?”

”Oh, right!” Rean was curious about it. ”What about those ’Peak Celestial Bodies’ you mentioned when Caladara was here? Can you tell us more about that?”

”Uh? You all have it and you don’t know?” Ximao was taken aback. ”S-Sure... that’s a rather easy one to answer.”
