Death… And Me

Chapter 3610: A Bunch of Grititis

*Zush, zush, zush, zush, zush...*

As soon as Rean said that, many experts rushed over, blocking their path. Elsie wasn’t the only one who remembered Rean’s words from back in the lake. Perhaps Rean’s group truly had a way to enter the portal, and they couldn’t let them go that easily this time. ”What are you planning, little boy? You better speak if you want to get close to the portal.”

”So, as long as I don’t get close to the portal, it is fine, right?” Rean asked back with a smile, and then... he walked away from it. ”So be it. Everyone, let’s go.”

Roan crossed his arm and followed. Elsie and Royer, as puzzled as they could be, did the same. As for Rifindio, Kentucky, and Celis, they had a rough idea of what Rean wanted to do.

Everyone observed as Rean walked back, and they began to go around the portal. Naturally, those who stopped him earlier noticed that and changed position, their eyes fixed on Rean and his companions.

However... Rean didn’t go to the portal after going around. Instead... ”Master, I’m counting on you to shield us again.”

Royer would cry if he could. Shield them? He couldn’t shield anyone. Rean only said that so all the attention would gather on him. Well, he already got this far, so complaining now made no sense. He simply pretended to spread his Divine Energy around his group... and they walked away.

Yes, Rean had no intention of using that portal at all. It was obviously something even Kentucky, who had the best control over space in their group, couldn’t do anything about. Since that’s the case, why wait in this place? They might as well continue to walk forward. By using the Time Manipulation of the area and his Light Element, Rean knew exactly what direction he had to go without getting himself lost.

’You said it yourself, didn’t you?’ Rean smiled at Royer, who looked obviously confused. ’The portals aren’t the only way to enter other regions. You could also simply walk from one region to the next. Well, why not give it a try? If we find nothing, we can always go back. Worst case scenario, we wait ten years, and then we go out of the Golden Palace. It’s that simple.’

Right! Royer felt like an idiot. He was indeed the one who told the twins about that, and he wasn’t lying. The methods to go from one region to another aren’t limited to just one. Even back in the Molten Ocean, Royer was certain there were other ways, and some might have found them. ’Good! Good! This way, we don’t have to stay near the other groups. Why take the path of higher risk, especially since we don’t even know if that path will open or not? Hahaha! Great idea!’

Everyone felt excited as well. Their group had one huge advantage the others probably didn’t, Rean and Kentucky. With these two around, there was no reason to worry about being caught by the time trap. If the time manipulation changed up ahead, they would immediately notice as the light reaching their eyes would change as well.

Grititi was added to this conversation this time since there were no secrets involved. Even he had to admit Rean’s idea wasn’t bad. It’s just that it was also a gamble. Perhaps staying by the portal’s side was the best choice, but no one could tell if that was the case either. Between the gamble of leaving and the gamble of staying, why not take the one with the lowest amount of risk? He was feeling happier and happier about being captured by the twins’ group. That was especially so since he was pretty sure he would have been one of the victims of the Time Trap back then.

*Tud, tud, tud, tud, tud...*

Suddenly, another group approached Rean and the others from behind. Naturally, the twins’ group turned around, ready to fight if anyone suddenly got some weird ideas.

Yet, that group didn’t really come straight to them. Instead, they stopped a few tens of meters on the side. ”Would you mind some company?”

Roan’s eyebrow rose a little. That group was none other than Hian’s group of Purple Sponge Bettas. In fact, it was truly only them this time.

Let’s not forget that inside Hian’s Self-Defense Globe, there were a total of thirty experts. The Purple Sponge Bettas only counted for ten of those thirty members, as the rest were three groups from three different Universes. This time, however, Hian was not bringing the rest that came with him in the Self-Defense Globe.

Well, that made sense since Hian’s Bettas just happened to fall in the same Globe as those guys. Why should they care about the rest now that the Globe had no use anymore? Thus, only his group of ten Bettas came, counting himself.

”That’s a sudden change of heart, don’t you think?” Roan asked Hian.

Hian faintly smiled, calm as ever. ”You just showed an obvious choice I failed to grasp initially. Of course, if you feel like we shouldn’t go together, we can go separate ways here.”

Roan shook his head. ”That’s not what I meant. Why would you want to go with us now after you chose to leave us behind in the previous region? Didn’t you think us to be too dangerous?”

”I still do,” Hian nodded. ”But different from before, I can’t stop you from doing what you want unless we fight directly. Since that’s the case, I might as well stay close. I told you I trust my instincts, and my instincts are saying that your idea is the best approach. My instincts rarely fail me.”

The twins’ group all looked at Roan, who just let it be. ”Let them do whatever they want. We don’t even know if they can keep themselves safe from the Time Trap anyway, and we are definitely not helping. Besides, if the need appears, we can use them as bait and run away. Basically, they are all a bunch of Grititis.”

Grititi’s mouth twitched. He began to reconsider if he should really kill Rean first and instead go for Roan if the chance appeared.
