Death… And Me

Chapter 3450: Gaining an Extra

Roan, on his side, gave Rean a warning before he did anything. ’Whatever you intend to do, you better make it fast. I want to get over with this.’

’Don’t worry,’ Rean nodded. ’If what I think works, I can help Saria, and we won’t lose a single day.’

Roan narrowed his eyes, but after hearing Rean’s idea, he decided to stay quiet. It probably would work, indeed.

Rean then held Glorandal’s shoulder.

’Life Style, Instant Recovery!’

The huge burst of Light Element immediately rushed into Glorandal’s body, and he finally understood why Saria had felt ’so good’ before. Fortunately, he was experienced and much better at controlling his emotions. Otherwise, he might have suffered the same fate as Saria did. That was the result of using Rean’s skill on someone who didn’t have any injuries to start with.

A few moments later, Rean removed his hand. ”Alright, did you feel anything out of the norm?”

Glorandal closed his eyes and tried to feel his bloodline. As his cultivation was much higher, his Divine Sense could see his condition in much greater detail than Saria. He sat down, and kept observing for a while when suddenly, his eyes opened wide. ”There it is!”

”Really?!” Saria was overjoyed to hear that. ”Elder, can you truly feel your bloodline changing?!”

Glorandal nodded, excited. It was very tiny, something that he would never have noticed had he not paid extremely close attention and knew exactly what he was looking for. Just like Saria, it would have taken years for him to start to truly feel any differences. ”Yes, I can see that my bloodline is now transforming at a very, very slow pace. Nonetheless, it is there, and it is heading in the same direction as yours, Saria. This is so great! Our elf race can truly take a step forward!”

Rean was obviously satisfied to hear that. He can help Saria now that he knows his Light Element made that change. ’How is it, Sister Orb?’

[Yes, I paid very close attention to your Instant Recovery skill and this guy’s bloodline. You were right. Your Celestial Bloodline is what caused the disturbance in these elves’ bloodlines. Their evolution happened because your Light Element has some Celestial Laws Traits that come from not only your Celestial Bloodline but also your Celestial Soul.]

’Laws, uh...?’ Rean couldn’t use laws due to his cultivation at the moment, but he had interacted with them a lot before coming to the Werdlem Empire. ’Would my, Roan, and Kentucky’s Bloodline cause such changes to everyone who has a bloodline now?’

[No,] Sister Orb immediately rejected that idea. [The only reason it caused such a change to their bloodlines is because they are truly, truly very compatible with those Celestial Laws of yours and especially Light Element.]

’What about Rifindio?’ Kentucky asked. He knew Rifindio’s bloodline also changed, and they weren’t close at all.

[Rifindio’s bloodline also changed a lot because of Kentucky’s Regal and then Celestial Bloodline, but that’s because Rifindio took Kentucky’s bloodline directly into his body. Simply put, what Rifindio experienced was not an evolution but an alternative hybridization. It’s completely different. Kentucky could use Rean’s Instant Skill on Rifindio’s body countless times, and no change would occur. These elves are truly a special case. Their bloodline is really one with Light Element to a fault.]

Rean didn’t forget how the Elves Bloodline Cells even had Light Element as part of their building structure. ’That’s good then. The last thing I need is to be afraid of causing everyone to evolve just because I used my healing on them.’

Glorandal got up, looking at Rean with hope. ”Please, you have to give us at least a little bit of your time. We will pay you!”

Rean snorted. ”On the contrary, you should strive to keep this change as hidden as possible. No one can know that you are having this evolution, and the fewer members of your race who get this change, the better.”

”This...” Glorandal was taken aback.

Rean continued. ”An evolution of bloodline? Do you know what it means to the power balance of the various regions of the Divine Snow World where the Elves live? You already don’t have that many members, and you want to stand out? I say, your race must be looking to die and die very fast.”

Glorandal went silent. Not because of what Rean said but because he had heard those same words from the other higher-ups of the Elf Race. ”Yes, we are aware of this possibility.”

Rean faintly smiled. ”Okay, here’s what I can do for you. Find me a hundred members of your Elf Race, half men, half women, those who truly wish to go through this breeding idea of yours. Get them a hidden place where they can live and procreate for the long term. Then, have these elves spread slowly and seamlessly. This is your best choice to little by little, increase your elf race’s power without anyone noticing.”

”But that would take forever!” Glorandal couldn’t help but complain. How many tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of years would that cost for the bloodline to spread?

”Take it or leave it!” Rean crossed his arms with a serious expression. ”As far as I’m aware, it is up to me to help you or not. Or could it be you wish to try something against the direct disciple of Rean Lotan?”

”I wouldn’t dare, I wouldn’t dare...” Glorandal didn’t need to hear that twice. No doubt Rean would pass the news to his master. Once that happened, no one would be able to stop Lotan from spreading the news about the elves’ bloodline evolution. Lotan was too strong to be eliminated, different from Rean. Unless... Rean asked Lotan not to say anything to anyone. In any case, Lotan would be the ultimate shield that would guarantee the elves would never try to kidnap Rean or try anything crazy like that.

Glorandal then looked at Saria, his eyes pleading at her.

Saria felt angry, though. A moment ago, she was to become the breeding machine. Still, that was her race, and the race’s need was above her own. ”Rick... can you at least double or triple that number?”

Glorandal looked back at Rean with expectation.

Rean pondered a bit before smiling. ”Rank Seven Divine Stones. I want a hundred Rank Seven Divine Stones for each extra elf passing the hundred number.” Well, Rean wasn’t a saint, so he might as well rip them off.
