The Villain's Story

Chapter 874: Hybrid Monster.

As [Dominatus] suppresses the Gene Factors to avoid destruction by the Weave, the Skill comes to a realization. The Gene Factors of the three prime species are too valuable to suppress and let one dominate over the other simply.

The Mind, the Body, and the Soul, if harmony is achieved among them and the factors are allowed free, it will give birth to the strongest organism ever. [Dominatus] is the final line of defense Alan has; however, that is not its sole purpose. It is a skill capable of identifying what is helpful to the existence of Alan Peccator as well.

It has a weird way of determining whether a threat exists when malice is not involved. If malice is involved, pure malice, then [Dominatus] destroys the threat in an instant. Things change if the threat is unable to contain malice and is merely doing what it is supposed to do.

If such a thing happens, the skill enters an evaluation phase. It tries to understand the threat, instead of eliminating it in the instant. The only reason why the Gene Factors still existed in Alan was that they were incapable of malice, simply doing what they were supposed to do.

Fight and compete with one another, regardless of what happens to the host. That is their purpose, as programmed by the Weave. Dominatus, despite its young age, is capable of seeing the true potential of the three gene factors if they are to collectively merge and stop fighting one another. However, how does it accomplish this?

It is capable of suppressing the gene factors, but is it capable of merging them? While it does realize the possibility of doing so, it is unable to do so.

The Weave, at the current moment, is too much for the young skill. A single Unique Skill cannot combat the one thing that creates and defines the structure of the Universe, the life of every being in that universe.

The difference in power is simply too vast. However, fortunately for Dominatus, it is not supposed to do so. Its job was merely to suppress the Gene Factors and create an entrance to the Weave.

The job of combining the gene factors completely was someone else’s job.

-----

The inside of the Weave is an immense valley of golden energy. Fate, in its true form, is a trillion threads so tightly interwoven with one another. A network of lines that determines the fate of countless beings and their interactions with one another. It is incomprehensible; no being can understand it fully, all except one.

The only man to possess the Unique Skill, [Fatipu], and not be driven insane by it. The only one capable of understanding it and devising ways to utilize its natural course. Using it to his advantage.

But how about here? All that James did in the past was merely glance at it from afar, but now? He was in the center of it; he was inside the very thing that determined everything.

Dominatus had done its job. All it had to do was collide with the Weave once, and then move to suppress the Gene Factors. James’s job was to utilize the collision with the Weave and Dominatus to find an entrance to the Weave.

And he had done it, but he could not perceive normally. Nothing existed in the weave other than information of every existence. It did not carry light, oxygen, or even any form of energy. There was no perception in the weave, unless, however, [Fatipu] was used.

The unique skill capable of deciphering the Weave, the one notorious for having driven all previous mad. James wondered what would happen to him; he didn’t really suffer from madness whenever he used Fatipu, although it was a hell of a strain on his mind.

Was it because he was already mad? He honestly had no clue. He had an idea, though, of what would happen the moment he used Fatipu.

An infinite influx of information.

About an infinite area of space, about an infinite number of beings, about an infinite number of things, about an infinite number of times.

His job was to find the existence of Alan Peccator in all of that infinity, and then change it. A smirk appeared on his face as he calmed himself down, faced with that insurmountable challenge.

It should be ok, shouldn’t it? He had already done the same thing in Alan’s soul, mind, and body; he now just had to do it in his existence. He just had to rewrite it.

He took a deep breath, or at the very least, imitated the action to do so, and activated his unique skill. If sweat could exist in the Weave, James would be drowning in it.

[Skill: Fatipu has been activated.]

He did not hear the notice; he did not even see it. All he experienced was the infinite influx of information. Outside the Weave, Fatipu was only able to peek at it. Inside? It was capable of seeing it as a whole.

His fingers began to twitch, his head began to shake violently, his feet and legs were everywhere, His eyes began to twitch, but even then. There was focus, there was drive.

Withstanding an infinite influx of information, about an infinite area of space, about an infinite number of beings, about an infinite number of things, about an infinite number of times, James searched through the Weave, finding Alan Peccator’s existence.

Normally, two hours passed, but normal was not the norm here, and neither was it in James’s existence, who knew exactly how much time passed in his head? How much of infinity had passed? Did he even find what he was looking for? Did he do what he had set out to do?

No one was able to know. No one was even able to deduce it. Only he was able to withstand it.

And even then, enduring all of that, even though his body was convulsing, there was a certain stillness to it. A stillness unlike any other...

There was a stillness in that convulsing body, as if he was still in control and above all that, there was a damn smile on his face all the time.
