The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 2429: Chapter 2429: Gift Giving (1)

Yang Ruxin immediately knew that Hao Jian and Qin Shou had arrived. These two also attended school, but since they are from business families and the only sons at home, they can’t always be away; they need to be involved in family matters. Usually, they can only take a few days a month for classes.

The new semester has already started, but these two kids haven’t attended classes yet.

However, there are reasons for it.

Before the end of the year, Hao Jian’s father accidentally broke his leg, so the young man had to go back and take charge of the situation. With such a big family and so many shops, it’s naturally not easy to manage. Fortunately, according to him, his cunning old man only hurt his leg and did not injure his brain, so his advice from the back seat was still useful. As a result, the kid didn’t come over to play for the New Year, but he sent a generous gift over.

As for Qin Shou, it was because his grandmother fell ill. As the only grandson, he naturally had to return to take care of her. His father certainly wouldn’t miss the chance to torment his son, saying he wanted to pray for his grandmother, then took his mother to the mountains for a vegetarian retreat, leaving all the Qin Family matters to the son. The kid barely had time to eat, spent every day looking at account books, and when sending New Year’s gifts, he had the servant complain to Yang Ruxin, saying he lost two pounds in half a month.

Today, these two brothers in misfortune actually showed up together? Have they been released?

However, they weren’t placed right in front of Yang Ruxin like before; they were stopped three steps away.

”Sis Ruxin, are you really having a baby?” Qin Shou looked at Yang Ruxin’s belly in awe.

”You can see it, so why ask?” Hao Jian rolled his eyes at Qin Shou. ”Sis Ruxin, is it a boy or a girl?”

”Are you dumb? The baby hasn’t been born yet,” Qin Shou rolled his eyes back.

”Alright, you two.” Yang Ruxin quickly waved her hand. ”Did you come for something today?”

”Of course, we heard Sis Ruxin is pregnant, so we came to give gifts.” Hao Jian quickly waved, and four servants standing at the door walked over in pairs, carrying two large lacquered boxes inside.

”And mine, too.” Beast hurriedly called his people over. ”My mother said, Sis Ruxin might not need anything, but it’s a tradition, so she asked Sis Ruxin not to mind.”

Each family sent two large boxes, and since they didn’t know if it was a boy or a girl, there was one box for a boy and one for a girl.

Inside were little shoes, jackets, pants, and hats, as well as small quilts and blankets, each box arranged with four seasonal sets with different colors and patterns.

In fact, the tradition of ”Give Soup Rice” exists in later generations too, where after the child’s birth, neighbors and close friends would send fabric, millet, brown sugar, etc. to symbolize the child being supported by the community. The host family would give red boiled eggs to the gift-givers.

But in this era, it differs from later generations, as during pregnancy, good friends and neighbors send shoes, socks, clothes, etc., symbolizing wrapping the child, hinting at a good upbringing, and after the child’s birth, they no longer send clothes but millet, eggs, brown sugar, pastries, etc.

The Fang Family had long sent the four-season clothes handmade by Yuan Mengzhu.

Upon finding out, people from the village also sent clothes, small shoes, and others whose embroidery wasn’t good sent pieces of red cotton cloth.
