The Fierce Farm Girl Has A Secret Space

Chapter 721: Chapter 721: Not Stopping (Part 2)_1

Yang Ruxin’s eyes flashed for a moment, ”Are these your people?” She knew Gu Qingheng must have had support behind him, otherwise, things likely wouldn’t have gone so smoothly, but she hadn’t expected that he would hand over his backing forces directly to her.

”To be exact, they are people my maternal grandfather left for me,” said Gu Qingheng with a smile, ”Without them, I probably wouldn’t have been able to escape alive...”

Yang Ruxin frowned slightly.

”My maternal family... has somewhat unique circumstances, I’ll tell you more when the time comes,” Gu Qingheng said with a smile, ”For now, just keep this in mind, and if you need anything, feel free to use those people...”

”Alright,” Yang Ruxin didn’t refuse further, ”By the way, where’s Ayao?”

”I sent him to handle something, he should be back by evening...”

Yang Ruxin didn’t press any further questions. After a quick lunch, she sorted the gifts she had brought back, delegating a portion for Sanni and Zhou Xiao to deliver, and some she planned to deliver personally.

”Xinxin,” Xun Hui started hesitantly as she watched Yang Ruxin bustling about.

Yang Ruxin looked up at Xun Hui, ”You’re not going to ask me to go deliver something to the old house, are you?”

”I...” Xun Hui clasped her hands together, twisting in hesitation before finally speaking up nervously, ”After all, they are the elders...”

”I’ve broken off relations with them,” said Yang Ruxin with a laugh, ”But our family isn’t lacking anything. If you want to go, go ahead and deliver it yourself, I won’t stop you, but I’m not going.”

After finishing her words, she picked up several gifts and left the house.

A faint sigh from Xun Hui could be heard behind her.

Carrying gifts into the village, Yang Ruxin met many people along the way. Whether they had an old relationship or not, everyone greeted her with smiles. Yang Ruxin understood that seeing her prosperity, they hoped to come to work for her, which was natural human behavior. She didn’t take it negatively, greeting everyone cheerfully but not engaging in long conversations.

After visiting a few familiar households and even giving Aunt Hehua a check-up, finding her doing quite well made the whole family incredibly happy.

Seeing those who treated her well living comfortably naturally filled Yang Ruxin with joy. She declined the invitations to stay longer and eventually arrived at the village head’s home.

”Girl, you’re back,” exclaimed Yang Laoxiang with a smile as soon as Yang Ruxin walked in, ”I was actually looking for you yesterday, but you had gone to the county town.”

”I went for a drink to celebrate the Lord County Magistrate’s father’s sixtieth birthday,” Yang Ruxin spoke casually, then set down what she was holding, ”These two bags of pastries are from the Lord County Magistrate’s chef. Try them with the second madam; the bolts of fabric are from the magistrate’s wife...”

”You’re really something else,” Yang Laoxiang remarked with a sigh.

Yang Ruxin just smiled. If he knew that Prince No. 8 and Prince No. 10 had even come to her place, would he have knelt down to them in a hurry?

”Let’s talk business. These days, I and your uncles have got our hands on approximately three mules and two donkeys with good teeth. However, in total, they will cost fifty silver,” he said.

”If the village head has approved, then it’s settled,” Yang Ruxin made the decision, ”Go ahead and buy them. It just so happens that we can have Brother Rulin and the others make some time to assemble the carts. Once this batch of furniture is finished, it can be directly shipped out...” A flash of inspiration struck her mind. If the carts were to deliver furniture to Beijing, they would be empty on the return journey. Couldn’t they bring things back from Beijing? In that case, maybe she could open a store selling southern and northern goods in the county town?
