Beauty Chairwoman’s Bodyguard Expert

Chapter 1696: Chapter 1689: Shen Family Crisis

”Mr. Yitian, we are here.” A short, frail old man, only about 1.34 meters tall, with a sinister face, stepped out from the group of ninjas and spoke to the middle-aged man in flawless Japanese.

”Mr. Yamaki, take your Shadow Assassins inside and clear all obstacles. Remember, this time we can only succeed, not fail. We must obtain the gene enhancement technology at all costs. As for the members of the Shen Family, apart from Shen Manjun and her daughter, the rest can be killed without mercy.” Shankou Kiyotaka said grimly.

”Yes, Mr. Yitian, leave it to me. This time I’ve sent in the top experts from the assassin group, capable of slaying even those in the Early-stage Mythical realm. Nothing will go wrong.”

The frail old man Matsushita Yamaki nodded heavily and waved his hand forward.

The dozen or so ninjas wasted no time, forming seals with their hands. Accompanied by a burst of white smoke, their figures completely vanished, followed by the sound of them breaking through the air as they disappeared.

”Mr. Yitian, are you truly confident in obtaining the gene enhancement technology from Shen Manjun this time?” Matsushita Yamaki asked Shankou Kiyotaka solemnly.

”There’s no room for doubt; we must seize the gene enhancement technology. Don’t forget what our leader told us—if we fail this time, we can only commit seppuku. Do you wish to perform seppuku or die at the hands of our leader?”

Shankou Kiyotaka sneered, his eyes lighting up with a fierce intent to kill.

”Our leader!”

Upon hearing this, Matsushita Yamaki couldn’t help but shiver, his eyes filled with deep fear, evidently terrified of their leader.

”Enemy attack...”

At that moment, a voice infused with True Qi rolled like thunder throughout the Shen Family Mansion, echoing piercingly through the silent night.

”This is bad; the Shen Family has experts. Mr. Yitian, we have no choice but to force our way in.”

Upon hearing this voice, Matsushita Yamaki blanched with embarrassment. He had just boasted about sending top-tier assassins, only for them to be discovered right away—a complete and utter humiliation.

Shankou Kiyotaka’s face suddenly changed upon hearing the voice, casting a sharp glance at Matsushita Yamaki but saying nothing. Instead, the two rushed directly toward the Shen Family Mansion, a mission that could not fail; otherwise, the only thing awaiting them was death.

Meanwhile, inside the villa, dazzling lights illuminated the spacious front courtyard, shining brightly. Shen Manjun sat on the sofa, her originally delicate and beautiful face now filled with severity, devoid of any smile. Her entire being exuded an aura cold as ice; the Shen Family must not lose this time, for if they did, not a single member would survive.

”Miss Shen, someone has broken in from outside. They’re using Ninjutsu, likely from Japanese ninjas. What should we do next?”

At this moment, the Great Elder of Shen Family hurriedly entered, his face similarly tinged with an unavoidable gravity.

”Great Elder, do you think we can hold them off?” Shen Manjun asked solemnly.

”I don’t know. The adversary is strong, with more than a dozen top-tier ninjas in the Mythical realm and some samurai. Although our people are elite, finding a ninja’s trail quickly is tough. A slight misstep, and it could mean death at their hands.” The Great Elder said, eyes heavy, admitting that despite his disdain for the Japanese, the Five Elements Escape Technique, evolved into Ninjutsu, possesses unique strengths.

”I understand, Great Elder. We’re going out.”

Shen Manjun suddenly stood up from the sofa, ”Great Elder, also inform everyone to retreat; no need for unnecessary sacrifices. Have them all fall back to the hall.”

”Miss Shen, you...”

The Great Elder’s face changed abruptly upon hearing Shen Manjun’s words, but before he could finish, Shen Manjun cut him off, saying, ”Great Elder, you mentioned earlier that their Ninjutsu is beyond formidable; dealing with them is problematic. Instead of being isolated and defeated, let’s gather all our strength and fight them to the end.”

”Alright, Miss Shen, I’ll arrange it right now.”

The Great Elder nodded, promptly giving loud orders through his wireless earpiece.

Simultaneously, Shen Manjun showed no hesitation, rising from the sofa and striding swiftly toward the outside.

Meanwhile, with the addition of a Peak of Mid-stage Mythical Ninja, it became a one-sided massacre. The ghostly attacks executed one person after another, blood spraying into the air, shockingly gruesome, permeating the air with a thick, nauseating stench.

”Group Leader Yamaki, the enemy has started to retreat.” Just then, a ninja appeared before Matsushita Yamaki, speaking respectfully.

”Hmph, it seems Shen Manjun has some self-awareness and knows fear. Let’s go meet her.” Before Matsushita Yamaki could speak, Shankou Kiyotaka interjected.

”Mr. Yitian, could this be a trick? Those Chinese love playing conspiracy games.” Matsushita Yamaki said, his expression serious.

”Yamaki-kun, you’re being too cautious. With you here, a mere Shen Manjun can’t stir up much trouble.”

Shankou Kiyotaka coldly smiled, said nothing more, and led the way towards Shen Manjun’s living room. Matsushita Yamaki glanced around but followed Shankou Kiyotaka inside.

Following Shen Manjun’s orders, Shankou Kiyotaka and his men encountered no obstacles, not even a single person blocking them. They reached the front of the living room, standing about ten meters away from Shen Manjun and others, exchanging glances.

”Miss Shen, nice to meet you. Today’s visit may be a bit abrupt, I hope Miss Shen doesn’t mind.” Shankou Kiyotaka looked at Shen Manjun, speaking fluent Mandarin, but his eyes brazenly roamed over Shen Manjun, gleaming with a green hue, almost like he wanted to strip Shen Manjun naked.

”Who are you?”

Shen Manjun gazed at Shankou Kiyotaka, her eyes flashing with cold light.

”Oh, nearly forgot to introduce myself. I am Shankou Kiyotaka.” Shankou Kiyotaka smiled as he spoke.

”Shankou Kiyotaka.”

Hearing the name, Shen Manjun was first slightly startled, then seemed to remember something, and said solemnly, ”You’re from the Shankou family.”

Shen Manjun was naturally very familiar with the Shankou family. She had previously encountered many assassins, suspected a certain Japanese power at play, and sent people to Japan to investigate, though no answers were found. However, she had some understanding of the Japanese power distribution. Shankou Kiyotaka was a key member of the Japanese Shankou family. His brother, Shankou Ikoh, was the clan leader, rumored to have reached the Late Stage of Mythical.

”Haha, so Miss Shen knows me. This truly makes me feel honored.”

Yamamoto Ichiro smiled faintly, but a chilling killing intent flashed in his eyes: ”Miss Shen, since you know my identity, let’s be straightforward. I have only one request for coming here today: hand over the genetic enhancement data. Furthermore, I must trouble Miss Shen to come with us. We can guarantee no harm to anyone here. Otherwise, very few might survive today. Miss Shen, I’m sure you don’t want to see so many innocent people sacrificed!”

”You wish! The genetic enhancement data will be destroyed before handed over to you Japs.”

Without a second thought, Shen Manjun resolutely refused.

”Miss Shen, why must you do this! You’re a businesswoman, and as you Chinese say, business is about profit. I can make the decision to offer Miss Shen enough money to purchase this technology. Moreover, if Miss Shen is willing to come with us to Japan, we could have the Emperor set up a genetic research institute for you, granting you a status second only to one person above thousands.”

”Second only to one, above thousands? Shankou Kiyotaka, do you take me for a fool? Admittedly, I am a businesswoman, but not every businesswoman pursues profit. This data would rather be destroyed than handed over to you Japs. Give up on that notion.”

Shen Manjun spoke icily, ”Even if I die, I’ll die standing, rather than kneeling as a dog.”

Upon hearing Shen Manjun’s words, Shankou Kiyotaka’s previously smiling face suddenly twisted, becoming hideous, his voice tinged with harsh ruthlessness: ”Refusing a toast in favor of penalty liquor, Miss Shen, since you’re unwilling, don’t blame me. Kill.”

As soon as Shankou Kiyotaka’s voice fell, the ninjas behind him, Matsushita Yamaki included, charged towards Shen Manjun without hesitation.

”Lao San, protect the young lady. Everyone else, fight with me.”

The Great Elder shouted at an elder beside Shen Manjun, then charged forward without hesitation. His True Qi roared like a tide, soaring into the sky, immediately engaging Matsushita Yamaki. Clearly, he knew Matsushita Yamaki was the strongest among them, and if not restrained, everyone here would perish.

Seeing the Great Elder take action, those around did not hesitate, their True Qi roaring like tides, soaring into the sky, entangling with the ninjas. The whole front yard rapidly transformed into a battlefield, with exquisite decorations all around instantly demolished.

Currently, Shen Manjun and her people didn’t notice a small head peeking through the curtain of a second-floor room, secretly watching the fierce battle outside, face painted with sheer terror. Yet stubbornly, not making a sound, casting a glance at the Second Elder guarding her, took a deep breath, and without hesitation, took out a phone from her pocket and dialed a number.
