I'm Trapped in the Block

Chapter 538: Chapter 535: The Awakened Xi

The sky over the Red Spirit Flower Valley suddenly brightened.

A dazzling red bolt of lightning burst from the oppressive dark clouds, splitting open the deathly still sky of Hundred Flowers Island.

The white mist instantly parted, clearing a path. The red thunderbolt landed squarely on the withered body nestled in the Red Spirit Flower petals, boring into the dim ball of light.

BOOM!

A clap of thunder echoed through the valley.

The purple threads on Li Luo began to glow faintly, tiny red sparks of electricity darting back and forth along them. Xiaozhi immediately released its hold and shot toward the Block in the air.

The purple threads were still crackling with lightning. The Block couldn’t dodge in time and was bound tightly by the electrified strands.

Li Luo stared at the sky in shock, then looked back at the withered, humanoid figure lying in the petals.

The ball of light was brighter than ever before, and a barely visible current wrapped around the withered body.

DRIP...

A drop of rain landed on Li Luo’s face. Freed from the threads’ binding, her flushed face was exceptionally sensitive. The cold rainwater trickled down her skin, seeping deep into her heart.

”It’s raining...”

Li Luo’s eyes widened as she watched the raindrops fall.

Cold rain poured down into the valley. All the Red Spirit Flowers cheered joyfully, swaying their massive bodies.

Raindrops seeped into the withered body at the center of the flower cluster. The rigid form actually began to tremble slowly.

The Red Spirit Flowers also sensed their father’s awakening. The arrival of the rain was like the raising of a curtain on a festival. They stretched their bodies freely in the cool, rainy breeze, and a wave of joy instantly spread throughout the valley.

”Father has awoken!”

”The great Purple Person—steward of human civilization! She has cast off her noble Purple cape, revealing her infinite power! She summoned the life-giving red thunder that shattered the heavens! It pierced the dark clouds shrouding the Red Spirit Flower Valley, and countless raindrops fell like poetry, awakening our sleeping father and the deathly still Hundred Flowers Island!” 𝘧𝓇ℯℴ𝓂

”Praise the Purple Person!”

”Praise the Purple Block!”

”What’s a Purple Block?” some of the slower Red Spirit Flowers asked.

”Look! The Purple Block is entwined with the lightning of life! It’s the thunder that can awaken all things! The human emperor tossed the Purple cape into the air, letting this thunder forever cover the Red Spirit Flower Valley and bring endless life! The Purple Block will carry the lightning to slice through the gloom, letting the rain fall and seep into every inch of the Red Spirit Flower Valley’s soil.”

”I don’t get it. You talked for too long. Does this mean I should be praising it too?” Most of the Red Spirit Flowers were still confused. When they saw other flowers swaying in the wind, they swayed too. When they saw other flowers cheering joyfully, they cheered joyfully too...

Before long, the valley was filled with cries of praise.

Li Luo was still completely bewildered. She stood dazedly in the cold rain, looking toward the Block.

Meanwhile, the Block was flying around chaotically above the flowers...

”Stay away from me! I’m all metal, don’t you dare electrocute me!”

A frightened Mo Ling controlled the Block, flying it all over the place to try and shake Xiaozhi off. But Xiaozhi remained wrapped around the Block, its grip only getting tighter.

In the rain, the withered body slowly sat up. After waking, the healer who had slept for so long looked directly at the Block in the sky. After watching it for a long while, he slowly stood up.

”Are you a human?” he asked, walking toward the dazed Li Luo. The ball of light on his head shone with a dazzling radiance. ”Have you seen a senior healer with a block on his head?”

’A healer with a block on his head?’ A familiar image instantly surfaced in Li Luo’s mind.

”What about him?” Li Luo asked cautiously.

”That senior... he saved me, and then he disappeared...” the withered body said blankly, the ball of light flickering nonstop. ”Have you seen him?”

”No.” Li Luo shook her head. She didn’t want to expose the Block’s identity.

”He’s a healer too?” Li Luo asked, a little puzzled.

”Of course. Only healers can enter the Healing Space. And to be able to enter someone else’s space... he must be an incredibly powerful senior,” the withered body said with great certainty.

”My own healing was incomplete, so I was trapped in my Healing Space. My power was constantly being siphoned away, depleting me without end. I couldn’t wake up...”

”But that senior injected an extremely powerful energy into my space, helping me complete the healing and allowing me to escape that vicious cycle.”

The withered body mumbled on, telling Li Luo what had happened in the Healing Space.

Even now, he could hardly believe it. A healer who could bring a real-world object into the illusory Healing Space? No healer had ever done that before. It meant that senior had mastered healing powers to a sublime degree...

After hearing the withered body’s mumblings, Li Luo had a pretty good idea of what had happened. ’It must have been the Block again...’

Li Luo looked at the dazzling ball of light before her and asked tentatively,

”Should I call you... Xi?”

”Yes.” The ball of light stared at the Red Spirit Flower on the back of Li Luo’s hand. ”Did they tell you?”

Li Luo nodded. It seemed the Red Spirit Flowers hadn’t lied to her.

Perhaps because it had been held back for so long, the long-awaited rain began to fall harder and harder, until the entire Red Spirit Flower Valley was shrouded in a downpour.

Mo Ling, finding he couldn’t shake Xiaozhi off no matter what, had no choice but to fly back to Li Luo’s side.

Li Luo immediately understood what the Block wanted.

”Xiaozhi, come back,” Li Luo commanded, sounding a little resigned.

Only then did Xiaozhi release the Block, turning back into a wristband and returning to Li Luo’s wrist.

Freed, the Block immediately shot up into the sky.

Watching the Block fly back and forth, Xi felt it looked somewhat familiar, but he was more curious about the human before him.

”Human, did you come to Hundred Flowers Island seeking treatment for an illness?”

”No... I want to know what exactly happened here.”

Li Luo told Xi her reason for coming to the Hua Sheng Islands. She explained that the islands’ beacon was emitting a distress signal and asked him what was going on.

”What did they mean by a ’severe illness’? And a ’severely ill patient’? What did the Red Spirit Flowers mean by all that?”

Li Luo wanted a straight answer from Xi.

However, Xi was stunned to hear this news.

The Red Spirit Flower on his body swayed slightly, and it seemed Xi was also trying to understand what was happening on the Hua Sheng Islands through it.

The Red Spirit Flowers repeated to Xi what they had told Li Luo, but they still failed to explain what had actually happened.

”I’m sorry, I don’t really know either. Ever since I entered the Healing Space, I haven’t known anything...”

He had been slumbering in the Red Spirit Flower Valley, oblivious even to what was happening outside the valley, let alone in the deeper parts of the Hua Sheng Islands.

Xi’s tone grew tense. ”If it wasn’t something critical, my companions wouldn’t have just abandoned me and left. Something must have happened on the Central Island...”
