I'm Trapped in the Block

Chapter 531: Chapter 528: The Flower’s Guidance

Purple threads were wrapped all around Li Luo’s body. She lifted her arm slightly, and the flower on the back of her hand slowly began to turn.

As the flower turned, Li Luo tilted her head as if she had heard something.

’Save... him?’

’Save who?’

The red flower seemed desperate to go somewhere and was continuously conveying its desire to Li Luo.

Hearing this faint, inner voice, Li Luo finally confirmed that the flower possessed a consciousness of its own.

However, Mo Ling, who was standing to the side, didn’t know this. Seeing Li Luo in a daze, he assumed she was being controlled by the flower and quickly tried to rip it off, but Li Luo stopped him.

”I don’t think it has any hostile intentions...” Li Luo explained to Block. ”It wants me to go somewhere and save someone.”

After speaking, Li Luo listened carefully again. The red flower was indeed repeating the same phrase:

’Save him.’

It repeated the phrase while turning, as if trying to lead Li Luo there.

”Who do you want to save?” Li Luo asked the red flower directly.

But the red flower didn’t respond. Its consciousness seemed very simple, capable only of repeating that one phrase.

’Should I follow its lead?’ Li Luo was conflicted.

The direction it was pointing was not toward the beacon.

Li Luo checked her map. The path the red flower indicated led to a valley that had once been filled with flowers. She had no idea what it looked like now.

Although she was highly suspicious, her curiosity won out in the end.

’We have to go see...’

Li Luo looked at the flower on her hand and said to Block, ”If you think something’s wrong with me, just rip this flower right off.”

With that, she led Mo Ling toward the valley.

On the barren wasteland of sand and gravel, the red flower continued to point the way.

The sky alternated between gloomy and clear, and the ever-present, never-falling raindrops made the atmosphere increasingly oppressive.

’Save him...’

As Li Luo drew closer to the valley, the flower’s voice grew clearer and more frequent.

’Who am I supposed to save?’

Li Luo asked again but still received no response.

Mo Ling cautiously scanned their surroundings. As they neared the valley, the terrain descended, and the moisture in the air grew incredibly thick. A faint mist began to permeate the area.

Although the mist didn’t obstruct his vision, he understood that once it condensed into droplets, things wouldn’t be so simple.

’Those red flowers... they’ll come back with a vengeance.’

Soon, Mo Ling’s guess was proven correct. A vast thicket of flowers appeared at the edge of their vision. It was a place where the moisture had condensed, and once there was enough water to trigger their growth, these blood-red flowers would rapidly overrun the ground.

The flowers, each taller than a person, grew in a dense mass. Sharp, woody thorns covered their stems, and they huddled closely together as if guarding something.

Just as Li Luo reached the edge of the thicket, she was blocked by a solid wall of thorns. The giant red flowers all turned their heads to look at her.

’A Purple creature.’

’Not a Purple creature. It’s a human.’

’What’s a human?’

’Humans are yellow-white creatures, not Purple creatures.’

’Then what is she?’

’She’s a Purple human. A human subspecies, a Purple Person.’

’Oh, I see. I get it now.’

Li Luo listened to the flowers’ conversation in a daze. She shook her head, confirming it wasn’t an auditory hallucination.

”Did you hear them talking?” Li Luo asked Block.

Of course, Mo Ling hadn’t heard a thing. He only saw the menacing flowers staring intently at Li Luo like a pack of hungry hyenas. He was on the verge of attacking.

’These blood-red flowers are clearly bad news.’

While keeping a wary eye on the red flowers, Mo Ling sent out his electronic screen.

Li Luo looked at the four large words on the screen, a little surprised.

’He didn’t hear them? Can only I hear them? Why?’

She raised her hand and looked at the red flower on her wrist.

’Is it because of this parasitic flower?’

While Li Luo was lost in her confusion, the red flowers began to ”speak” again:

’The Purple Person has a companion on her.’

’She is an accepted being. Should we let her pass?’

’Let’s. The Purple Person might be able to save him...’

As they ”spoke,” the red flowers swayed and parted, clearing a path.

Li Luo was still completely baffled, but the path to the valley floor had opened. Because of the parasitic flower on her hand, these red flowers seemed to bear her no ill will.

She didn’t immediately head down into the valley. Instead, she looked up at the swaying flowers and asked, ”Who am I supposed to save?”

After Li Luo asked her question, the flowers fell into another discussion.

’Is the Purple Person asking us?’

’I think so. But should we answer her?’

’No. The Purple Person will understand when she sees for herself.’

’Okay, then we won’t say anything. Shhh...’

Just as they’d said, the flowers fell silent and didn’t utter another word. No matter how Li Luo tried to provoke them, the flowers just played dead, remaining perfectly still.

’Save him...’

Only the parasitic flower on Li Luo’s hand kept repeating the phrase.

With no other choice, Li Luo could only follow the path down to the valley floor.

***

Swaying red flowers surrounded her, rocking back and forth in the dense moisture. Upon seeing Li Luo, they moved their bodies, twisting their thorny stems aside to thoughtfully leave a wide path for her.

News of the Purple Person’s arrival seemed to have spread throughout the thicket, and the story was getting more distorted with each retelling.

’I heard the Purple Person has come to save him!’

’Who’s the Purple Person?’

’The next stage of human evolution! The one and only king of humanity.’

’Humans have yellow people, black people, white people... They all compete with each other until a victor emerges. That victor becomes the Purple Person, who can control the entire human race.’

’So, does that mean the Purple Person is the strongest human?’

’Of course! Not just the strongest, but the noblest, too...’

Li Luo listened to the flowers’ chatter, her expression twitching. The news traveled faster than she could walk, and it was getting more and more absurd. Her status was constantly being elevated—at first, she was a human subspecies, but soon she became the Human Emperor, the strongest being of all time...

All sorts of boasts and exaggerations echoed from the red thicket, but whenever Li Luo asked the flowers a question, they would go back to playing dead without saying a word.

Li Luo could only brace herself and continue into the depths of the valley.

Here, the path grew wider, and the red flowers grew taller. The blood-red blossoms were so high they were swallowed by the clouds and mist, leaving only their thorny stems visible.

’Humanity has sent its strongest champion to save him...’

’The Purple Person—ruler of human civilization—has arrived in person! She will save everything with her supreme power! When she reaches the center of the thicket, all the Red Spirit Flowers will bow to her...’
